  1. "Pricing and Discussion" Yeh, i'll buy one... Lawl guys click the pricing links
  2. I don't recommend getting an I7-4790k unless a) your overclocking, b) your doing a lot more than just gaming. The money you save on the cpu could be strectched to get a second 970 for the build! If your happy with your decision, then i would recommend CPU/mobo first, GPU later
  3. Thats excellent. If your going for gaming, then the best CPU would be the I5-4690. If you're going to overclock, then the i5-4690k. That means you can put more into the GPU and mobo, as you really don't need a more powerful cpu for gaming. I will add though, Planetside 2 does seem to be quite a CPU driven game. In the dense battles, my FX-6300 can drop the frames considerably. r9 280x keeps on chugging. Not sure about Skyrim BF4, I5 is fine CS. Lol Many of the new releases are pouting 4-6gb of VRAM for the recommended specs. Shadow of mordor needs 6gb for the ultra textures (there's a tiny difference betwee ultra and high though). The 980 has 4gb vram (at the moment) We might see more variants of the 980 with more vram, and maybe even the 980ti/990 by Black Friday
  4. If you're using your system as a PC more often than as a gaming machine, then the CPU/mobo upgrade would be best. But. With the 7870 and i3 you've mentioned, it's likely that your PSU, case, won't accommodate your upgrades.
  5. Hi again, thanks for having a look. I agree that it's unlikely that a small timing difference to manufacturer is causing the delays, a clean install of Windows 10 when it comes around should do the trick. thanks again.
  6. Yes i'm talking about the Windows "dummy proof" number. Now i think it's safe to assume that the RAM is at the correct speed, and i can live with Task Manager displaying the number in a different method. Thanks for looking through the BIOS pics, i appreciate it!
  7. Ok if the pictures ever load in my email... This is what happens when you have an Ipad as your only method of taking pictures... Ok, so it appears normal in the BIOS, although the timings are a little dubious. I've tried setting them to what they should be (9-9-9-24) but i don't know if they're all right. Maybe you guys might spot something that i've set wrong.
  8. Specs are in the siggy The RAM is Avexir 2x4gb 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 (AFAIK)
  9. Hmm that's what i was thinking, windows shows 2133mhz, which i assume would is the speed of the whole kit.
  10. Hi, did you read my post? i said i was aware of that, but wanted to make sure it wasn't the cause of my system being unstable.
  11. Hi there, So i checked Task Manager -> peformance and it says that thee speed of the RAM is 800mhz Now i'm aware that basically, the 2x4gb dual channel kit splits the frequency, so that each runs at 800mhz. But i can't help but wonder... My system is more unstable and slow than it should be for a fairly new, and powerful PC. Maybe the speed is showing the collective speed? See the image below, hopefully you guys can clear this up for me... remove the doubt from my mind! thanks in advance!
  12. I seem to have fixed the issue by moving the headphone cable away from other wires. Also have the headset plugged into the rear audio ports
  13. Hi, I've tried ports on back and front. It seems that, having moved the wires away from other the other wires connecting to my PC has fixed it, i'll do some more testing and get back to you
  14. maybe this [http://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836190018&cm_re=microphone-_-36-190-018-_-Product] will work. It doesn't actually show the connector though, and i couldn't find it on google
  15. I don't think the Zalman will work, I've got a small desktop mic like that, the plastic covering the wire and 3.5mm jack stops it from fitting. It has to be a similar curved shape to the Hyperx mic connector
  16. This headset would be great, but the Mic is causing a loud horrible buzzing sound for other people in voice chat. Posted my problem here [http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/228841-microphone-causing-constant-buzzing-for-others-in-voice-chat/]
  17. I bought it from a local store, i've done business with them a few times, but i still don't know if the problem is to do with EMI, this mic does seem to pick up on interference (using wirless phone, turning on/off light) seem to affect it. Warranty for the headset doesn't cover that.
  18. Turns out i have the same problem! i bought the headset and have annoyed a lot of people on voice chat due to the static. This is what mine is set at. Have a look at: [http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/228841-microphone-causing-constant-buzzing-for-others-in-voice-chat/] I've got a lot more info about the problem, which should help OP
  19. It doesn't stop, but it gets quieter. The buzzing has annoyed my friend a lot. My house is very old, and its Australian, so i wouldn't be surprised. I've always had problems with random noises through headphones
  20. Hi there. Bios is f5, most recent version. I've been playing the sound back to myself, and i've use both teamspeak and skype to communicate with others and the random buzzing still occurs.
  21. Hi, I noticed when using the mic in voice chat yesterday that, when i spoke louder the volume number increased, and at a certain threshold the mic boost would jump up automatically/ Turning down mic boost means i have to turn up mic volume, which achieves the same static effect. Which way should i set it? 0 mic boost high volume. or 10% volume boost low volume?
  22. Wow update! So i set to listen to the mic, turned up volume 3 times louder than i normally set it at, and found that the static doesn't occur if i move my hand next to the mic. It doesn't occur if i move my head to the right a bit, thus the mic is pointing at: second old monitor, PC, microwave.
  23. Hi Swndlr, thanks for responding so quickly So you don't think its on the software end? With my previous headphones i would hear a strange static noise on my end, and i figured that was to do with EMI. This noise is separate, but i guess it could be related I bought it from a local store, so i'll try and RMA it. Seems like everything i buy for my PC setup goes back to that store....
  24. Hi there, i have a problem with my new Kingston Hyperx Cloud Headset, and i know i can turn to the LTT community So my problem is as follows: The mic causes a constant buzzing for other users when i'm in voice chat I have put all images into spoilers, and they are captioned. When i listen to the device (mic), i can hear the endless buzzing, The buzzing does not occur with this Creative mic that i normally use
