I've been noticing errors on a lot of videos and it was only time for 60 Minutes, uh GamersNexus to post a video.

But to say Steve's video was "purely objective" is questionable.  It came off as an ego filled smear video like all of his "objective" reporting videos.  Self righteous smearing.  Ending the video with *shrug* "that's my thoughts on this..." was an attempt to deflect responsibility of the video by Steve.  He knew what he was saying...

But I think what LTT need to be mindful of is this delusion that permeates society of "you are good at your job by virtue of being hired to it." LTT employees need to understand what they are reporting and saying and need to be a bit less judgemental in their videos IMHO.  They should be more mindful of objectivity, professionalism, and just getting things right.  And I agree with Steve.  If its wrong, it probably should corrected in the manner he prescribes.

Ive been thinking about this for a while.  This isn't the first time someone called out LTT for ethics or accuracy and I've watching LTT make mistakes for quite a while now.  Why is Gamers Nexus, who defended Linus's integrity and accuracy before, now making this video?

Was whole thing an objective piece of journalism and positive feedback from one professional to another, for the benefit of the community?  Did we all end that video enlightened or did we end it thinking LTT = Scumbags?  Steve did released the video with no financial benefit to him and his channel, right?

    Or were their other motives?

I actually had this issue when I bought my 980ti, I could hear electrical interference on my headphones(with a 3.5mm jack)

I fixed this by buying a DAC.

I might try the grommet thing out, can't lose much beyond a couple of bucks and 5m of my time

LmnSour got a reaction from Bombastinator in Fix for GPU wine? MAYBE!
Background, I was looking to fix the buzzing in my Soundcard which was associated with GPU coil-whine (RTX 3090).  Everywhere I read said it was from EMI interference but two observations I figured it was something else: 1: when I held the 3.5mm jack with a little pressure, the buzzing was reduced or was eliminated and 2: when I was plugging the jack into the sound card, just touching the jack to the 3.5mm port caused the buzzing.  It appeared to me that the buzzing was coming from a high frequency vibration of the 3.5mm jack.

Later I learned that coil-whine was caused by vibrations of the electromagnetic coils on the GPU.  My theory was that the frequency from the vibrations of these coils was being transferred through the metal case / PCI-E brackets to the sound card so I bought some rubber grommets to isolate the GPU and the sound card from each other (see below for the link to the grommets I used).  Sure enough, all the buzzing has stopped!

Pkg of 24 - Black SBR Rubber Push-in Grommet - Inner Diameter 1/8", Outer Diameter 11/32", Fits Panel Hole 1/4", Fits Panel Thickness 1/16": Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Here's the best part though, last night, I was gaming with my fans turned low and using speakers (usually I game with headphones due to the coil-whine) and I realized there wasn't any coil whine anymore.  I turned all the fans off and still no whine.  I opened my case, and even with 100% GPU usage, coil-whine was minimum at best.

My theory is the grommets dampen the entire GPU and reduces the coil vibrations vs having the GPU hard mounted to a metal case.

If someone would like to help me out here and grab some rubber grommets and please post results here, I'm very curious if this is a fluke or a repeatable fix to the annoying issue of coil whine.

Pretty much everything watercooling has been tested already, years ago.  A few takeaways:

    1) You don't need as much airflow as you think.  It only helps very little to have tons of air flowing through a radiator.
    2) You don't need as much pump speed as you think.  Anything above a trickle is fine because the heat loads aren't absurdly large.

Thanks guys. After some thinking I figured it might have been something like that. I made sure to flush them a ton. I didnt know but my primochill tube came with a sysprep and utopia so I'll run the sysprep while leak checking overnight then drain and fill with distilled plus utopia and change it every 6mo.

AIO coolers are gimmicks. If you watercool, do it right, otherwise air coolers generally are the same, if not better.
