If you do not have HDMI then is there No way for telling for sure

If you have HDMI and still No sound. Then iT could be your Windows settings ( mute button ? Disabled device in sound menu ? Wrong device selected ? Wrong drivers.. HDMI use video card drivers so you got No video installed ? ... )

if everything else works then putting in a soundcard solves your sound problem
and then is your onboard sound broken

but be sure to check in hardware manager first If your sound card is found. If not then iT is broken

    Do you have hdmi ?
then your tv should provide sound

if not. Check your drivers first ( probably that ..97 company )

    else a soundcard will work
i always used a soundcard until iT died. Now I use onboard

    I have a T40 and a T41

Both work, i have chargers for both and a dock as well. The bigger charger also works as a car charger.
The T41 feels like new too, as opposed to the well-used T40.

    The specs:
I didn't realize these were that old, probably because i had been using them... They're fine for old software & old games.
