  1. I know! That's the point I'm an enthusiast like I said! My car is stupidly fast and basically unusable on the public roads especially when the very maximum speed limit is 70mph which it does in first gear if it's dry! What's your point exactly?
  2. Also thanks so far for the input guys I will pick one or maybe 2 and let you know how I get on. Keep um coming if you can... Thanks again..
  3. Also just out of curiosity, What's the very best driving sim taking RTX into consideration right now? Coz I would do lots of those as I love cars but always find them all to be so unrealistic or realistic enough that you need a full on actual simulator cage etc. so i just find them rustrating because I have a real 660 HP Modified BMW So I've never bothered with driving sims but I am curious as my mate who loves them cant make his mind up and I gave up playing his years ago for reasons just given..
  4. I'm a super PC enthusiast and work in IT running my own business, so always feel the necessity to upgrade and get nicer components etc but the type of work I do I could make do with a good Quad Core, NVME M.2 and a larger 2.5 SSD + 2 monitors and a good chair Frankly! However I have a new R9 3900x (OC'd) 64 GB 3600 MHZ GSkill DDR4 (lost the custom loop this time) a dirty great big Noctua provides almost identical thermals with a fraction of the hassle. I won't bother listing all the other stuff but everything is high end and unnecessary, oh but I will mention the RTX 2080ti that I just don't need and costed an obscene amount of money when you consider I have never played a game other than Solitaire on a PC! I don't edit. I code, type, browse lots of tabs (lots) and email 100 minimum a day, so office 365 is often using up a bit of cpu and memory as well... Hence why I am posting. If you had my setup or do have something similar or better and are proper into gaming which 1 all round, immersive, impressive, universally liked game that utilises ray tracing preferably, would you recommend I try? I think I finally owe it to myself and the computer before I really am too old! Any suggestions would be welcomed and most appreciated! Thanks a bunch! Jay...
  5. Also I guess my whole point was exactly that. We get it and I'm sure a lot of loyal superfans will stick with it in Alpha State but my point was that regardless of whether you are a new startup or building up your media empire as it were. You don't introduce anything to the world especially a ".com" until it is absoluteltey on point, functional and fit for purpose we live in an age where particularly when it comes to the internet, expectations are extremely high and people have short attention spans. It needs the buzz of a successful launch to properly take care of the chicken and the egg situation in terms of creators they have there. And if LMG are doing it primarly to have their own platform and full control of their own content then that is all well and good but there are always going to be video sharing platforms backed by huge companies with deep pockets, it's the future after all so it's a damn good idea to try and establish yourself within that space and the future but will it ever actually get a voice. That is what I'm saying, you have to shout pretty loud these days!
  6. I know it's in an Alpha state but it's inadvertantly getting a lot of publicity for a site that is in an Alpha State. I mean Linus himself mentions it a lot and he gets millions of views and has over 6 million subscribers on YouTube alone and they are bound to be intreagued (I was) and that's what they see when they check it out. That's what I was saying. I would have kept it hush and got more creators on board in the background and then done a huge launch and special deals for loyal LTT forum people etc. I know it's not a replacement for youtube as well I simply meant it is intended to be another platform for content creators so it needs to be up to scratch otherwise ther are alternatives and people will look the other way... I hope that doesn't happen as I said big fan and very respectful of the whole operation in general. I would hate this to be the thing that takes it all down. I hope the investment hasn't been too massive because if it fails like I said it could put them out of business if they have spent loads of money on developing it...
  7. I know I was just searching to see if anyone had gone over 4.2 on this chip as it seemed to be a bit of an enigma and this popped up on Google. Anyway Nice on I'll see if I can beat it!
  8. But it could be so much better. The home page is just a login screen so boring and basic. It doesn't explain what it is or have any kind of tempting things you want to click on. I can see that if you are into LTT and want their videos earlier and don't mind paying for the privalage I guess it's fine but where are they going with it?? I thought it was supposed to be a kind of YouTube alternative or similar platform for creators but there are only 2 addtional creators on there which you have to pay for before you have even seen who they are and what they do. I'm a bit dissapojnted tbh. Big Linus and Luke fan and expected something frankly better and more exciting. It should have been a well prepared launch not a sort of slow migration of LTT fans onto a a very bland site. Is there an app for example?? It could be so much more it needs a load of inticing free content/teasers on there and loads of functionality like chats and so, so much more. I guess this is the end goal but I know about launching .com's and they need good to go on launch with no bugs and serious incentive for people to join and therefore create buzz etc I haven't subscribed to anything yet because frankly I was so underwhalmed by the website once registered I didn't even want to bother paying to see what other functionality and quality etc lies behind the $3 per month per channel/creator. We need to actually get a preview of what were getting. I'm amazed people have signed up. They must be loyal LTT fans as am I but I will keep watching on Youtube. Its asily accessible, free and I still get a video every day!! Sorry LMG guys I really admire your whole outfit to be honest which is why I am writing this post. If you wan't some feedback/ideas/info/consultation hit me back. I am an IT proffesional and did get shortlisted or contacted by luke for that floatplane job form that was online but I live in the UK currently but am looking at posibly moving to Canada. It looks nice and I'm getting a divorce. Anyway I digress does anyone else agree or disagree???
  9. I'm running 4.2 on a 1600x too. Check this; ASUS PRIME B350 PLUS 16GB HyperX 2666Mhz DDR4 Ryzen 5 1600x Corsair AIO Water Cooler Crappy Old 750Ti (Not a Gamer) NOW STABLE @ 4.2 Ghz !! ( The trick is always in the ram all Ryzen (zen) stuff loves fast RAM). Just in case you can't see that crappy screen grab it's 1400 multithreaded cpu score. I'm going to try and OC the memory and get it to 4.3 and 1500 and if she blows its a damn good excuse to by a new awesome board and a 1st gen Threadripper. Just love multicore power and building custom PC's!!!
  10. Holy SH1T!! What Cinibench CPU score does this get at the title spec??
  11. Also If DDR4 wasn't so damn pricey I'd just by an affordable Ryzen and a simple but modern compatible ASUS or Gigabyte board or something but you have to do the same money again on RAM if not more! So annoying!! Equivalent Intel chips and boards are silly pricey too! I'd spend it if I actually needed it or was well into gaming or whatever but my work system is pretty badass so I just tinker for fun so can't really justify the cost just to se that damn cinibench graphic load faster!! . Would rather spend it on Cars and track days (my other hobby). Slightly more adrenaline from Cylinders, Turbos & BHP/Torque than Cores, Threads and Ghz \FPS!!!!
  12. Thanks man, That's what I though just get a 2.5 SATA SSD. On the temp thing yeah I know software info can be well sketchy but on boot up the BIOS has quoted as low as 9 c and I set the warning at 60 so I know its not running silly hot also just by opening the case and feeling the pipes and touching the rad etc. Voltage is 1.475 and 4.5 ghz runs ok and benches occasionally but crashes eventually so thanks I will try raising the FSB a bit. Cheers Dude!
  13. Hi there, I'm not a gamer, actually software analyst by day and pc builder/tinkerer enthusiast by night. I love getting cheap old tech to overperform! Currently running an AMD FX 8120 8 Core at 4.4 ghz and it never goes over 45 °C under heavy load! Current Spec; Operating System Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU AMD FX-8120 18 °C Zambezi 32nm Technology RAM 16 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 26 °C Graphics P24RD0117E (1366x768@59Hz) 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 (NVIDIA) 31 °C I also have a 1TB WD Blue and a Kingston 120GB 2.5 Sata SSD (Boot Drive) which is not that good mainly because of capacity I guess?? So I recently bought an NVME m.2 (also Kingston) 240 GB SSD. Problem is even with a PCIe adapter becasue of the above MOBO (Old Skool Dual BIOS EFI/Legacy) it won't boot from it (Recognizes in Windows and is usable though). I have read about cloverleaf workaround and a few other things but am just thinking of doing a slight upgrade to a similar board and chip but just UEFI so I can boot from PCIe NVME SSD and hopefully have something a bit better and quicker. So my questions were firstly is it worth trying to do this (NVME via PCIe) or should I just buy a 500gb SATA SSD and forget about it? Does anyone have any experience of getting old BIOS to boot from PCIe? Secondly if I do the upgrade what is the best possible chip I could get for overclocking (bearing in mind I'm running a corsair liquid cooler and a LOT of efficient fans to achieve a very stable 4.4 GHz on current setup and I've had it boot windows at 4.7 but it crashed right at the end of Cinibench!. Or if I wan't to do NVME on a budget what is the best board and chip to use without having to buy everything else again? Has anyone done similar and do other people share my passion for making cheap relatively old Hardware respectably fast by modern standards? (Hence why I also love Scapyard Wars)!!! Like I said not fussed about gaming hence the crappy Graphics Card by modern standards but you can still play some good driving sims on it without issue and I'm not picky when it comes to FPS etc... I'd love to hear from fellow enthusiasts and pros. Hit me back! Cheers! Phil
