  1. SOLVED It turns out it was indeed a motherboard problem. Perhaps something on the PCIe slot, i still got no idea. Anyhow, I got an ASUS M5A78-M Plus and everything is working fine!
  2. Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my GPU and it's driving me insane. I had a Zogis GTX 670 (2x6pin power) for about 5 years now. It always worked fine. In the last couple of months I've been getting random crashes during gaming - the screen would freeze up, sometimes with random colors, and the audio would freeze up too. I had to force reboot. As time went by, this started to happen more and more often, some games would crash right when it would start. I started to monitor temperature and voltage during gameplay, but everything was fine. Windows wouldnt help debugging in event viewer, just said there was a crash... I tried some tools to underclock and even undervolt my card, the problem persisted. So I had enough of it and bought an EVGA GTX 1050 TI recently (no PCIe power pins needed). It worked well - no crashes - for over a week (despite having basically the same performance as the 670). Then one day i'd turn on the PC and got no video signal at all, despite all the fans working and lighting up... I've done the basic reseating the board and everything, to no avail. I plugged in my old 670 and everything works fine again! I take the board back to the seller, he tests it and it works fine, but I say I don't want that crappy card anymore. So I went ahead and got an EVGA 1070 TI (1x8pin power). I plugged in and... NO SIGNAL. I have already: - updated mobo bios - flashed cmos - reseated GFX and RAM countless times - removed all drivers with DDU and done fresh install Nothing works. So I plug in the 670 back again.... IT WORKS! So now I switch my BIOS to use Internal GFX as primary (with the 1070 seated on the PCIe) - everything runs smoothly. I open up Device Manager and I can see Windows can detect the 1070, but it says: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" What is pretty crazy is that if I try to DISABLE the device on device manager and then enable it again, IT WORKS (I have one monitor on the onboard and another on the 1070). It even extends my desktop on both monitors (I didn't even know this was possible using onboard + pcie card). BUT whenever I reboot, I get the same problem again, and if I switch the BIOS to use PCIe as primary, I go back to not having any signal again - but 670 still works........ I have no more idea on what I can do, instead of maybe getting a new mobo! Could it be a problem on the pcie lane?! This is just crazy. My setup: MOBO: ASUS M5A88-M CPU: AMD FX-8120 RAM: 3x 4GB RAM 1333 PSU: Seventeam V-Force 750W All the components are about 5yrs old now. I've read many threads here and in other forums, but no solution applied to me (even tried disabling quick boot as one mentioned) Anyone got a clue? Sorry for the long post! Best.
