  1. welp, figured it out. Put an old 970 in and everything works. I guess the 1660S died after 1 post. Already had a slight feeling it was a previous RMA unit or something as it had screwmarks on the PCIe slot bracket. Thanks for your non-answer I guess
  2. Yeah no sh-t. Thats why I wondered if a GPU can just literally stop working due to drives-addition or some new driver install gone wrong. I only had to reseat GPU for m.2 install, connected a SATA cable and connected 3 fans to headers; nothing else got touched
  3. Heya! Just finished building my temporary pc untill i get my 5900X and 3080. Boots on first try, I install windows and download some drivers (amd cpu software and geforce experience and some mobo stuff); everything was fine. Now I restarted to add my other drives and the last of my fans. On startup it cycles through postcodes untill it reaches AA, which should mean all is fine (if im correct). Everything seems to turn on (lights / fans) EXCEPT the GPU; no lights, no fans, nothing. So no inputs on my monitor or anything. Is it because I added more drives (1 m.2 and 1 sata HDD), which seems illogical; or because some drivers on restart went bad, or something else? I already tried reseating GPU with a new cable, but still doesn't work. Specs: MSI GTX 1660super Gaming X Ryzen 5 3600 X570 Strix-E Kraken X73 2x16 TridentZ NEO 3600C18 RM850x 970 EVO 500GB (windows drive, seated in m.2_2) ^^all worked, then added: XPG SX8200 Pro 2tb (just added (new) in m.2_1) WB Black 1TB ((old)just added) Maybe I missed something or maybe I am stupid, but I have no clue what could even be wrong; help!
  4. I have indeed been doing this the last 30 mins. It seems to be working. Almost all the noise is gone, just the pump vibrations now. Thanks
  5. It's not NZXT support, I ordered it at a pc watercooling store and this was their response.
  6. I emailed their RMA service with this video included. They said 'it is probably air bubbles that might disappear in a little while (shaking might help a bit)' Is this possible or ??
  7. Hello, Today was supposed to be awesome, as I would have finished my new pc, but I ran into a problem. My Kraken x52 makes a strange noise and the pump doesn't seem to work (no vibrations from the block), see attachment for a video. Also the temps in the bios go up fast, so something is obviously not working. I connected the SATA, USB 2 and fan header. Other people found that sometimes a fan header doesn't work with the pump, but when trying different ones the problem still occurs. Did I do something wrong or is it dead on arrival? 20181128_153535 (1).mp4
  8. Thanks for the replies. I'll be doing the drive swap now like you said. I'll keep you updated if something goes wrong.
  9. Hello, I couldn't quite find a guide for my situation, so I'm asking it here. I am building my new pc; everything new expect for the storage, which I use from my old pc. I have a SSD with windows 10 and a hard drive with other stuff. Now, I want to use these for my new pc but am not quite sure how to do it. I've read a fresh windows install is best, I can do this as I have a full license. So I will need to format my SSD and reinstall windows 10 on my new system. This is how I have read it should be done: Boot new pc from USB with windows ISO on it (SSD also connected), then you can wipe the SSD from there and install windows fresh on it. So it is possible to format the drive when choosing where to install windows? And I can just enter my old license key or do I need to 'recover' windows? Thanks (If I'm completely wrong here, how should it be done then?)
  10. No they are not. The 24pin, the EPS and the PCIe cables are the only cables wierdly colored and not modular. This is why I was looking into extensions. So I guess that, if I want to get rid of the bad looking cables, I'll have to buy a new PSU.
  11. I can see the 24 pin and EPS barely indeed, but this case (CM 690 III) is very dark and I want to go with something whiteish. In the jpg I attached you can see the main problem. (excuse the VERY poor quality, it's evening here and the lights in my room aren't great, so I grabbed a flashlight) The PCIe cable with all the loops and such is very much visible in this windowed case. Most cases these days have full tempered glass, so it will be even worse in my new case (NZXT H-series?).
  12. I actually thought of doing something diy, but.. ..custom cables do look great and are probably what I end up going with. I guess I could use the €65 if RAM or other prices go up again. Dunno for sure, but the V750 should last a good 10 years easily right?
  13. Hi there, Just shooting a personal dilemma your way since I don't have any friends that are into pc stuff My system is around 4 years old now and I am looking for an upgrade on everything for the end of this year. I have a Cooler Master V750 (SEMI-modular, 2014) right now and it will be plenty for my potential new rig (9000 series and RTX if I can). My only issue with it is that, besides being semi-modular, it has macdonalds colored cables with this weird mesh around it. Since I want my new build to stick with me through university (next 5 years), I'd hate myself if I didn't do something about it. I believe I have 2 options; - I could get a new PSU; something like a Corsair RM750x is €100. (I could sell the old one, don't think for much tho) - Or I could get some Cablemod extensions for €35. (Although I think I'll go mATX, so it might be hard to fit it all in?) My issue here is that I feel that if I bought the extensions, I might as well spend the extra €65 on a fully modular PSU with already good cables. I want to know if that would be a misstep, so I guess my question is; would you spend the extra €65 in light of a ~€1800 build?
