  1. I got the AM4 bracket included in the box. Do u know how Rust treats Ryzens atm? I remember huge problems with fps and core utilisation.
  2. That's what I wanted to do but irl stuff got messed up so I won't have enough free time to do that, that's why I asked here.
  3. Since I'm not exactly able to check prices (especially in $ or £), I'd say my budget is all the way up to the price of 9900k for cpu alone.
  4. At first I wanted to go for another Intel's chip (9700K at least), but seeing recommendations towards AMD I'm kinda confused rn. My current cooler is SPC Navis 240 and id like to keep it. My target: no video editing, no rendering, purely gaming at 1440p@144hz(almost every new AAA title, but games that I play when I finish AAA's are Rust, Overwatch and League) Which CPU would be the best choice? (also, my gpu is 1080 TI, which will get an upgrade at new gen)
  5. It isnt listed on site, but i found an amazing deal, so i thought id ask. EDIT: nvm
  6. I also have the A12, but it's 140 mm. There isn't almost any difference between stock fan and the S12A.
  7. I used Kryonaut Thermal Grizzly. How do I increase the pump speed?
  8. Today I received my order with Navis 280 for my CPU (which works flawless, I love it!) and a G12 + H55 for my Aorus 1080 TI. I got annoyed by the way I had to mount the AiO in the bracket, but I made it. Previously on Heaven Benchmark on stock cooler I maxed out at 73 degrees, now after launching the benchmark my temps jump instantly +20 degrees to 55, then they slowly go up till like 65 (changed stock Corsair fan for a Noctua NF-S12A, connected to 3 pin for best results). Notice, that my case is open since I wanted to test how everything works, and my plan to mount the H55 as exhaust is going to make temps even worse. At 1st start I hit 71 degrees on the GPU. Edit: H55 just went crazy about making burpling sound that I thought its leaking all over the place, but it stopped after like 1 minute. Also, the tubes are pretty hot while my Navis almost doesn't get hot at all.
  9. took out both big and cmos battery, did not help at all reseatting also doesnt seem to work
  10. Im using an unlocked bios which supports all the cpus up to extreme editions. Also, i found a one topic that guy upgraded from 330m to i7-740qm and it worked fine for him instantly.
  11. Laptop turns on for 0.5s, then instantly turns off. I changed from i3-380M to i7-720QM (laptop has other versions and one of them has this i7). Some people had the same problem, but those questions are like +5 years old and mostly they did not receive any answer. Also this laptop has 2 versions of motherboard, KL3 and KL3A, but they are built in the same way, is that a problem?
  12. I flashed a modded bios that has options even for Extreme Edition CPU's.
  13. I forgot about my laptop since ive got a PC, but recently i came back to it. Reinstalled Windows and changed HDD to SSD, and its been doing great. But, my laptop has an i3-380m, and its socket is PGA988A. So there is my question, can i upgrade it to all CPU's that can fit into this socket, or i can only upgrade to those that Lenovo has put in other versions of this laptop?
  14. I dont really think its a bottleneck in 1440p tho, i play mostly gpu intensive games.
  15. Im not ocing, im using a Shadow Rock 2 and my cpu temps werent ever that high. It doesnt throttle or go that high in games tho, mostly below 82 degrees.
  16. They are plugged into SYS_FAN1 and SYS_FAN2 to my mobo. I see a small increase in Furmark test for the GPU, and i cant run any cpu test cause it instantly jumps to 96-97 degrees.
  17. What do you mean by headers? My specs are I7-4790k with a 1080 TI, after playing some Overwatch and Rust i see a small increase in temperatures over how it was before changing fans. My CPU temps are also way more unstable than before (tend to jump by ~8 degrees a lot, it wasnt like that before). I wasnt setting/changing fan curve yet.
  18. Gigabyte Z97-HD3, and i dont have any fan controller. I had to use the header cause my board got only 2 PWM pins (so one is for both intake fans and the other one is for exhaust fan).
  19. Ive had 3 random no name fans that werent even the same model (they were taken from very old zalman budget case), and they were 3 pins. Now i got 3 noctua fans (2xNF-A14 for intake and NF-S12A for exhaust, all PWM), but the temps didint improve. They also work in a werid way - the fans work at the same speed all the time, but after a while of load they ramp up instantly to like 80% (without anything inbetween). I also had to connect NF-A14 together with fan Y header that was in the box with fans. It seems like my temperatures actually increased (and the fans are louder too). Whats the matter?
  20. Worked, but then it went again to 4,4 GHz, even in idle. Looked up in power plans and on balanced, cpu's minimum state was set to 100%. Got it fixed, thanks for help.
  21. Not really, but i bought it used, so i thought it might cause problems in the future.
