DVA got a reaction from CriissO in How should I go about cooling a i7 9700k?
Look at Noctuas, NZXT Kraken, Corsair H115i or Corsair H150.
The budget helps, but the case name and sizes would help also. Being able to set up a 240mm/280mm/360mm radiator...etc...
For air cooling you should be fine with a Dark Rock Pro4 or a Noctua NH-D15

Hey guys! I would like some suggestions for mobile gaming for my daughter. For the most part she just plays Pokemon GO on it. She's 7. I would also like it to be mobile because I know she doesn't always want to listen to my music, so letting her have some freedom of choice is good.

(before anyone leaves negative feedback for letting a child get a tablet, I limit her on her usage and when I say time's up, time is up)

I'm thinking of setting my price cap at $300 and hoping for it to last the next two years or so.
Used/refurbished is an option and older generation suggestions should last for the next two years or so.

    Thanks for any help

I didn't like the lesser CPU and DIY case. DIY cases, while cheap as hell, also feel cheap and most are heat traps. NO bueno. I do think OP should buy his GPU on Prime Day or something, the 570 does seem like a solid option if low budget is his thing.

OP's build is actually better despite the $50 increase. I'd stick with his to be honest.

@NewBuilder01 The only thing I would suggest is spending an extra 30 bucks for a total of 16 gigs rather than 8. It goes a long way in terms of multi-tasking. Even minuscule things such as surfing the web, trust me.

i say too: Take the iPad. even if it's 350-380 or something (due to LTE connectivity. Only the LTE iPad comes wth GPS included. Wifi model has no GPS).
(In the next weeks, a new iPad 2019 could come out, there have been rumors already. And apple certified them already)

    It is worth it.

Literaly EVERY singel Android Option that's cheaper than the iPad 2018, it will have significantly lower performance, and will be outdated very soon.
iPad is easier to use, much better optimized, way more and better Apps (that actually look and work good on a Tablet, and aren't just "blown up smartphone Apps".
And yea, much longer updates, much longer "useable", more stable performance over the years.

And that even before considering it getting the very very interesting iPadOS in 2-3 months.

base iPad does have a better Value overall than every Android tablet, sadly

Thanks guys! Seems like a pretty open and shut case. I was thinking exactly that, the 3600. I just didn't want to add any bias but it seems that it's the obvious choice here! Thanks fellas!

I agree, the Ryzen 5 3600 is a great CPU for this price range, and then you can use the remaining $100 for other things like possibly a better GPU or faster memory if he is not into memory overclocking.

Definitely the iPad, it'll last longer and they're much easier to use (considering she is 7 I am assuming that is a factor). If you want something smaller I'd recommend an iPhone 6/6s plus, 7 plus for longer lifespan if budget permits. 5.5 inch screen might be more manageable than a 9.7 and its still a phone so it has extra utility

How old is she? A tablet gets to be a real PITA to carry around after a while. It's why I stopped using them.
If she's fine with a larger phone, maybe consider just picking up a Mi Max 3. They're quite cheap, should have enough screen space, and if you check the bands should have the internet connectivity covered as well.

In case anyone needs this, here's a MSI 1070ti going for a mere $359.99. You won't really find this price anymore so if you need it, jump on it. It's performance is very comparable to a 2070 which retails for $459 +

Thanks for the great info! What are your thought on getting the 8 plus, used? I find Apple OS to be very safe and stable so a reformat / wipe before official use would be done. I have never owned Apple but I have used a few from friends and family. Seems great to me, my only gripe is the "Apple tax" on their new products.

iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus gets my recommendation. Stellar camera with 10x optically assisted zoom (Plus model only) stereo speakers, IP67, and wireless/quick charging.

The iPhone 8 Plus will receive at minimum 4 more years of iOS updates and the A11 Bionic still tops benchmarks. The 3GB of RAM (8 Plus only) is also managed to be more effective than 6GB on equivalent Android devices.

    iPhone 8: $599 new
    iPhone 8 Plus: $699 new

I would look to see what you can find refurbished and used. A refurbished iPhone 7 Plus would be good too.

Sure, you could, if you never planned to change, and didn't want something with more functionality.
These let you dive much deeper, change on the fly, etc. Plus it's lit, and we know how nerds love dark rooms.
    Makes much more sense IMO.

First, you can fool around with your router however you wish.
It has a USB 3.0 port, in which you can plug an external HDD which can then be accessed by any device, however you set it up.
That same drive can then be used as a backup location which is not directly connected to your computers.
The second router can be used as a network extender, of which the good dedicated ones rarely cost very cheap.
Depending how popular the router was/is - there may be open source operating systems which generally have more settings available to you than even than the one given by the device maker.
There are other benefits i'm sure, just jotted down off the top of my head.
