  1. I think I just saw that retro CD drive in an LGR video today. Also, that adapter looks very promising! Thanks so much! Does it also have a 3.5 inch adapter for floppy?
  2. I'm an oldschooler, I still have tape players in my cars xD I don't really use CDs but I like having the option. Espically sense Blu Rays can store like 50GBs. I like to record gameplay and stuff and that would free up SO MUCH hard drive space. Or even just archiving space.
  3. I mean I just want to mount it in a PC case easily. I know some Lian Li cases have a 12.7mm slot in the front of the case, but I don't know what case I'm gonna use in the future.
  4. Hey I've been casually looking around for a CD drive upgrade because I've had the same LG tray loading drive since 2014. Does anyone even make a 5.25" slot loading drive? OR one that's at least made to go in a standard PC case with 5.25" drive bays? If not, is it worth buying the 12.7mm ones and find an adapter? Do adapters like that even exist? Update: They do! You just need the correct terminology, you're looking for Slim optical drive adapters. Some exist on Ebay (I do not condone this seller this is just an example) https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5-Ultra-Slim-ODD-CD-DVD-to-5-25-Internal-Laptop-Hard-Disk-Drive-Adapter/324054666373 Update 2: I found the original manufactuer. They're called ICY Dock. They sell server adapters and stuff. If you're going down this rabbit hole like me, you can buy from them on amazon. Here's one with only a 12.7mm bay face plate and can apparently hold like 4 SSDs? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H2H2ZPC/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07H2H2ZPC&linkCode=as2&tag=icydock-20&linkId=3ede538ed29b7db53196dfbff872f72b
  5. So recently my ROG 1 was in a terrible accident, screen dead, back cracked to hell. The shit I've tried to get the data off this thing with no screen is short of obnoxious. I bought the Desktop Dock to see into the device and use my mouse, only to find that I can't transfer files through it or the phone when it's docked. Now I'm gonna basically have to get a usb to USB 3.0 hub and click blindly hoping to hit the confirm button. So, here's my crazy idea: MAKE A PHONE WITH M.2. OR ANYTHING STANDARD THAT WE CAN JUST REMOVE AND PLUG INTO A COMPUTER. CRAZY RIGHT??? And for those that are telling me I should've backed up, yeah sure I'll just find a spot for 145gbs of data no problem.
  6. So I'm about 5 or 6 hours into Amnesia Rebirth and suddenly at this one section full of props and water, my computer will reset. Not just crash to blue screen, or lock up forcing a restart. It turns itself off suddenly and restarts itself. My first thought was a PSU issue (850i corsair) but, it's not that hot to the touch, and the only thing drawing power is my 2080ti trio (running at stock other than a modifieid fan curve) so I don't think it's overcurrent or overtemp protection. Can a game have a software error that causes this? I'm very confused.
  7. So I just upgraded my rig, Maximus XI formula, 9900k, 64gb trident z rgb ram, 2080ti gaming trio. For some reason, the only two issues I seem to be having are in windows, for some reason it keeps randomly switching audio devices and asking me what I plugged in. And the other issue is WiFi, I'm trying to use a USB stick I used before I upgraded the system for installing, and it and the on board wifi keep fighting for control. When I finally disabled the on board WiFi, my USB stick started just not connecting or detecting my wifi. I'm not sure if the wifi issues are anything to worry about but the audio is I think. One thing I know is I'm using a really old case and I don't have the manual (CM Storm Trooper) and perhaps I plugged in the wrong audio cable? I plugged HD audio in on the mother board and left the AC 97 or whatever it's called unconnected. Please help
  8. Hi, so basically, out of no where in the last 3 days my computer has had apps like chorme and discord just randomly freeze and blackout while playing minecraft. I legit have no idea what's going on, other than I noticed after the apps crash, in task manager, it says windows suspended a process to "improve performance." Minecraft takes up at best 5/16Gbs of ram I have, and it does put a heavy load on the CPU, but it's never been enough to effect anything else on the system. Why is windows randomly killing processes for other programs and causing them to crash? Why did it only start on legit April 1st? How do I stop this?
  9. How can windows install the driver if you don't have internet?? I'm currently stuck in limbo with this thing, I can't get any drivers at all for anything.
  10. So if I disconnect the drive I want to remain untouched, install windows 10 on my current boot drive, and then add it back into windows 10, it'll see it and not require a drive wipe? And be fully readable, no errors or incompatibilities? (Other than the registry edits which is fine all the stuff I have is like archives and not fully installed) Sorry to basically re-ask but I want to make sure we're saying the same things.
  11. So upon two brief google searches and some prior knowledge I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but might as well check. When installing Windows 10, can you just add drives into 10 after the install with data on them? I have like, a terabyte of images and programs that are no longer available that I need to transfer into 10 and was kinda hoping I could just throw the hard drive in and get the data super easy. If I can't do that, is there a tool to read hard drives like a usb device so I don't need to go use like 100 google accounts to back up and redownload this data?
  12. I've basically cleaned everything, except the AIO. I've replaced the GPU, installed a new drive, took the ram drives and GPU out. But because I'm worried it could break, if I were to touch it, I've just been leaving it be. The CM Trooper also has a dust filter on like every intake so it doesn't get that dirty inside like, ever.
  13. The title kinda says it all, but a little bit more context may change the answer so, here it is. I got a full computer from a closing tiger direct in like 2014 or 15, and it may have been a display computer before I got it for who knows how long. The computer has been running like a trooper (funny because of the case) but after 5 years I'm getting worried about how dusty the radiator could be (peering in I can see some dust), if the liquid managed to slowly leak or evaporate out even though it's a "Closed System" and I'm worried about how many more rotations that pump has on it. If anyone could advise me on this I'd love the help!
