I was thinking about the book store my self. Custom pcs etc are too "typical", most students choose this type of stores, so I'd rather avoid them and do something more distinct

Most laptop adapters and laptops in general are meant to switch between voltages and cycle rates.
Just make sure the laptop and the power adapter can do various voltage and cycle rates, but otherwise she should be fine.

I was 17, I had some experience since I used to open my older pc all the time and everything went pretty good. There was one thing tha scared me though, I forgot to plug the cpu 8 pin connector and the pc stucked in a boot-loop. At first I thought that I broke something, it was an expensive build, around 1000 euros and my parents didn't want me to build it alone, because they didn't think I could do it so I had to prove them wrong. Thankfuly, upon opening the case I saw that I had forgotten to plug the 8-pin.
