Man this thing is pretty ugly but thanks to Halo coming to PC at long last there's no reason for me to get an Xbox, so PS5 it is for ratchet and clank and hopefully new god of war 2

I think it is all PR, the same happens every console cycle, they say its going to be a revolution and it is somewhat but never is to the point the marketing says.

This new tech is very impressive and should help move things forward for everyone and i think that is something we should celebrate, but at the same time take all of this with a handful of salt. This is nothing more than an advert to say how great Epic is and that the PS5 is going to be more expensive than ever and there is a reason for that, its going to be much better than previous consoles. While i know i will get a PS5 i wont on day one, my PC will way out perform it and no titles will be out that anyone in reality will care about or could just simply wait for. I think this will be interesting to watch and see how this new tech will be implemented and what flavour they chose, because there are going to be a few for each platform. None the less its great to see things moving forward and i think we can all admit Epic made a great video that makes us all very hopeful for whats to come.

I love the DS4 over any xbox controller but this is a bit of love and hate, i dont like the curvy look and feel. But i must say i am extremely happy with the addition of the USB type C charge port. That was the only pit fall of the DS4. Overall i am feeling positive about this one and i hope all the work on their part pays off.

If you just want case fans that will last the Corsair ML fans are always a good choice but that are pricey. Silence and durability come at a cost. I have not regretted them one bit.

Update BIOS to F40 and drop a Ryzen 5 3600 in there.  Should be all set then for a low spend.

Bravo1cc reacted to Fasauceome in What exactly is VRAM for? ?
The VRam amount doesn't determine performance, unless you're using all of it. A task that needs 8GB of Vram will do a lot better when actually supplied with that ram. However, gaming doesn't actually need all that much ram. Certain examples in gaming have cropped up (friend of mine said plains of Eidolon was eating up his 1070's Vram like crazy) but in the vast majority of examples, 4GB to 6GB seems to be plenty. Only in higher resolutions (therefore larger file sizes to handle) do higher Vram amounts come into play.

Bravo1cc got a reaction from Fasauceome in HHD 4TB+ OEM Minefield
Thanks, there is a big issue in the UK it seems at the moment that bulk order non retail drives are being sold to regular customers that have a warranty that neither retailer or manufacture will honour. I normally don't have an issue buying things but it seems a real issue at the moment. I have checked many sites and see the part as non OEM and then seeing a review with there drive failing and they cannot get a replacement as its an OEM drive and as above they cannot get a refund nor a replacement.

When I still had my 2600 at my house and was building my work ITX pc, I threw my 2080ti in that box with the 2600.  At 1440p it's still GPU bottlenecked, CPU had room.  1080p high refresh that would obviously not be the case, but 1440p and especially 4k the midrange CPUs can handle just fine since itll be a guaranteed GPU bottleneck.  Might be some exception with esports at 1440p being that those can run in the 165 and beyond, but the people in the market for those frame rates know what they want.

The dark rock pro 4 is a great air cooler, but runs around $150 CAD.

Also, 70C is perfectly fine on a 2600, especially under load on a stock cooler. The max safe temp for a 2600 is 95C

    3600 IMO.

In the future if you get some more bucks and want to upgrade you could swap in a better AM4 socket CPU (of which you have many options).  Not to mention it is probably the best value CPU out there right now.

Additionally, if you have more money for GPU upgrades in the future, the 3600 will be good for pretty much any GPU (especially if that GPU leads to a resolution upstep to 1440p/4k in which case it will handle anything there).

Overall a better platform, more upgradability, especially if you are building a new from scratch I think its a no brainer

Working in the industry that proves software for businesses like this, its all to common that proper testing in a new system is not done.

Correct testing at implementation is key. Our motto where i work is quality over quantity. We would never let this get through and me ensure thorough testing is done before our clients push their system live. To me this sounds like a rushed change in software that could have been avoided if the correct testing and QA was taken by whom ever was the project manager.

A slump back to what prices were before. They had massive gains for quarter upon quarter when the DRAM market was sky high just a couple years ago. I feel no sympathy
