  2. Case : Deepcool CC560 A-RGB I connected that weird device to power using the same power cable that I use for my HDD and SATA ssd Didnt plug any other fan stuff. What do I do? All the fans RGB lights working but I want to control it and the case button called LED does nothing

  4. Thanks! Now I dont have to worry about dust blocking my m.2 slot from not recognizing my nvme ssd
  5. I got a small brush, smaller than a toothbrush so I'm coming back to your comment to read what to do and I dont understand this. Where am I supposed to brush? Dont scrub across the contacts of the slot? First I will dip the bristles of the brush into IPA My inital thinking is to start the top of the m.2 slot (close to the numbers) then try to get the bristles into the slot and slowly carefully and gently brush the dust onto the motherboard itself.
  6. Thank you! I was worried that dripping a little IPA was gonna ruin it but I did that 2 days ago so by now it has to be dried. I'll try your advice, thank you!
  7. I cleaned my motherboard, it was very dusty. Here is what it looked like close up This is what it looks like now after I used cotton swabs/buds and 91% isopropyl alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) and a can of compressed air which I used afterwards and at the start of the cleaning My m.2 slot was so dirty. I used compressed air, I took a cotton bud, dipped it in isopropyl alcohol and dropped 5 droplets into the m.2 drive which I am not sure was a good idea now that I read it. This is what it looks like now : Is it possible to clean it even more? I cleaned my PC on Sunday, 25 June 2023 and I am expecting my new case to arrive tomorrow. Before I put the parts back in I will use the compressed air one more time on everything. How else can I clean it?
  8. My thoughts exactly. It also fits in the socket just like my straight pinned Ryzen 3400G I dont like touching electronics I'm not comfortable with. Thats also why I'm not opening up my power supply. I've heard its very dangerous Thanks for the help! You've put my mind at ease
  9. I hope so! I'll only be using my parts again Monday or Tuesday when the case arrives. I've seen people cut off pins off CPUs and they still boot at least. Worse case scenario I have to bend it straight? I think it'll be fine though.
  10. My R7 5700X pin is bent, the one all the way to the right It still fits in the cpu socket and I also have my old R5 3400G. I put that one in the socket too and it gives the same amount of give/movement/sway in the socket Been using this cpu for a month and I am getting a new case and cpu cooler tomorrow so I'm cleaning all my parts. Maybe the bend eas always there? 20230625_124858_1.mp4 Are small bent pins like this an issue? MSI B450 tomahawk motherboard
  11. Ahh I see , you actually reminded me of something. I should boot from the original SSD drive because its possible the nvme might be faulty if I'm unlucky. When I make sure the PC is running fine then I should continue with the fresh install. Changing boot priority then going straight into windows installer. I really want to start my pc from scratch again so I'll just format the drives in the windows installer. Thanks!
  12. I am buying a new case, cpu cooler and getting a 2tb m.2 NVMe ssd I have free time today so I will clean the computer later today but I have questions about reinstalling windows I have a bootable usb drive. Today I will take apart the pc,clean it and only put it back together when I get the new case and nvme tomorrow or tuesday When I shutdown the pc today. Should I change the boot priority and put usb flash drive as #1 boot priority? Next time I turn this computer on I want to immediately wipe my 256GB SSD and HDD in the windows installer along with installing windows on my nvme I also heard I should restore my bios settings to default to avoid issues. No I didnt do any overclocking. Just XMP for ram and enabling SAM
  13. Do I have to format my SSD and HDD before I put in my bootable windows USB drive or can I do it while in the process of reinstalling windows with the USB? Currently windows is on my 256GB SATA ssd. I want to format all my drives and fresh install it on my new NVMe
  14. I'm from South Africa so pricing is very different here with some things Samsung 970 1TB costs 90 USD 2TB klevv I linked costs 97 USD Kingston 1tb nv2 costs 53 USD hikivision and 1tb klevv costs 43 USD WD blue sn570 1tb costs 60 USD I'd prefer to spend a little on 1tb nvme or go for the listed 2tb klevv How fast will the klevv gen 4 nvme be on my gen 3 b450 tomahawk slot?
  15. Thanks! I'm on my way to watch a bunch of sata ssd vs nvme for my use case, gaming. So far looks like it doesnt matter but I still will be going for an NVMe because I like having no cables. I'll check the link and I'll make sure my pick has DRAM cache and has the capacity I want. 1TB
  16. I am revamping my pc. At first I bought all the cheapest parts I could get. Now after upgrading my cpu/gpu I'll be replacing my stock cooler, case and getting an NVMe instead of using my HDD Case : Deepcool CC560 RGB CPU cooler : Deepcool AK400 I need help deciding which nvme to get. These are my options : If I go for 1TB : Kingston NV2 1TB nvme https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-2280-Internal-SNV2S-1000G/dp/B0BBWH1R8H&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjRp4Cy99j_AhUbRUEAHXe8Bk8QFnoECAkQAg&usg=AOvVaw04UsOS-34y_r9GXLChZJz_ Hikivision E3000 1TB https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.amazon.com/HIKVISION-E3000-Internal-Memory-3500MB/dp/B09NBYS1G7&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjB3tHJ99j_AhXDS0EAHVu6DRkQFnoECAkQAg&usg=AOvVaw108nE-fQxNdM5MkpsXEDm0 KLEVV CRAS C700 RGB 960GB https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/klevv-cras-c700-rgb-ssd Cant find amazon link If I decide to spend more for 2TB : Klev cras c720 https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.amazon.com/KLEVV-3400MB-3100MB-Internal-K02TBM2SP0-C72/dp/B095YT15QB&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwi3j9jR-Nj_AhVLUMAKHSq1BwcQFnoECAEQAg&usg=AOvVaw3i1N4sDwHp1S6FnIr-3WpC Will I be making a mistake by buying any of these NVMe drives? Are any of them bad? Should I just get a 1tb SATA instead? Which 1TB drive would you recommend. I'm just interested in gaming. My HDD is really slow in comparison to anything I buy
  17. Short version TLDR at the bottom Full Specs : Ryzen 7 5700X RX 6600 2x 8GB 3200mhz DDR4 ram B450 Tomahawk mobo PSU : Super Flower Leadex || 80 Plus Gold Certified I'm using the stock cooler that came with my Ryzen 5 3400G 256GB SATA SSD for windows + 1 game 1TB WD BLUE HDD I am using the cheapest case I could find. I've been using the PC since August 2019 I want to fix up my PC and make it look good and peform well. I've just upgraded from a RX 570 (4GB) and a 3400G What parts should I replace? I'm planning to keep my PSU, stock cpu cooler, I can emulate switch games at 2k resolution (1080p monitor) and my cpu temps are just fine and I want to keep my mobo and others that are not listed under : Parts I want to replace or add on to. I need to replace my case and I only have one m.2 slot so I think I should get a 2TB nvme. Question2 :My PC has been in very dusty conditions for the first 2 years and I've had it since 2019. When I cleaned the cpu cooler heatsink with a hair pin it was so dusty I am not sure if any air could even flow through. My mobo is also very very dusty, the PSU (would never open this up) and HDD (because its sealed quite well, right?) shouldnt need cleaning I think. My main issue is how dusty my mobo is. Also when I put my new cpu on I used too much thermal paste and it overflowed a little onto the mobo. Is it possible to clean the board thoroughly? What would I need to do? What do you think? Do I need to replace other parts? TLDR : It think the only parts I need to add or replace is a new case and a 2TB NVME. Can I just buy the cheapest 2TB or 1TB nvme I can find in store? Does brand matter?Recommendations? Do I need to replace any other parts?
  18. I edited the post,I am helping my brother by replacing some of my parts and handing it down to him. I do see your point, the motherboard does not need replacing. I've done the bios update and am using it right now
  19. Parts I will not be upgrading : Ryzen 7 5700X RX 6600, bought this cpu/gpu this week Will be keeping 2x 8GB 3200mhz G.Skill , but if u tell me that the 3200mhz is not enough I have a budget of 500 USD but would prefer to be well under it while still upgrading my parts Parts I want to replace : MSI B450 tomahawk 1 TB HDD, I want a 1 TB m.2 PSU Case And I want 32GB of ram, currently I have 2x 8GB 3200mhz which I dont know if I should add to that or replace it for higher mhz ram I am still using my CPU cooler that came with my Ryzen 5 3400G,should I replace it? Recommendation if I should please I left out a detail,I am replacing these perfectly alright parts because I am helping my brother by giving him the parts I will be replacing.
  20. Ryzen 7 5700X Currently have an RX 570 and I am upgrading to an RX 6600 in a week's time Do I have to uninstall my gpu drivers? The AMD radeon software If I had to,would using Display Driver Uninstaller be the right way to do so? Or dont I have to worry about that since its an AMD card?
  21. PC wont boot after I replaced my old ryzen 3400g for a Ryzen 7 5700X Specs : MSI B450 Tomahawk RX 570 (4GB) 2x 8GB 3200Mhz DDR4 ram I have the latest bios update and latest mobo chipset drivers before I installed CPU Tried taking cmos out for 5 min Tried removing a ram stick, no luck
  22. There is no bios update that got released 7/25/2022 The one I need got released on 08/15/2022 But the version before that was in 2020 Is there any harm in trying to update to a bios u already have?
  23. THANKS Do u know if it matters or not whether the PC needs to be perfectly cooled down to insert a new cpu?
  24. https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/msi-b450-tomahawk/cpu my MSI B450 tomahawk is compatible with this cpu on my desk but I need to make sure Im on the updated bios version 72C02v1I (last 2 characters are 1 and a capital i) On my PC it always says build 1.I0 Do I have to worry about the zero they added? It says 1i and there is only 1 bios file that ends in 1i with my mobo. Just trying to make sure that I do in fact have the bios version required for my 5700X Also, My pc has been on for 30 minutes now. Do I have to wait for it to coolddown until I can replace the CPU?
