    2.5" inch SSD dont normally get above 45'c depends where you live but M.2 seems to get a lot warmer. but like Swes said they like to run @ 40-50'c and if they get too cold it can be bad for its lifetime. I live in aus and it can get to 40'c outside easy so I need a decent heatsink to keep temps between 50-60'c

    I found out my evo 970 was getting up to 70'c while gaming so i put a EK M.2 heatsink on it and problem solved cost like $15 bucks and with decent airflow works like a dream

    if your only doing a small oc I normally leave it auto and just monitor the voltage when stress testing, the problem is the voltage can vary a bit if you leave it on auto and some motherboards will go over 1.4v for no reason or drop to low and make the OC unstable. so for more stability its a good idea to set a solid voltage in the bios

    I've got a unused 4 core cpu at 5ghz. and from what I can see I would get a better quality and preforming stream using that over its igpu surely? just quicksync seems the worst quality out of x264 or even nvenc

    So I want to use my spare pc with i5 7600k @5Ghz and rx 570 4gb was a dedicated streaming pc. and I can't decide if I should get a HD60 which uses a inbuilt h.264 encoder or a HD60s with has no encoder and relies on the cpu to do the work. basically I'm asking which will give me better quality results?

    I reckon its a driver problem, what cpu do you have does it have integrated graphics?

    try plugging into the motherboards video outputs to get into the pc the remove the old drivers for you old GPU and install the new ones for the 2080ti off nvidia website. also when you say it wont display anything does the pc turn on and gpu fan spins and monitor picks up a signal but its just a blank screen or does it pick up no signal

    that's the why it should be, is it only Z boards for 170 or can any if they got a update. also Is it 270 to 370 that isn't compatible according to intel then?

    I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a 2050 ti might be a over a year away, buy a 1060 6gb or a 1070ti which ever you can afford they are the best bang for buck atm (depending where you are)

    I would try get a 6gen i7 and another 8gb of ram. I dont think you can put a i5 7600 in the same as a i3 6100 i think it needs the 270 chipset.

    so I just checked and my 500D does not have a HDD LED never noticed before

    I zoomed and enhanced and looks like there is a reset switch on the far right, looks similar design to my corsair 500D reset switch just a tiny little black circle. Conclusion is, i'm 100% sure this case has a reset switch

    on most laptops only one M.2 slot is pcie speeds the other is sata so thats something to consider, I looked on the lenovo website for your laptop and i think yours is like that ( https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-x/ThinkPad-X1-Carbon-6th-Gen/p/22TP2TXX16G its under techspecs) so check what speed you current ssd, if its pcie speed I would get a 1tb samsung 860 evo, if its sata speeds get what ever 970evo you can afford

    I just looked on corsairs website at the tech spec for that case and in the photos is clearly shows the case having a reset sw plug for the motherboard so you should be able to reset the pc somehow have you tried holding the power switch for 5 secs so what happens?

    this is really weird i deffs though one of the solutions above would of fixed it, If I was you I would check bois make sure no weird fan control in there ( shouldn't be tho normally can only control ones plugged into fan headers) then try msi again with nothing else running. if that doesn't work and you really don't want to take it back to the store yet to get replaced. clean install windows and set bios back to default, install afterburner and hope for the best. best of luck my dude

    I believe the problem is he can set the fans to a certain speed that works but it wont change from that. and if he sets a fan profile the go up in speed but the dont go back down. also his monitoring software bug out and display 0rpm when he trys to use a fan profile. is this correct mate?

    try msi afterburner maybe I used that for years on heaps of different cards and never had a problem. Im using it on my gigabyte g1 gaming 1080 to control fan speed. I have had heaps of problems with speedfan not working right and not reading fans right. I also found the gigabyte extreme software was only good for setting the graphic cards rgb then uninstall that piece of trash

    my i5 7600k overclocked to 5ghz barely bottlenecked my 1080 only in really cpu intensive games, you should be fine with the i7 4790k. if you can get a vega 56 and like overclocking and can get it for a decent price I would say try get that, but a 1070ti will always give you better fps and you can overclock it to basically a stock 1080

    If you run i7 4790k with a 1070ti at 1440p you wont ever bottleneck anything but the gpu
