Google ad division unhappy about sales numbers.
Google Chrome division puts in a built in adblocker that whitelisted their ads.
Then they broke Google websites in Edge to the point Microsoft adopted Chromium.
Then they break 3rd party adblockers.
Then they break Google websites in Firefox until its no longer a good experience for the average user.
Then average user is on Chrome with no adblocker but built in that whitelists their ads (not their competitors!).
Then Google Ad Division gets a 15% profit spike.

Chett_Manly got a reaction from Ashley MLP Fangirl in The 2018 Butterfly Keyboards still have a problem
Yes, but they would have fixed it before they launched a new one. Not kept using it year after year. Holding it wrong wasn't a 4 generation issue as Butterfly Keyboards are looking to be.

Chett_Manly got a reaction from Zando_ in The 2018 Butterfly Keyboards still have a problem
Steve Jobs wouldn't have let this happen. The bad design would have been rectified after the 2016 MBP issues. Tim Cook is not retaining Apple's once high standards.

They have become just like the PC makers, if something sucks they just keep using it for a few iterations before fixing it.

Butterfly keyboards for Apple, nose angled web cams for Dell, lack of Thunderbolt for Microsoft.. None of them seem to care to fix a device's shortcomings before the 3 or 4th generation after they are introduced.

Chett_Manly got a reaction from Carclis in Jensen Huang (Nvidia CEO) Responds to AMD, " it's underwhelming-- We'll crush it"
Yes the 2080 is not a great product. Though at least you have some features that might be of use one day.

This also doesn't make the Radeon VII any better. If anything the Radeon VII is a 1080ti competitor launched at the RTX inflated price point. It is not a good product either.

Both of them fail to deliver a performance increase per dollar over the previous generation. Which is quite the FU to consumers.

Chett_Manly got a reaction from Morgan MLGman in Come on Huawei... Huawei general sales director in Poland gets arrested under charges of spying for China
If they are doing it in Poland, they have to be doing it everywhere right? Not to be mean to Poland, but its not a military, economic, or strategically powerful country. So if they are bothering to use Huawei as a front to commit espionage against Poland, it then can be almost taken on faith that every country where Huawei has inroads likely has Chinese agents at work.

Its not that hes calling the 2080 performance lousy, hes calling a 7nm card with 16gb of HBM2, a higher power draw, and no transistors spent on RTX or Tensor Cores, having 2080 performance lousy. Which it is!

What has happened I think is AMD never thought they will be able to sell this profitably as a gaming card.

But since Nvidia has pushed up prices so much (the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080ti are so expensive) that it allows AMD room to sell this as a high end gaming card at $700.

It surprised AMD themselves, so Nvidia's continuous price inflation every generation has benefited AMD this time, although it is really damaging PC gaming overall.

it was a wash really, 2057 vs 2040 isnt really much of a win. Basically a tie in my eyes. Also it was in the Multi Threaded performance.. not single threaded which is where AMD has always really lacked. Its still really to early to get hyped up about it to really know if its going to be as good as leaks/rumors are making it out to be.

Chett_Manly got a reaction from Mutoh in What do people hate about Apple?
To put it bluntly I don't feel like they value their customers. I think OS lock in and iOS being more important has led them to just take Mac customers for granted.

I see this in how they do not support their products, routinely denying issues, like with the terrible butterfly keyboards failing, and then them adding a dust filter with the next generation, but won't fess up the reason was to fix the dust breaking the keyboard.

I also see it in the lack of options in the Mac space. Mac Mini abandoned for years. Mac Pro abandoned for years. MacBook Pro reduced to a machine no longer really suitable for pro work. As the LTT video pointed out, you can't even trust in being able to recover your data if your logic board goes out. In a pro machine. That's insane!

Then you have the pricing. Why does the entry level MacBook Pro cost $2400 to get a 15 inch? To move up 2 inches in display size your base cost increases by $1100. And even then, that $15 inch is so underspec'd compared to PC makers products. 1/2 the ram, 1/4 the storage of a Dell XPS15.

    Limited options, all overpriced.
