  1. Yeah, i don't like using software control too, i'm probably going to contact MSI (thanks, i didn't think about it) and see if they reply me...
  2. I saw no options to switch to an "expert" mode only to use single features in advanced mode (mainly overclocking), and yes, i can't rollback to an older version because they changed the GUI along with adding the ryzen 3000 support.
  3. Hi everyone, i made a new office build including the new Ryzen 3400g and an MSI B450 MORTAR. It works pretty well but with the new updates of the MSI bios (they changed from the normal UI to the lite version) there are some issues with the speed of the cpu fan. I'm using the stock cooler and the fan RPM are much higher than they should be. It idles at 35-40C but the fan is spinning like crazy and in the new BIOS seems that msi removed all the options to regulate the fan RPMs, the air from the cooler is not hot at all an the heatsink is cool, so i guess that it's really going at a much higher RPM than it really needs. I've applied no overclocking except for the RAMs to which i've enableb xmp. Has anybody encountered this problem and know a possible fix? or do i have to wait for MSI to revert back to the non-lite GUI of the bios? Thanks in advance.
  4. Ok thanks, i'll try getting another probe as soon as i can.
  5. Nope, it's not overclocked, and unfortunately i broke the only temperature probe i had for my multimeter so i can't check the real temperature.
  6. Yeah, sorry, i forgot to put the temperatures. At idle: 30C While gaming: 80C The backplate is not simply "hot" it's very hot and i don't remember it being this hot before.
  7. Yes, from what i can see it seems that is making good contact.
  8. Hi, i have something weird happening to my 970, i had this GPU for around 2-3 years and I've never had problem with it but recently the temps while gaming are getting really high and i can't find the reason why this is happening, the strange thing is actually that the backplate gets really really hot and i can barely touch it for a couple of seconds and it started doing this some few months ago. I regularly change the thermal paste and the heat pads every year... Does someone have an idea of what may be causing this? Update:I had forgotten to put the temps: At idle:~30C While gaming: ~80C
