I am wondering if anyone can offer some input on this issue I am having. As if I can I would like to just use an adapter instead of having to upgrade my monitor.
My current situation is I am running a BENQ XL2411 144Hz monitor. It worked perfectly with my amazon basic Dual link cable to my GTX 1070. I have since upgraded my build and no longer have a DVI port on my GPU. I thought all was fine and dandy and I bought an adapter. I foolishly did not check if it was dual link or not so I was not able to get 144hz with it. I ordered a new dual link adapter and just tried it. I am getting now a message that is not removable AFAIK, tried all sorts of settings, that is saying Incorrect Dual Link Cable use the one provided with the monitor. I thought okay lets try that. I actually was able to find that cable and attempted to use it with the adapter. Same message coming up. I would like to add I can get 144hz with the adapter just that pesky message is coming up.
So it is obviously an issue with the adapter. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Whether that be an adapter that might not have these problems with my monitor, or a way to remove the message, or i guess if all else fails recommendations on some 24in monitors with similar specs but a display port instead
