  1. Hi fellas, so it's been a while since I was on these forums but I'm gonna cut straight to the chase. I'm looking for a very quiet keyboard that is at least backlit so I can use it in the dark. My son is now 10 months old and likes to nap on my bed. So I'm trying to take advantage of my free time but he HATES the sound of my current mecha-membrane keyboard so I'm looking for something a lot quieter.. I've been out of the loop on my tech for the past year or so and I'd like to know what's the best on the market. Budget is probably max $100 usd give or take @ little. Thanks for the help everyone.
  2. Hi guys, I have just a few odd issues and I need help. 1. Youtube doesn't have any audio for me upon first opening a video. However, when I refresh the video the audio comes back. 2. When the audio DOES come back, it slowly begins to drift and go off-sync. 3. My audio drivers are up to date and my Nvidia drivers are also up to date so I don't know what is going on. 4. Yes I have reset my computer a few times but nothing has seemed to fix my issue. Anyone got any clues?...
  3. Most current laptops have the "brick" portion of the charger stop once the laptop is at full battery. I wonder if @NotABigGamer had it in the sun if overheating was the issue. But as for practical use, I don't believe most modern laptop chargers can overheat if at all. They get hot for sure, but not enough to kill itself (I think). May have been a factory defect as stated or perhaps an aging issue depending on how old it is.
  4. You are correct, I should have specified the lack of physical buttons rather
  5. For some, maybe the lack of customization of macros on the side of the mouse. I know a lot of people prefer to have macros programmed to their mice and this one doesn't have that available. So perhaps if you're not into that anyway, than it won't be such a deal breaker. It's light weight, great sensor, wireless (response is as good as wired), and it looks sleek. Edit: Editing due to the post above mine. As a claw gripper I cannot say too much, claw grip feels more universal in terms of mouse usage, aside from the smaller mice on the market. Palm grip will greatly change opinions from a claw grip. The shape of the mouse is a bit odd now that I think of it.
  6. Literally just look up his name...it's why he argues with anyone who posts something that doesn't support nor agree with his post 100% "unwilling or refusing to change one's views or to agree about something."
  7. This is actually pretty freakin solid for $1100. @OP, you should go just a little over budget for something like this. Great parts, great case, awesome keyboard, mid-high mouse, definitely future proof. This is great.
  8. I didn't like the lesser CPU and DIY case. DIY cases, while cheap as hell, also feel cheap and most are heat traps. NO bueno. I do think OP should buy his GPU on Prime Day or something, the 570 does seem like a solid option if low budget is his thing.
  9. Welp, silly question. I know the new gen Ryzen chips just came out, but does anyone expect the massive retailer Amazon to have some on sale? I know they are cheap enough as it is, but saving money is always great. I don't care if it's even 10 dollars, but does anyone speculate a price drop? Even if it's only slightly marginal? Perhaps a bundle even, hmm... Welp, any help or speculation would be great, thanks
  10. You know, I'll see what's going on for Amazon day! Surely they'll have some great deals, even on a last year model!
  11. OP's build is actually better despite the $50 increase. I'd stick with his to be honest. @NewBuilder01 The only thing I would suggest is spending an extra 30 bucks for a total of 16 gigs rather than 8. It goes a long way in terms of multi-tasking. Even minuscule things such as surfing the web, trust me.
  12. Hey guys! So I recently made a topic about my brother's PC and he pulled the trigger on a Ryzen 3600 chip to be paired with the ASUS B-450 board I gave him. The only issue now is we need to make sure he can get a BIOS update. He is currently on intel and so am i, so we can't do it ourselves. Do you guys know of any retailers or ships that can do it? I don't mind paying for it.
  13. Thanks guys! Seems like a pretty open and shut case. I was thinking exactly that, the 3600. I just didn't want to add any bias but it seems that it's the obvious choice here! Thanks fellas!
  14. Hey guys! So my brother has finally decided to upgrade his rig and I need some suggestions since the new Ryzen chips came out. His budget isn't the hugest, maybe being at $400 to upgrade I gave him an ASUS STRIX B450-F mobo. He currently has a 1060 for his gpu and will upgrade to a 2070 come December. So with the new Ryzen chips out, which one would be paired pretty well with the eventual 2070? I believe the RAM he will be getting is from the Trident series at 3000Mhz. So that's a hundred from the budget. Which leaves us with $300 for the CPU. He likes to play tons of games such as Battlefield, Rocket League, MK, and a ton of indie games. Any help would be seriously appreciated! He's hoping to upgrade sometime within the next month.
  15. The wifi model actually seems to be a great value! The cellular model however, $380 is above my budget for now. I thank you very much for your suggestion!
  16. Is that off of Amazon? And which model? Sorry, when I google or Amazon it, it just says "newest model", not like iPad air 2 for example
  17. all hail @DrMacintosh May I have a suggestion or two within my budget all mighty Apple-user
  18. To each their own. I would have suggested headphones but with him asking about the built in speakers I figured he wanted open audio. I might be wrong on the speaker thing, I last had them back in the early 2000's. @op You can also buy tons of cheap headphones on Amazon that work just fine. They even have mics if you're gaming. If you end up finding bluetooth ones but your motherboard doesn't have built in bluetooth than you can buy a bluetooth adapter for like $7 dollars from ASUS
  19. Some monitors have built in speakers, just check to see in the specs if it had built in monitors. The motherboard can determine audio quality, as in the chipset can make it clearer/quieter/louder, etc. As for suggestions, monitor speakers don't sound too good. If you have the budget to buy a pair for $30 speakers from Logitech than you're much better off getting that. Not to mention that monitors with built in speakers look clunky. Logitech sells ton of affordable 2.1 systems (subwoofer and 2 speakers)
  20. Sure, which model do you recommend? I'm not really in the Apple ecosystem so I don't know much about their products other than the phones. Thanks for the thicc case suggestions =P My daughter actually takes care of her stuff, surprisingly
  21. Hey guys! I would like some suggestions for mobile gaming for my daughter. For the most part she just plays Pokemon GO on it. She's 7. I would also like it to be mobile because I know she doesn't always want to listen to my music, so letting her have some freedom of choice is good. (before anyone leaves negative feedback for letting a child get a tablet, I limit her on her usage and when I say time's up, time is up) I'm thinking of setting my price cap at $300 and hoping for it to last the next two years or so. Used/refurbished is an option and older generation suggestions should last for the next two years or so. Thanks for any help
  22. Thanks. I will consider that. I may also just look into slightly older phones (S8, iPhone 8, etc) She is 7. So perhaps a phone would be best rather than a tablet just from the size perspective alone.
  23. oh yeah true lol. Any suggestions? I'd be fine with used if I'm honest. Any suggestions? I may go above budget if needed. She does play Pokemon Go with me sometimes when we just want to go for a walk.
  24. So I was thinking of getting my daughter a tablet since we travel often enough that I feel for her when she gets bored on the road trips. she currently uses my wife's old phone at home via wifi but it so horrendously slow...she doesn't feel it because she's a child and is just happy it works. But I won't let my daughter use an ancient brick. Anyway, I've capped my search at $300 post taxes. I was looking at the iPad, this year's model for $249.99. On the other hand I was looking at the Samsung Tablet A (2019) at $229.99. I figure Apple is extremely user friendly and might be easiest to use, but I do like the thought of Android's customizable UI as well as more apps that can be downloaded. Primary uses: Will have internet service added to be able to take it on the go. Games such as My Little Pony downloads, pretty much any little kid game, Pokemon GO, Netflix, E-Reading. That being said, not a lot of power in the hardware is needed, but I also don't want this thing to turn into a brick in 2 years time. I prefer my electronics to last at least 3-4 years before upgrading. so does anyone have any suggestions on anything better or their opinion between the two I listed?
  25. In case anyone needs this, here's a MSI 1070ti going for a mere $359.99. You won't really find this price anymore so if you need it, jump on it. It's performance is very comparable to a 2070 which retails for $459 + https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GeForce-256-bit-Support-Graphics/dp/B07QX2LBYW/ref=sr_1_1?pf_rd_i=gb_main&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=5269a1b9-d99f-4f97-90e1-4fe5850d115b&pf_rd_r=BJEVPX90361FXJ5MCCZ3&pf_rd_s=slot-5&pf_rd_t=701&qid=1561386397&s=gateway&smid=A26F17D9ND1WMD&sr=8-1
