Update: going to return it to Newegg see what they do. If I don’t get a replacement from them I’ll be contacting my credit card company

I'd find an FTC email contact and start cc'ing them. It may be an unrealistic threat, but could be enough to get them to change their mind.
Well asrock just shipped back my gpu today should be getting it by tomorrow. I’m going to be sending my card to Newegg to get a replacement. Hopefully Newegg is easier to deal with lol

For the record I'm not accusing OP of anything except (inadvertently or not) not telling the whole story. Maybe it was a seal OP had to remove to re-paste... and knowing that would contribute to the story.
You can follow manufacturer's recommendation and have an easy warranty process. Or you can take legal advice from the Internet, remove seals, and then don't get warranty or hire a lawyer to get warranty. Makes no difference to me.
as you can see by the image ASRock voided my warranty because there was no sticker over the screw which is illegal in the US and EU idk how hard it is to understand. I also got in contact with them via phone and they said that it is “policy” to void the warranty with a removed warranty sticker
-
So today I was just informed by asrock that breaking their seal voids the warranty even though it’s illegal in the USA. Has anyone else had this issue? I want to know how many people in the US have been affected by ASRocks illegal actions. I also just want to get the information public so it is dealt with and we can fix this.

5900x would be a nice upgrade. beats 10900k at gaming and is very good at workloads that need a lot of cores. i would get 5900x.
The rumors show that the 11900k will be priced the same with 5900x. but the thing is that the 11900k is 8c/16 while 5900x is 12c/24t. so 4 more cores. And the 11900k is rumored to be singe digits better than the 10900k, which is really not good at all.
But these are all rumors. we will have to see.
what I read from rumors/leaks is the 11900k is gonna be $450 pre tax. Also after tax if i add the mobo to the cost of my upgrade 5900x/b550 will be $792 and the 11900k/z490 will be $694 all of this is after tax it all comes down to the gaming benchmarks maybe ill get a $350 11700k we shall see! also please mind what this whole thread is for “if i do go with Intel im probably just gonna get a z490 and I have been debating between two mobo. MAG Z490TOMAHAWK or MEG Z490 UNIFY the pricedifference is $125 i just dont know if they unify is worth the extra money. I just wanted a good mobo that can run my Patriot Viper Steel 4400mhz and get some better timings and clocks.”

Well you did say it was down to 3 options with the 5900x being one of them

Then I'd go for the ryzen
im gonna wait for 11th gen benchmarks. this wasnt a post about going with z590 or zen 3 it was about which z490 to buy!

the memory oc and other stuff is only gonna get better, i wouldnt touch z490 for 50% off atm.
I really doubt it will be much better but whatever you say.

I´d say don´t upgrade !
Your CPU is good you better wait end of the year for 12th gen.
I would not buy 400 series motherboard as 500 is coming and will be better.
12th Gen is going to be super expensive especially ram. Why upgrade when I already have 4400mhz and can easily use that for 11th Gen or Zen 3

just wait for z590, z490's dead
how is z490 dead legit the only difference is Gen 4 and a few more lanes?

Upgrading from a 9700k is a hard to justify upgrade unless you're playing ultra high refresh 1080p or doing professional work that needs more cores
I’m doing 240-360hz 1080p lol and I stream sometimes

In the next couple months around when 11th gen comes out i want to upgrade my 9700k to one of 3 options 11700k, 11900k or 5900x. It all comes down to pricing for choose cpu but if i do go with Intel im probably just gonna get a z490 and I have been debating between two mobo. MAG Z490 TOMAHAWK or MEG Z490 UNIFY the price difference is $125 i just dont know if they unify is worth the extra money. If anyone here has tried these or knows more than I do if you can help me decide that would be great or maybe even recommend other boards thank you!

What is his RAM?
Patriot Viper Steel 3733mhz, it has been crashing long before he got this ram like i said everything was swapped out except cpu and gpu
-
my friend has been trying to trouble shoot for months why his games would randomly just crash. We have ran superposition ran perfectly fine and also ran prime95 to stress cpu for 30mins and it was fine. He just replaced his whole rig everything besides his CPU (2700x) and Gpu (1650). And he still crashes he doesnt blue screen the games just crash he has reinstalled windows, optimized windows, debloated drivers, custom windows all this and nothing fixes it. right now were are thinking it could be the cpu but we are unclear. we get no message or anything it just closes! if you can help in anyway that would be great

I want to call you spoiled, but I have r7 3800x/ 2060 super
And when I built a r5 5600x / 3070 for someone else, I almost cried what you need or not, mostly depends on the money you have and secondly on the needs that you need to cover, sadly.
I have seen many 3000$ iMacs doing office work (if not the most of them)
Well I pay for everything myself and since they don’t teach how to manage money I gotta learn on my own lol

Well... Sure if you think spending money to do that is great
Personally my philosophy is upgrade when you need it, not when you want it
To find out what to upgrade, find the limiting factor for the games you play and upgrade those, when you feel like you're not satisfied with the result
Upgrade to flex is kind of... ehh
There's always someone with a better computer
yeah im an idiot 17 year old who thinks he needs crap when he doesnt ill probably just get new headphones and other peripherals

Just now, Moonzy said:
Why are you looking to upgrade, though
Does your PC not satisfy your needs?
Or it's a "I want to" thing
i just like to flex fps and shit lol

doesnt seem like a huge enough jump to justify the cost in my opinion
I agree im probably going wait for zen 4 or 12th gen and rtx 4000 or 3080ti something like that

In the future im looking at selling my 2080 gaming x trio and getting a 3080 Strix OC is it worth it for 240hz in games like MW, Destiny 2, Fortnite, R6 and Doom? like i dont think selling my 2080 for 400-500 and getting a 3080 for 850 is worth it. Im also looking to upgrade my 9700k and crap z390 asrock board. and either going with a 5900x, b550 or 11700k, z590 (once out) but in 2020 these parts are still insane and i dont think i really need to upgrade what are your guys thoughts? im just looking for diverse opinions! Thanks

3080 and 3090 are both ga102. A 3090 basically IS a 3080, but with less bits cut off at the factory.
Yeah I read about that we shall see what I can afford once there in stock thanks for the info

That would sort of be a pcb difference. No limit means some people are going to burn them out though. I was thinking more of better components. Like that “which chips are on the back” thing. That applies to the whole pcb, not just That one little square. The general rule is the cheapass cards have better bang/buck, because whatever company designed them already optimized them. This would be Nvidia or AMD in this case. It gets squishy as one approaches the top end though, because there isn’t a higher class gpu chip to get and all that can be done is hotrod the one that is there.
Yeah bang/buck is really important in most cases as a $100 more card will only offer a slight difference but for me someone who overclocks and wants to get the most without buying a 3090 I think strix is probably the better option we will see how the prices hold up in January when I actually buy it

Final update: just got an email back from Newegg approving my replacement I’m super happy. Still a good thread to make people aware of what ASRock is doing. Hopefully some day they change this
