  1. Hi.

I have been having trouble with my computer.

My computer Halts/Crashes when doing something that's heavy load, for example: Rendering a video in premiere pro,Playing Battlefield 4 and 3,etc. It doesn't even say a error, it just shuts off.

Please tell me what could be wrong. I was thinking it was my power supply because it's a bad make and company but I don't want to buy something if it doesn't fix it.

    Computer specs:

    MB: ASrock n68c GS-FX

    CPU: AMD FX-6300

    RAM: Don't know the company but: 8GB (2 x 4GB)

    GPU: Radeon HD 7770

HDD: 1 x Western Digital 500GB: Don't know what series.

    PSU: Dynex DX-PS500W

    Thanks.

When it happens does it happen so:

    black screen,

everything stil running, but windows reboots (on mine leds on fans stayed up, everything running, then got the ok beep from the speaker as it rebooted)

    replaced the psu. fixed

  2. Yeah compared to other OS like Linus it actually gets filled with crap residual files from programs quickly.

Ccleaner and malwarebytes help, but a clean install always gets rid of all the crap at once.

Every time i uninstall a program, i get errors due to paths and files that stayed behind. Missing MUI references, and shortcuts remaining on the desktop. WIndows is so retarded. Have to use CCleaner to fix em

  3. replacing the compound will help a tonne.

Just make sure you have ALL the screw you need, as well as not only unplugging the battery, but keeping fingers and screwdrivers away from it.

The reason they are so thin is because the battery is paper thin on most of them, so a simple scratch will burst the battery and you will have to evacuate.

    Just be careful please lol

That puts me off going inside my 4yr old mac

  4. I seemed to kind of fix it. I went into the BIOS settings and found a "Cool & Quite" feature enabled. I disabled that and now I'm getting around 60-70 fps on ultra, I think that's about right not sure though. I also found a feature called "CPU Unlock" which was disabled. Should I enable that?

    Holy shit!

I've had the same problems with my 280x, though a little more drastic. I used to play near ultra at 60fps. now i have to play medium!! to get 60fps in bf4

i have an fx-6300, similar to your fx-8350.

I'll try disabling AMD cool and quiet, will i need to do anything after i disable it?

    [i will not overclock]

Written below is taken from my messages to my local store where i bought this stuff. Since then i have got a replacement PSU. when i first ran that PSU the fan in it was clicking (normally i have fan facing up, they put the fan facing down).

Something is still wrong. I can now run crysis 3 (it black screened before) but it was on the settings i used to play it at a month ago. and it was stuttering and lagging like crap. I had to turn it down quite a bit...

Also, temperatures have improved with PSU fan facing down, doesn't go over on GPU 70, averages 65 instead of original 69. CPU doesn't go over 51

    thanks in advance!

    • This PC is 3 months old (built on 26/04/14). For the first month and a half, its been “hanging” (pretty much freezing for 15 seconds, i press Ctrl-alt-delete to get to task manager and that generally speeds up the process). Then this stopped for a while, but i got one yesterday. I do have a tendency to open a truckload of tabs, but 8 gigs of ram should be enough (i’ve never seen RAM usage drop below 30%, is that normal?). Something that could be contributing to the hangs is that the hard drives run in IDE mode. By the time i’d found that it was in IDE mode, it was too late. I tried changing it to AHCI in the BIOS, but that caused a BSOD so i changed it back to normal and its been fine.

    • Recently i’ve been getting a load of black screens while playing games (BF4 and World of Tank are the only ones where i remember it black screening).

    • Also. For the first 2 months after i got the PC built by a friend (the guy had a room full of RC cars, PCs and PS3s that he was tearing apart and fixing) I could play BF4 on near Ultra at 60fps. The situation has deteriorated to playing BF4 on medium to get 60fps. For the fairly beastly and bloody expensive setup that i have, thats really disgusting.

    Heres some things i’ve done
    • I have not overclocked
    • I have the latest WHQL GPU drivers
    • Temperatures: the GPU doesn’t go over 70°C, nor the CPU over 50°C. I can’t monitor the PSU temperature, and i don’t look at the mono temps, but i doubt that they are overheating.
    • I’ve read on Toms hardware that PSUs will reset the CPU (aka restart the PC) to prevent the PC from catching on fire. The manual for my PSU confirmed this, saying that my “budget class” PSU will do this.
    • I’ve done a chkdisk, and checked the RAM
    • I’ve uninstalled all hardware monitors, MSI Kombustor and the like bar one (i found Open Hardware Monitor the other day, its amazing)
    • Yesterday i went through my PC and cleaned up unused files ( I use CCleaner as well)
    • Mobo is version F5
    • I’ve gone through device manager, looking for anything thats out of date
    • i’ve downloaded the AMD chipset drivers from Gigabyte’s website. It used AMDs Catalyst Software, and told me that the chipset driver was installed, but it installed/repaired a few other things that were included in the driver download.
    • I use Windows Defender

Personally i think its the CPU or PSU that is very unstable, or the GPU or CPU is just performing

    Specs:
    • Win 8.1
    • Gigabyte GA 970a-d3p (AM3+) (Rev 1)
    • FX-6300
    • R9 280X Double Dissipation
    • Avexir 2x4 GB 1600mhz
    • Thermaltake Smartpower 750w
    • CM Storm Enforcer
    • Samsung 840 evo
    • Seagate 1tb 7200rpm

    • LG DVD read/writer
  5. They aren't better than 2x titan blacks, they are worse. They do not have more memory. 2x 6 = 12 (2x titan blacks), Titan z = 12gb / 2 = 6gb per card. Math is hard. Do programs even support quad-sli? You would have been better going for a proffessional card (tesla/quadro) + sli 780 ti's if you needed all round overkill performance. Hell quad titan blacks would have even been a better value and I've never said that before in my life. lol

titan blacks are 6 gb each

titan z are 12 gb each.

Having more than one gpu doesnt mean you have double the frame buffer.

Finally a worthy replacement for my One M7 from a year ago. This phone features a stunning ID, lightning fast performance, and aside from a couple of small complaints... is damn near as good as it gets. I hope you guys enjoy this video because I feel like now, one year into doing phone reviews, this is about as good as we can make them... It's a lot of work, but if you guys enjoy it, then it's all worthwhile....

Now onto the good stuff. HTC is giving us up to TWO phones to give away. All we need to do is generate 10,000 unique impressions on this tracked product page link, and I will give away two phones to random posters in this thread no matter who you are or where you're from in the world.

  7. Hellz yeah, good job for surviving! I've subscribed to techquickie as well (of course) and contacted a very friendly youtuber with a hell of a lot of subscribers!

I've been trying to game on a 2010 macbook and a Lenovo laptop, and i've been planning the building of my PC for 3 & 1/2 months. The crate computer is great but in my honest opinion i'd be salvaging the parts to build my own conventional PC with the help of Linus & Slick, and the great community that they have created!

oh and star citizen... on a mac? not even 24/7 crossover fiddling will get that to work!
