  1. Any sort of languages you know will help in some way. Some more than others. You for sure want to have linux experience, networking experience, and work on basic security knowledge and obtain entry level certifications. A degree can help but may not be an option for all and for sure is not needed. Focus on Certs and possibly looking deep into what sort of field you want to go into. Whatever interests you more, defensive or offensive security. Sorry for replying to a month old thread was just searching through posts about Cybersecurity
  2. You will just need to flip the fans. They should also have an arrow on them that display which way the fan blades spin and the direction the air is flowing so you know specifically!
  3. @bestghost_potato I currently use the BenQ XL2411p, was running the older version for the longest time and needed an upgrade for one with a Display port. It works fine for my needs and only comes in at $200. I am sure you can get better though with that budget. I would not have other recommendations though sorry.
  4. Agreed, dont have experience with all these games but it should work well for things like csgo and overwatch. Those are very easy to get high frames in.
  5. I would think this will work just fine. What resolution is the monitor?
  6. Thank you so much for the suggestion! It seems to be working just fine although I do notice one issue. When I first start my pc or the monitor first comes on the extreme far right vertical line of pixels start flickering. Almost like a snow effect. It is very hard to see, but of course I notice it haha. It goes away after a few minutes but I am wondering if this is any sort of typical side effect you may have insight on. Hoping maybe nothing is wrong with my specific adapter.
  7. Oh haha, I should have taken a closer look your review comes out on top with my exact issue. I appreciate the help!
  8. I do not and am not currently able to tinker with it, here is a reddit post I found though discussing the thread launch option and it goes pretty in depth.
  9. This is the one I purchased https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DYRQXMK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  10. I am wondering if anyone can offer some input on this issue I am having. As if I can I would like to just use an adapter instead of having to upgrade my monitor. My current situation is I am running a BENQ XL2411 144Hz monitor. It worked perfectly with my amazon basic Dual link cable to my GTX 1070. I have since upgraded my build and no longer have a DVI port on my GPU. I thought all was fine and dandy and I bought an adapter. I foolishly did not check if it was dual link or not so I was not able to get 144hz with it. I ordered a new dual link adapter and just tried it. I am getting now a message that is not removable AFAIK, tried all sorts of settings, that is saying Incorrect Dual Link Cable use the one provided with the monitor. I thought okay lets try that. I actually was able to find that cable and attempted to use it with the adapter. Same message coming up. I would like to add I can get 144hz with the adapter just that pesky message is coming up. So it is obviously an issue with the adapter. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Whether that be an adapter that might not have these problems with my monitor, or a way to remove the message, or i guess if all else fails recommendations on some 24in monitors with similar specs but a display port instead
  11. I currently am running the 3900x with a 2080 Super. It works great in csgo ;P
  12. I would check out this video for general troubleshooting to see if it helps so you can get it to post. Possibly try removing one of the sticks of ram. Other than that I probably would not be of much more help sorry. Best of luck.
  13. Oops I misread. Ill be building my 3900x system tomorrow maybe ill mess around with it if I remember!
  14. I currently run a 1700x and play quite a bit of csgo. I have never attempted this but can try for you later today to see what happens. I do know though that there is currently issues with the game right not causing things like stutters and other graphical issues in game. Seems to be widespread and valve, I hope, are attempting to address it with updates.
