  1. Yes. I've removed the graphics card from the motherboard and plugged the dvi cord into the motherboard and installed them. Put the graphics card back in and same thing. I also updated the system to windows 10 to see if that would do anything but it didn't. A few forums suggest that you should do a clean install of windows so I'll try that once the ssd that I ordered arrives.
  2. I recently gave a friend my old PC and we've been working on it the past few days trying to fix this problem. 2 days ago the screen froze when I was using it and when it was responsive again a notification popped up saying "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered." After that I turned the PC off and the next day when my friend was using it the screen randomly went black with no cursor. We restarted the system and the screen just turned black when it booted up. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Graphics card: gtx 1070
  3. It worked! Thank you man. I appreciate the quick response.
  4. Hey guys, my PC updated yesterday automatically as it usually does, as soon as I hopped on and played some games I noticed I was getting severe stutters and frame drops. I just now checked the task manager to see if anything was off and there definitely is. My ram usage is bouncing back and forth from 70-90 percent in games with almost all of the ram being used. My computer is reading that I have 8gb installed in one channel when in fact I have two 8gb ram sticks. My PC has been running at 16gb with no issues like this for awhile. I turned off auto updates so something like this doesn't happen again. What can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance. Motherboard: Asus Prime Z370-P RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 2x8GB DDR4
  5. I'm looking to transfer all of my data from a backup from one PC to another. The PC I'm transferring the data onto has a 225gb SSD and a 2TB HDD. I have a 1TB backup drive but I'm not really sure how to go about transferring all the data over to the other PC safely. The PC that has all of the data has 2 465gb hdd drives and I'm just not really sure how to go about doing this. Thanks in advance.
  6. I'm going to try overclocking my cpu and enable xmp and see if that helps a bit, and if I feel an upgrade is needed I will do so. Thank you for all the help so far.
  7. I own a ASRock Z270 EXTREME4 LGA1151 and I'm wanting to upgrade from a 7700K to a 8700K CPU. Would I need to buy a new motherboard like an ASUS PRIME Z370-P? Or can I just use the same motherboard?
  8. I will try this out and let you know how it works, thank you.
  9. How do I check what version of BIOS I'm using for my motherboard? CPU-Z is saying 1075MHz-1076MHz for my PC and my friends is saying 1499MHz-1500MHz. I am using a corsair H60 and he is using a H20: Stage 2: Digital Storm Vortex 240mm. His CPU is factory overclocked by digital storm and mine is not overclocked.
  10. Thank you for correcting me on the amount of cores the 7700k has. I don't know a lot about computers and I'm learning as I go. I am open to buying an SSD and upgrading my motherboard along with the same cpu, or a better cpu than my friend if that's what it takes to achieve the best performance I can. And I am also open to getting a new cooler for overclocking if needed.
  11. I have thought about it, and I am willing to try it. I think I would need a better water cooler for that because I am using a corsair h60 atm.
  12. Hello everyone, For quite a bit of time I've realized that my PC isn't performing as well as I would like it to. I compared my PC's performance to my friends PC while playing Overwatch. His PC ran at a constant 300fps in various in game situations, and mine ran at 150-240 fps and in intense fights the fps dropped to 90-70 fps. I've upgraded my PC many times and I am just not sure what to do at this point. What do you guys think is happening, and what can I do to match my friends PC performance? Thanks in advance. My PC specs: CPU: Core i7 7700k (8 core) 4.2ghz GPU: GTX 1080ti Motherboard: ASRock Z270 EXTREME4 Motherboard Memory: 16GB DDR4 PSU: Corsair AX860 Storage: 2x 2TB HHD's Friends PC specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K (6-Core) 3.7ghz GPU: GTX 1080 Motherboard: Asus Prime Z370-P Memory: 16GB DDR4 PSU: Corsair RM750x Storage: 1x 240gb SSD 1x 2TB SSD
