The only time publishers should be able to go after hack authors is when they're distributing the publisher's code, which should generally be easy for hackers to avoid. Just ship a patcher, not modified game assets.

This is like someone going after the devs of Low Orbit Ion Cannon after a bunch of 'chan' idiots use it to DDoS their website.

I think I am entitled to not use it without it making me a social pariah or giving me a reputation as the difficult guy at work. When those options aren't on the table and all you have to offer is platitudes about how the market is going to magically solve the issue at some unspecified point in the future, then I'm entitled to expect that the service I've been strong-armed in to using is run reasonably.

I can make my job and social life harder, to no effect, because the fad-driven moron market decided upon facebook before I even knew what it was, and facebook is a proprietary platform which doesn't use open protocols or play nice with alternative services.

Aetheria reacted to Mira Yurizaki in Real-time raytracing in Unreal Engine and Vulkan on a PowerVR GPU
The whole catch is that the PowerVR GR6500 has a dedicated ray tracing unit (from https://www.anandtech.com/show/7870/imagination-announces-powervr-wizard-gpu-family-rogue-learns-ray-tracing)

So any comparisons to anything other than a GeForce RTX is comparing software rendering to hardware rendering. In fact, the video that OP posted saying that the GR6500 is five times more powerful than the GTX 980 Ti, the presenter at about 2:55 says "That's the power of having dedicated fixed function hardware instead of using GPU compute."

On that note, I find it hard to believe that a GPU with likely orders of magnitude less transistors can do ray tracing 100 times faster than an RTX 2080 Ti. And no where in the WFFCTech article compares NVIDIA's hardware to PowerVR's. If you're going "NVIDIA needs to have 100x more power for ray tracing that this mobile GPU can do" without any other context, you may as well tell me NVIDIA needs 100 times more power to generate a 3D image period when Intel's IGPUs have no problem doing it.

tl;dr, ambiguous contexts leading to misleading conclusions.

I dont live in the US so i cant say whats good wage or not, BUT when they say
" the average hourly wage for a full-time associate in our fulfillment centers, including cash, stock, and incentive bonuses, is over $15/hour before overtime "
That means that $15/hr is comprised of a set wage + bonuses . Its the set wage you need to look at, the set wage is what is a set reliable income for a person working. Bonuses are just that, a bonus, you cant rely on bonuses..its a bonus. So i would bet that $15/hr is no where near the 'actual' hourly set wage.

In the UK for example Amazon staff , the bottom tier staff, the guys and galls working in the warehouses; they get minimum wage and have to work their asses of to meet targets. Alot of the time having to break safety rules just to hit those targets. .For example a old colleague of mine told me when he worked there people had to 'run' around with baskets full of goods becouse their electronic device had a timer that tells you how long you have to grab an item and move on.

The UK national living wage (for over 25's) is only £7.83/hr. Let me tell you, its not possible for a person, that is single, to live of that income without other income support. So i can beleve this story, Amazon is a sh*t place to work. I've turned down jobs in amazon  whilst being unemployed in the past becouse of how bad that company is to its employees, and have seen, heared of, and known other people do the same thing, choosing to be unemployed over working at Amazon.

I'm probably just browsing youtube while I'm using the VPN, but that's my business, nonetheless. Even if the VPN is logging everything I do, the only info they have on me is my actual IP address half a world away.

yes I'm very aware of this, that's why I made it clear I was reviewing from the perspective of a watcher, not a player, so lag doesn't matter because I'm not making inputs.  However, if the opinion of the person I was watching is worth anything, that still isn't reason enough to invalidate the tech.  While he said the extra lag was noticeable, it was worth it to get 60 fps over 30.  I guess that's testament to how annoying 30 is
Interesting.  Well, maybe our TV is special then, or maybe the Wii U does it properly.  Either way it worked well *shrug*
I would love to feel the same way but I just can't.  My advice would be to never assume people have the basic sense to do anything, no matter how obvious it may seem, especially when it comes to tech.

Aetheria got a reaction from LAwLz in AMD wins Patent Infringement lawsuit against Vizio
Perhaps between the extremes of 'all patents should be abolished' to 'nuh uhh, patents are fundamental to progress', we can at least agree that the status quo isn't making the graphics market very competitive? These aren't goldrush times, efficiency is king in the tech industry, and it doesn't take many legally-mandated patent workarounds to make your products uncompetitive. Not even Intel have been able to break in to anything but the very low-end of the graphics market, and they've had every advantage and a long time to do so.

There's also an opportunity cost associated with having all your best and brightest working on solutions for purely legal problems. That's not progress. The fifty people who've been reinventing the wheel could have been inventing something genuinely new, better, and of more use than just allowing one company to avoid a licensing fee.
