  1. " LG released a video teasing its new LG V40 ThinQ smartphone with a triple-lens camera system. The video also teases that the V40 ThinQ has a total of five cameras. The video doesn't reveal the functions of each lens. LG will host an event on October 3 to fully reveal the LG V40 ThinQ and its features. LG's Korean YouTube channel and press site released a video and a press release on Thursday teasing the LG V40 ThinQ: a smartphone that comes with a total of five cameras, compared to the usual two or three. Here it is: The LG V40 ThinQ will have a triple camera system on the rear, but a specific scene in the video suggests there will be a total of five cameras, as shown below: For the rear cameras, one lens will likely have the usual wide angle lens that most smartphones come with, and another is likely to come with an ultra-wide angle lens that's become a signature feature on LG phones. The video doesn't reveal what feature the third lens will have. In its press release, LG says the V40 ThinQ will come with a 6.4-inch display, which is similar in size to the Galaxy Note 9. It'll be available in three colors, including "Platinum Gray," "Carmine Red," and "Morokan Blue." LG also says the V40 ThinQ will have a "silky" glass back and that the glass is scratch resistant. To find out more, we'll have to see what LG shows us during its October 3 event. " Source: https://www.businessinsider.com/lg-v40-thinq-triple-lens-camera-teaser-video-2018-9
  2. yeeh 700 but the msrp was like 550. The 2070 will suffer the same fate, but after some time, so yeah go get it.
  3. Mosquitoes deserve to die in pain, for how many people they kill PS Im pretty sure this should be in off topic.
  4. Its at 1080 price territory at this point.
  5. PSST... apparently no SLI/NVlink support. " Everybody expected it when Nvidia announced the GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti at Gamescom. But Nvidia still pulled off a surprise, revealing the GeForce RTX 2070 at the same time—albeit without any concrete launch details whatsoever. Now, mere days before the slightly delayed RTX 2080 Ti hits the streets, Nvidia has announced release date information for the GeForce RTX 2070. The GeForce RTX 2070 will launch on October 17, Nvidia’s GeForce account tweeted today. The Founders Edition model will cost $599 on GeForce.com, with prices from third-party partners like EVGA, Asus, and Gigabyte starting at $499—at least in theory. In reality, we’ve seen custom cards treat the Nvidia Founders Edition cost as the true price baseline when new GPUs launch. The timing of the launch is interesting. GeForce RTX 2080 reviews proved divisive: Benchmarks showed it performing neck-and-neck with the GTX 1080 Ti in traditional games. Worse, the cutting-edge technologies that Nvidia’s radical Turing GPU was built for—real-time ray tracing, Deep Learning Super Sampling, and more—aren’t available in traditional games yet (although several games have pledged RTX support). Nvidia says the first ray traced games will appear about a month after the GeForce RTX 2080’s September 20 launch, when the underlying DirectX Raytracing API comes to Windows in the October 2018 update. But will ray tracing be ready for the GeForce RTX 2070’s launch? That’s the big question. October 17 is about a month after the RTX 2080’s launch. Microsoft hasn’t announced a firm release date for October 2018 Update. Spitballing off how the GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti compare to their predecessors, the GeForce RTX 2070 might wind up matching the performance of the GTX 1080 in traditional games. If that’s the case, the situation would match the RTX 2080 versus GTX 1080 Ti dilemma. You’ll be paying the same amount—or likely more—for the same level of traditional game performance, 2.5 long years after the GTX 1080’s debut. If ray tracing and DLSS aren’t available by the time the GeForce RTX 2070 launches, buyers will once again be asked to make a leap of faith in paying that premium for Turing’s future-facing features. Fingers crossed ray tracing ships before October 17. In the meantime, here’s a refresher on the GeForce RTX 2070’s core specs: CUDA cores: 2,304 Clock speed: 1,410MHz base, 1,620MHz boost, 1,710MHz OC Founders Edition Memory capacity: 8GB GDDR6 Memory path: 256 bits Memory bandwidth: 448GBps Ports: VirtualLink/USB-C, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0b Power: One 8-pin, 175W stock, 185W OC Founders Edition NVLink/SLI: No Release date: October 17, 2018 Price: $499 stock, $599 Founders Edition You can sign up to be notified when the GeForce RTX 2070 Founders Edition will be available to preorder on the GeForce website. Asus already revealed ROG Strix, Dual Fan, and blower-style RTX 2070 graphics cards, so expect to see custom models around the same date. " Source: https://www.pcworld.com/article/3308876/components-graphics/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2070-october-17-release-date.html I've been waiting for this, the mid range card, but if NVidia continues their price increases, we might eventually have to settle for a 3060 (whenever the heck that comes out)
  6. Man you have an M.2 ssd put it into ans M.2 slot on your mobo.
  7. Yes your i5 will bottleneck the 1080. For gaming the i7 8700k is now king, but Ryzens okay too.
  8. Theres a program here that I think will work. But do scan the installer with your antivirus package first, Im not 100% sure its legit, but it seems to be. Lemme know if it works: http://php.net/
  9. AMD is finally starting to see the importance of the laptop cpu segment. " AMD has made two new processors to counter Intel’s Coffee Lake H series chips, which are often found in gaming notebooks and mobile workstations. While these are largely just laptop versions of the desktop-class four-core processors that AMD already launched this year, the new chips could mark AMD’s expansion into more notebooks and mobile workstations. The new AMD Ryzen 5 2600H and Ryzen 7 2800H are 45-watt processors with four CPU cores, eight processor threads, and Radeon Vega graphics. The new chips support DDR4 RAM up to 3200 MHz, which is decent compared to others on the market. Both 14nm chips can be configured to 35 watts of thermal design power or up to 54 watts, so laptop makers can choose a higher setting for better performance or a lower setting for less heat and extended battery. Both chips are fairly similar, but the Ryzen 7 2800H is slightly higher-specced than the Ryzen 5 2600H, with a 3.3GHz baseline speed and 3.8GHz boost speeds if needed, along with integrated 1.3GHz Radeon Vega 11 graphics. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 5 2600H chip is more entry level, with a 3.2GHz base, 3.6-GHz boost speeds, and 1.1GHz Radeon Veg 8 graphics. The new models are the first 45W laptop chips that AMD has come out with; AMD has a 15W Ryzen line for lighter laptops, but these beefier chips can handle more. While Intel’s 45W line has recently focused on high-end chips and additional cores, AMD’s new Ryzen options go for higher base speeds, which could help them stand apart. Although some laptops use AMD chips today, the market is largely ruled by Intel. With these new chips, AMD isn’t going after the common consumer PC, but the higher-end models that could help build its reputation as a true rival to Intel. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced, but if the new chips catch on with manufacturers, they could translate into more laptop options for consumers later down the line." My thoughts? The more competition Intel gets at this point, the better.
  10. There are only two designers of smart phones these days: Samsung and Apple. Its as if every company except Samsung made a phone with a notch after Apple released the IPhone X. Oh well... " Global Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro goes on sale ahead of announcement 18 September 2018 While we are hearing about an upcoming device called Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, a retailer is already selling the smartphone on AliExpress. The phone is listed with full specs, images and pricing and on top of that this is the Global version that is said to support over 70 languages and comes with Google services and OTA updates. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is listed with Snapdragon 636 chipset, although some reports suggested a Snapdragon 660. This exact version has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, but it comes with a microSD port. The screen is 6.26” with a notch, but the specs sheet has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels (it should be 2280 x 1080 if the ratio is 19:9), making us suspect if the listing is entirely legit. We saw photos of the phone with four cameras, and this listing confirms them - the main setup will sport a 12 MP + 5 MP cam, while the selfie shooter will be 20 MP + 2 MP, with the secondary snappers doing some background blur. The OS is Android Oreo with MIUI 9 on top, and a 4,000 mAh battery cell, sadly with a micro USB port. This whole setup costs €171/$200. The colors are four - Black, Blue, Rose Gold, and Red." 12. Privacy is a dead dream... ” Google has apologised after Android phone users noticed that the battery saver setting was remotely activated last week without their consent. The battery saver affects how often apps update and work in the background. The firm took to discussion website Reddit to explain that it was conducting an internal test that was "mistakenly" rolled out more widely. The affected devices appeared to be running the Android Pie operating system. Battery Saver can also delay notifications and stop location services when the device is not in use, in order to preserve power. "This was an internal experiment to test battery-saving features that was mistakenly rolled out to more users than intended," the company said on Reddit. "We have now rolled battery saver settings back to default. Please configure to your liking. Sorry for the confusion." While many of the affected posters on Reddit described having a Google Pixel device, other brands of Android devices were also mentioned, including the Essential Phone, which was designed by one of the creators of Android. Technology commentator Kate Bevan, editor of Which? Computing magazine, said her phone was affected. "I noticed the other day that suddenly my battery saver was on and I was a bit puzzled by it," she said. "I don't want any app or operating system reversing decisions I've made - unless I know why they are doing it. "It's about transparency and consent - it may well be a good idea that a change is being made but I still want to know why." Source: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-45546276
  13. Is no company these days trustworthy enough for us to not care they have our information? ” Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Amazon.com said on Monday it was investigating suspected internal leaks of confidential information by its employees for bribes to remove fake reviews and other seller scams from its website. Amazon employees are offering internal data and other classified information through intermediaries, to independent merchants selling their products on the site to help them boost sales in return for payments, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing sources. The practice, which is a violation of the company's policy, is particularly strong in China, the report added, as the number of sellers there are soaring. "We hold our employees to a high ethical standard and anyone in violation of our code faces discipline, including termination and potential legal and criminal penalties," a company spokesperson told Reuters. Brokers for Amazon employees in Shenzhen are offering internal sales metrics and reviewers' email addresses, as well as a service to delete negative reviews and restore banned Amazon accounts in exchange for payments ranging from about $80 to more than $2,000, the WSJ report said. The e-commerce giant is also investigating a number of cases involving employees, including some in the U.S., suspected of accepting these bribes, according to the Journal report.” Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/17/amazon-investigating-claims-of-employees-leaking-data-for-bribes.html
  14. Load issues? Bad electrical wiring?
  15. I'll be honest for 95% of games there's no difference between 144Hz and 240Hz. And Minecraft looks the same at 1080p and up unless you use custom resource packs and shaders and stuff like that.
  16. What do you mean the 1080 costs $700? It costs $500
  17. It kinda sucks that schools open.

      Windows7ge

Could be worse. There's the 1/365 chance your birthday could be the first day of school every year...fml. (I actually don't have to deal with that anymore. I graduated 4 years ago. Still not a good memory.)

  18. Elon Musk’s prediction last July that the Model 3’s production hell is coming to an end seems to be ringing true. Tesla is currently in the final month of Q3 2018, and according to Musk in a letter to employees shared last Friday, the company is on the cusp of its “most amazing quarter” yet, as it prepares to build and deliver “more than twice as many cars” as it did in the second quarter. The catalyst for Tesla’s growth is the Model 3. Dubbed by Elon Musk as a “bet-the-company” vehicle, the Model 3’s success or failure could dictate Tesla’s future. So far, though, the Model 3 has been performing well, being dubbed by auto sales tracking website GoodCarBadCar as the 5th best-selling passenger car in the United States last August. Tesla was able to achieve this despite producing only three variants of the electric car — the Long Range RWD, the Long Range AWD, and the AWD Performance version. The Model 3’s base trim, which is expected to cost $35,000 before any options, is still not being produced. If Tesla plays its cards right, the $35,000 standard trim Model 3 could very well become a fossil-fuel car killer. At its price point, the base Model 3 becomes comparable in price to some of the United States’ best-selling passenger cars like the Toyota Camry, whose top-of-the-line XSE V6 trim is priced at $34,950. While the potential of the $35,000 Model 3 is vast, Tesla and even CEO Elon Musk have been quite conservative when releasing updates about the upcoming electric sedan. That is, until now. Just recently, Worm Capital analysts Eric Markowitz and Dan Crowley published a post on the financial firm’s website outlining their insights on Tesla after a tour of Gigafactory 1. Tesla’s head of investor relations Martin Viecha facilitated the tour, while also provided some updates on the company’s upcoming projects. Among these projects was the $35,000 standard trim Model 3. According to the analysts, they were informed that the Model 3’s base variant, which is equipped with a shorter-range battery, would likely start production “in the next 8 months.” With this statement in mind, it appears safe to infer that by April or Mar 2019, Tesla would be manufacturing the $35,000 base Model 3. Contrary to an emerging Tesla bear thesis that demand for the Model 3 is declining, the analysts noted that the electric car maker is currently focused on selling higher-margin cars such as the Model 3 Performance and the Long Range AWD Model 3, where “demand continues to exceed what is being produced.” This is in line with Tesla head of sales Robin Ren’s statement in the Q2 2018 earnings call, when he noted that the company is seeing “more orders for the All-Wheel Drive dual-motor car and performance cars combined than the rear wheel drives.” Musk unveiling the production Model 3. [Credit: Gene/Teslarati] Back in June, Tesla CEO Elon Musk provided a rough estimate as to when the initial production of the $35,000 Standard trim Model 3 would begin. Musk also noted that Tesla would likely start producing the vehicle’s smaller battery packs at the end of 2018. “We will definitely offer a $35,000 version of the Model 3. And probably at the end of this year is when we will be able to make a smaller version of the battery pack, and get into volume production of $35,000 version in Q1 next year. We would definitely honor that obligation, and we would do so right now if it were possible,” Musk said. The recent timeline related by Martin Viecha covers and exceeds Q1 2019, considering that his estimated timeframe ends at either April or May next year. That being said, Tesla definitely appears to be getting ready for the rollout of the $35,000 base Model 3, as well as succeeding models like the standard-range AWD version. Once Tesla is manufacturing the full range of the Model 3’s variants, it would not be too surprising if the vehicle ends up dethroning best-selling passenger cars like the Toyota Camry in the United States. The Tesla Model 3’s base variant has a 220-mile range, a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds, and a top speed of 130 mph. The vehicle starts at $35,000 before any options. Source: https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-3-base-trim-production-2019/ Finally a Tesla I can hope of buying. PS if you're wondering why I've been so inactive, its because school is a pain

  20. My favourite console died. Gotta go get a black tux for the funeral... "Old consoles never die, they just run out of replacement parts." " Sony has finally pulled the plug on the 18-year-old PlayStation 2 console. Production was discontinued in 2013, but Sony just ceased repairs for them last week. The company posted a termination notice on its Japanese PS2 repair site (Google Translate version), saying, "We have finished accepting after-sales service." According to the BBC, Sony started running out of the parts necessary to fix the console. While there are still third-party services that might help you eke a few years more out of your vintage unit, eventually they too will have to surrender to the inevitable. The PS2 is arguably the biggest-selling console of all time, with over 150 million units populating the planet. The announcement comes after Sony officially celebrated its 500 millionth PlayStation console with a translucent limited-edition PlayStation 4 Pro and matching accessories. Nostalgia aside, Sony is currently facing rumblings of discontent from gamers over its unwillingness to support cross play with other gaming platforms." 21. We'll see if this can shake up the market as much as Ryzen. " It’s been about a year since we got the new AMD Vega cards, which gave the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 a run for their money. However, the rest of AMD’s product line is still running on Polaris, and may continue to do so until AMD Navi makes its way to market. But what will AMD Navi look like? Rumor has it that AMD Navi probably won’t materialize into a high-end graphics card immediately, instead saving its hand for much later, according to a leaked roadmap reported by Wccftech. What this means is that gamers will have to wait a little while before they can get their hands on the next gaming-ready cards from AMD. AMD Navi’s delay may be a sign of AMD’s change in direction for its GPUs – catering to PC gamers is out, while custom GPU designs for corporations like Sony and Apple are in. This seems to fit in nicely with the rumor that AMD Navi is going to be designed with the Xbox Two and PS5 in mind. Now, before we dive into all the juicy information, gossip and speculation bear in mind that nothing is set in stone yet. However, make sure you bookmark this page, as we’ll update it just as soon as any new information comes our way. Cut to the Chase What is it? AMD's next-generation 7nm GPU architecture When is it out? 2018 What will it cost? Pricing remains yet to be confirmed AMD Navi release date Right now, the only official proof that Navi will be launch anytime soon is a small statement from AMD titled “Expanding our High-Performance Leadership with Focused 7nm Development.” In the release, AMD Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster states that “We have already tapped out multiple 7nm products at TSMC, including our first 7nm GPU planned to launch later this year and our first 7nm server CPU that we plan to launch in 2019.” Unfortunately, even with that statement we don’t really have a full picture of when or how AMD Navi is going to hit the market. Especially when this 7nm GPU AMD is referring to could be an Vega 7nm chip, which thus far have only been packed into Radeon Instinct cards meant for severs and workstations. A lot of the speculation right now revolves around Navi being designed to power the next generation of game consoles, with gaming graphics cards to follow later. This all comes from that leaked roadmap we mentioned earlier, which suggests that AMD Navi will show up in the second half of 2019. However, the entire line probably won’t make an appearance at the same time. Instead, the cards that will likely show up in 2019 will be more mid-range products for budget-minded gamers with full-fat enthusiast grade 7nm cards showing up as late as 2020. This all comes from a leaked benchmark, however, but it would seem to fall in line with when we can expect the next generation of consoles – late 2019/early 2020. We’re sure AMD will have more to share early next year – maybe at CES 2019? AMD Navi price Over the last decade or so, AMD has essentially built a name for itself in the GPU space as the budget king. And, as Nvidia gets ready to release its next generation of Turing RTX graphics cards that cost upwards of a thousand bucks, AMD will probably double down on this – just like it released Ryzen and Ryzen Threadripper to counter Intel. As for the exact pricing, we’re not entirely sure, but we expect the pricing to follow in line with the Radeon RX 500 series. Those prices are below. AMD Radeon RX 550 - $114 (£99, AU$104) AMD Radeon RX 560 - $139 (£140, AU$235) AMD Radeon RX 570 - $280 (£250, AU$340) AMD Radeon RX 580 - $289 (£289, AU$450) We can expect the prices to go up, however, due to the likely inclusion of GDDR6 memory, which we’ll dive into later. Either way, expect to pay more for the Radeon RX 650. AMD Navi specs Beyond the rumor that it’s going to be running on a 7nm process and GDDR6, there’s not much we know about AMD Navi. Because AMD Navi is going to be the first mainstream GPU processor to break away from the GCN architecture, we could see more shaders and and faster clock speeds, while improving efficiency substantially. However, we don’t think AMD is going to be doing much to compete on the high-end with Nvidia this time around. AMD Vega 7nm, which would have the horsepower to compete with Nvidia Turing, won’t be coming to gamers. Instead, it will likely appeal more towards professionals and creatives – with Apple likely being a huge customer. In the past AMD would compete with high-end Nvidia GPUs by just shoving multiple chips into a graphics cards and passing it along as a enthusiast-grade GPU. This time around, though, AMD has made it clear that it’s not interested in making multi-GPU setups, according to a report from PCWorld. This is backed up by the fact that only two of the AMD Radeon RX 500 series cards were even compatible with Crossfire. So, instead of any high-end GPU, we’ll likely see a Radeon RX 600 series that’ll continue the legacy of cards like the AMD Radeon RX 580, delivering respectable performance in modern titles at 1080p while keeping prices attainable for more budget-conscious gamers. So instead of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti rival, think more Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 in terms of direct competition. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to keep waiting for concrete information on AMD Navi. But, until then, keep this page bookmarked for all the latest news, rumors and speculation. I don't really "upgrade" my rig in a big formal way, it's more of a piece meal swapping out of parts one by one, and right now I think it's pretty OP so I doubt that it'll be getting much attention for some time.  Unless Linus want's to pay me to do a crazy upgrade.
