  1. Most people don't own hundreds of computers.
  2. I am skipping the first rtx gen because clearly this launch has demonstrated all the negativity that typically associated with early adoption. You pay an early adoption tax, poor game support at the early onset, and bad drivers. If RTX is the future, it will be ready with the 21xx gen.
  3. FTW3 has better cooling, but usually more expensive.
  4. My 2nd PC ever, did not know my cpu cooling fan failed because of the amount of dust collected. Thought it was a software issue and tried to reinstall window, took all night and barely got anywhere because it was thermal-throttled to hell. Credit to the AMD Thunderbird chip survived.
  5. If you are playing MMO or more cpu intensive games like total war series, maybe. But if you are playing more graphic intensive games like shooters, then probably not.
  6. Too many unknown But what we can learn from history is that the RTX seem to be a breakthrough tech, and with any breakthrough tech, there are growing pains involved in the name of the early adopter tax, lackluster gaming support, and unoptimized driver. Knowing this, I took a plunge on a 1080ti recently after the mining craze has died down and pricing on gpu has stabilized again. If you don't mind the hassle/risk involved in purchasing 2nd hand, wait until new card launched and people replace their old gpu with the newest one and the 2nd hand card flood the market.
  7. Apple was too tied to Jobs, it's like joining a cult.
  8. I am not really sure, but I would like to see either nvidia or amd come up with a driver/tech that would allow people with integrated graphics to make use of it, as an example, work like how physx card use to work so you can get a few extra fps from your dedicated card not having to run physx anymore.
  9. Pure speculation here but I wonder if this scenario is true, how people would react: 20xx gen card performs in terms of fps, marginally better than the 10xx gen (within 10%) but provide much better quality graphics (RT, DLAA, etc...) I think the previous generations are easier to understand from a $ per frame point of view. But I think what nvidia are selling this time is that you might be getting just a little bit more frames, but you are getting better quality ones. And this is what is frustrating for the consumers because it's not the same as before.
  10. Come back when it's available on the market and credible reviewers can get their hands on them and give us real performance information. Or else you are just getting crystal ball answers at this point in time.
  11. "NVIDIA RTX 2080 Time Spy preliminary benchmark leaked – 37% faster than a GTX 1080 and 6% faster than a GTX 1080 Ti without using AI core (DLSS)" https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-3dmark-timespy-score-leaked-clocked-at-2ghz-and-beats-a-gtx-1080-ti-without-ai-cores/ I think this creates more questions than it answers. Really muddies the water for consumers as to the values of the new gpu vs the old.
  12. The link you have for the Acer Predator XB271HU is a TN panel. (XB271HU Abmiprz) The one you want is Predator XB271HU bmiprz, which is what I use now and am very happy with it.
  13. Get the 1080ti now and wait for a more optimized/efficient Raytracing tech with better game/driver support with RTX21xx series.
