MatteoX10 reacted to FastRDust in Video games: The future bottleneck?
everything will be step by step, HDR will be mainstream, Higher resolution and framerate.
and when better hardware comes around the corner the game engines need to be rewritten to make use of it all.

Higher Texture fidelity and maybe even Physics in everything from ground to smoke, rain and snow.
Maybe even Wind will be calculated.

The first bottleneck will probably be budget limitations of the consumer.

Eventually the games will so  much more complex that a bigger budget is needed to create them, which means the cost wil go up for consumers and will result in games of around 120 ~150 range...

    Excluding DLC of course.

Inet is a very good website, i ordered my first dekstop there like 6 years ago. From what I can see they got 1 year warranty and support. But I don't know if each part has it's own warranty from the manufacturer. I've heard that PSUs usually has 3+ years in warranty.

And regarding the price. I picked out components based on brands that i already know about. I don't HAVE to go for a samsung ssd, but I have had it before so that's my reasoning behind some of the parts. I could go with cheaper parts, as long as they perform the same as the other ones.

Thanks, i'll take a look at what you had in mind!

Heh. Considering dealing with computer parts forms a huge aspect about my job, I'd better know a lot about them.

Another concern about your 2700X build list is your case. The Meshify C like that in your Intel build list has better airflow than the Define S. Any reason why you switched?

And I thought I knew alot about computer parts.. Mobos seems so out of reach for the consumers in terms of actually knowing what they do. But thanks alot for the input, really appreciated!

Yeah I think i'll go for the AMD one. I don't have to spend extra money on a cooler aswell since it has a decent one in the box. Thanks!

It is okay although the Cryorig H7 is slightly better. But the 2700X comes with a fairly good cooler. I'd suggest using it initially. Upgrade if and when you decide it's not good enough for your needs.

Upgrading cpu is very rarely a cost effective move. Get the best you can afford now and worry about upgrading when it's time.

I'd suggest a 2700X. Depending on the video editing software being used, an i7-8700K might be a better option.

A 1000W psu is close to three times more capacity than needed. Even allowing for another gpu an 850W RMx or Focus Plus Gold should be quite sufficient

The HX1000 is 180mm long. Longer than the 175mm Fractal Design recommended maximum length for the Meshify C.

    BTW, why a second gpu?

8g of thermal compound is enough for at least a dozen applications. It's not really needed because the NH-U14S comes with a tube of Noctua compound.

The NH-U14S is not really appropriate for a Threadripper cpu. Should you stick to that cpu, get the NH-U14S TR4-SP3. It is designed for use with the much larger surface of Threadripper.

If you stick with Threadripper, the memory kit should be 4x4GB (quad channel). With a 2700X use a 2x8GB kit (dual channel).

Depends on how much you want to spend, but you want get away with a b450 board if you want to save a buck(you don't need dual pcie slots from the cpu or lots of sata it seems)

something like this would work fine https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B450-AORUS-Thermal-Motherboard/dp/B07FWY246F/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1533844453&sr=8-3&keywords=amd+b450&dpID=51aMzkZwakL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Then id get a 2700x for now. It should do all of what you have listed, then get the newer platform in a few years when things like ddr5 is out.

why 1900x? It doesn't really make sense here, get a 2700x or a 1920x or higher. You aren't useing the extra lanes or ram.

1000w psu is a bit overkill, but works fine.

Yep you can oc with that cooler.

You don't need the extra 4 pin, the 1900x really isn't that power hungry, but don't get it.

    1. Seems pretty balanced in CPU/GPU.  Not sure why you're going last gen CPU, price is better?
    2.  No.  1060 6GB won't do 1440p all that well with settings cranked.

What's your budget?  Where are you located?

You're not using an SSD, just the Optane?  PSU is a bit more than you need.   RAM is slower than I'd get too.

It'll game fine, but little things could be improved.
