  1. I'll try get some mildly better photos 2moro, as well as check my bios - wallpaper engine is constantly running, and I'm on 64 bit windows
  2. Sorry about the god awful photos. Basically, for the last few weeks, whenever I close a game (9 times outta 10, overwatch) my pc will freeze, and loads of these little green artifacts will appear - sometimes the whole screen, sometimes only at the bottom, like you see here. Then the pc will remain frozen for a while, either BSOD, or I’ll restart it. for reference, this system has: r5 2600 kraken x61 msi tomahawk max 16gb Corsair 3200mhz 500gb Samsung ssd 1tb wd blue gtx 1080 oc ASUS strix corsair 450w sfx psu reasonably sure it’s the psu, but some forums mention memory as an issue? If anyone’s had this b4 would love some help
  3. Yeah. Theres some 1080s floating around on ebay for 250-300, but I wanna wait for black Friday
  4. Monitor is already here, doesn't need to be budgeted in, he says he wants to play high settings or competitive, so epic view distance everything else trash. I think it's a 1660ti and a 2600?
  5. I am starting a build for my younger brother, who wants to get into pc gaming instead if just using my pc. He has a budget of roughly £600 and just wants to play 3 games at 144fps Fortnite- mainly high settings, epic view distance, no shadows Csgo Rocket league 1080p 144hz monitor. Is it possible to get that many frames at this budget??
  6. the 2080 makes almost no sense now though, im told its better to get a 2070 super, but i want the extra power of a 2080 super. ty for the ideas. im told b450 kinda limits new chips. ALso would it be woth it to get a fluid gaming kit? probs the a240
  7. I am building a new pc ( wait... now that I say that it seems kinda obvious....well here we are). Anyway . 1080p 240fps and 1440p 144fps games. Mainly csgo , overwatch, my younger brother plays Fortnite on my current pc, battlefield V and some rise of the tomb raider. I also stream and do some *LIGHT* video editing/ photo editing (though not enough I think to warrant a 3700x) .This is clearly enough for those games, and to run what I want to run. I also know I overspent on the motherboard. I already have the psu so no way to change that. Other than that what do you guys recommend? The cpu light on the motherboard is red. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that's a bad thing http://imgur.com/gallery/jLrdTSq Video of it trying to post

How would I know if it's a dead cpu? Because everything not associated with cpu (lighting and fans) is working. Without anything else to test with is there any way to be sure

One of the fans now spins up. No change in anything else

So I just took some of the parts from my old pc, and put them in a new, smaller chassis with a new motherboard and psu Ryzen 5 2600 Kraken m22 Asus b450 I strix 16gb corsair vengeance lpx Samsung 860evo sata ssd Zotac gtx 1080 amp Phanteks evolve shift Corsair sf450 I hit the power button, gpu+ radiator fan spins up (the other two dont) motherboard lights come on, none of the graphics card lights do), the nzxt logo on the infinity mirror doesn't light up and it doesn't post. There are no beebs. One led does go from white (brief) to orange (longer) then to red before blacking out and switching back to white. What's the problem here and what can I do to fix it. My first build posted straight away, so I have never troubleshooter ever and am kind of losing my mind. Ty in advance
  12. But ty for the antistatic bit. That’s what I’m most losing it over. The pins are perfectly fine
  13. I was very delicate with the pins, looking at it it right now, none are bent or damaged in any way. I will test it on my new system before I send it. If it is dead is that rma-able or is that user error?
  14. I am selling my old cpu (R5 2600), and I was then shipping it to someone. To make it esd safe I thought I would put it in a Sainsbury’s sandwich bag. My friend then mentioned they generated static electricity and could kill the cpu. He mentioned this after I had put it in the bag and folded the bag up. Thanks friend..... but I need to know. Is my chip dead?
  15. 15 and a half, I’m paying for it out of my own pocket, and my desk is like 90% setup right now, 10% homework+ school books+ actual workspace. The pc tower is huge and obvious and they don’t like it, so agreed to sell the big pc and buy a smaller, sleeker, slightly more powerful pc. Like the idea of just a cpu upgrade and keep 1080 at 1440p
  16. Thanks for the 5700xt tip and the other stuff
  17. Back to the it needs to be smaller cuz my parents dislike gaming.... itx? If so what case
  18. I’m listening ....say I were to keep everything, and just upgrade cpu+ gpu would I get anything near decent with a 2080/super?
  19. 75hz 4K battlefield 5, ultra settings
  20. It has been crashing in very low performance games. New cpu+ new gpu is a good point
  21. If it wasn’t an upgrade it would be a solid build then? I see ur point about sidegrades as well
  22. It needs to be smaller because I’m going into big exams this year and my parents want my desk to less “gaming” oriented, I want to play mainly battlefield 5 at 4K, so 2070 seemed a solid option, and the 1080 has been feeling really slow lately so I wanted to upgrade
  23. Right now I have an atx tower and it needs to be smaller, and I want to play rtx games
