  1. Yes sorru I get what you mean now! I had a x8 slot in mind and what could deliver enough power?
  2. Its' this:https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/t630/
  3. That is a good shout I didn't think of but 0 it's a little HP and Dell Micrso ones so no PCIE slots
  4. I do have two spare power supplies and a Seasonic jumper! It's odd doing it cheap but also trying to avoid having a PSU in the limited space! But I will take a look!
  5. Hi all, I think this will fall under a question about storage! I have 2 or 3 mini PCs that I can't add drives internally to two have USB external drives all good and well but one I have a M.2 spot and a super easy way to run wires out of my questions what is the best way to power them? I mean as an example of the "Set up" below Easy enough to connect Sata to M.2 yes sweet but how would I power them? The regular is either MOLED to sata and see and some docks have a molex port on them! As seen in the other image! But what is the best way to get power to them from a Mini PC that already uses a power brick? And I know I know a NAS or DAS with power is 100X better and I will almost 99% just order one, it's only for PLEX storage but the answer has been killing me for ages! And oddly enough this "Rough" way of doing it would help add one drive to a system. Linus also showed the M.2 to sata in a video the other night and I've been thinking of an answer since!
  6. Update: Posted to Reddit too and the fans are kina hot spawable, 1 screw and contacts pushed on them to make sure good contact like someone who had the same issue and all is good now.
  7. I meant to add this too from the Fan test.
  8. Hi all, I have a Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT NITRO+ 16GB few weeks now has been great but the day I got it I installed the Trixx software did a fan test and got a red fan in the middle, checked no bigger cable resting on it, fast forward about 4 weeks or so, ran another test and all 3 are red and hardly spin up during the test past 600rpm. If I run a stress test in the AMD software they do spin up and I don't believe I'm having any issues in the game, did a load of benchmarking last night and nothing odd. If I use MSI Afterburner and set to 100% it just goes back down to 0, I guess due to no load. Ran Furmark (Side pannel off) Max 62C Fans at 25%? Just an issue with Strixx software? GPU had power two separate 8 pins no daisy chain. Just an issue with Strixx software?
  9. Seen in the image, it's not the CS2 but the white one, sometimes hows when I tab in t CS only last few days, not installed anything new as far as I know.
  10. Budget (including currency): Price to Performace. Country: UK Scan.com will be the retailer Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming 99% of time. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have got my GPU RX 7800 XT and need a CPU, I did do a post and got some great help but spent some more time narrowing it down to the below. Sorry it's a lot of data trying to find the best. I will say for Intel I have only done DDR4 and not DDR5 maybe people will say I need to add it in? It's set at the end by the final price. The ones that I think stand out for me and maybe will be a bad idea for gaming would be R7 5700X I may have missed some CPUs but that will be down to my preferred retailer not stocking them (I have some vouchers to use with that) FYI 8600K is my current CPU with DDR4 3200MHz RAM 4 x 8GB sticks.
  11. Unforantly that site is ASS, They hate AMD so really can't be used to compare anything in my option.
  12. Could you elaborate more? Why over AMD?
  13. Ooo I missed saying 1440P!
  14. Budget (including currency): Low as possible due to not planning on a CPU upgrade yet, but I do value well value over price. Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming Other details: This will replace an I5 8600k and be paired with a RX 7800 XT OC. I just made the GPU purchase and I knew I'd bottleneck but worse than I expected (CS2 stutters) Thinking of giving AMD a go since I have for GPU. I've attached the 6 I'm thinking mostly at Scan.co.uk due to PayPal Credit being an option. I'd be happy to drop to the Ryzen 5 options too. but wanted to know what people thought would be a good "Value" match. I'm going AM4 due to having 32GB of DDR4 Ram I want to keep using at 3200Mhz. I will need a board and Cooler too! But I'm a little more clued up on Mobo and cooling just not CPU so much.
  15. Wow yeah thank you, honestly done a little Excel looking at the 8/9th gen and all around the 13K PassMark score a little search for 13th gen and just shy of 40k worth saving a few months and upgrading when I hit a bottleneck a lot, for now, I only had issues in BF2042 but with a a 1660 super capped at 60FPS never ran in to issues.
  16. Budget (including currency): £ 120? Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming with a RX low-end card (RX 6700xt or a RX 6650 XT) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Will be for gaming with G7 Oddsey 1440p 144Hz 32GB Ram @ 3200Mz Gigabyte Z370P D3 (rev. 1.0) F15 Bios. Hi, I'm just thinking of doing a little upgrade to my I5 8600k to tick me over another year, I've attached a link to the list of supported CPUs and wondered if there are any bangers I should aim for! I will go used of course due to age. I can get an I7-9700F for £95 so a bit of generation a tier jump! The current CPU is 95w so it would be nice to keep it at that since my 120mm AIO runs it comfortably. I know going a B550 and as Ryzen might be a better shout but just trying to keep cost low for a while. Then this PC will probably become my PLEX server down the line! Thank you all. Link to CPU list: https://www.gigabyte.com/uk/Motherboard/Z370P-D3-rev-10/support#support-cpu
  17. Still more than my 125W 1660 Super! Obviously, underload mind that. EDIT some quick google math £1.28 a week based on 4 hours a day at full load.
  18. Hmm yeah, I guess I don't take into account my GPU sat at 100% and CPU 60% because of the limit. I mean I can always upgrade to an AMD CPU next month if it's that bad a bundle such as super quick google Ryzen 5 5600X + B550 is about £279. I know won't help loads but I can OC my CPU a little. I'm not looking for balls to the fall performance just good.
  19. Ooo good to know because I have my PC on from 9am till 11pm. I work from home and do far to much gaming at work so that would be pretty handy. I get it will use more since more power but a better PSU would help offset it.
  20. Yeah I have had a look and can get a used RX6800 XT for like £500 on ebay it's mad at the moment! The extra gets a better new, GPU with a warranty.
  21. I know not a 1440P setup but damn works! 60Fps in BF2042 240 in CSGO and 120 in CS2. I play MW1 reboot online 60FPS. It really does handle itself more than people think just need to be smart on settings. It does make me laugh that people say "Not for 1440p" but people play console at 30Fps and call it good so all personal preference! Yeah I'm terrible with budget! (Luckily I can be a little)
  22. Budget (including currency): £350? Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly games currently CS2, BF2042, Starfield. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current Set up is 1660 Super with a 1440P G7 Monitor CPU is an I5-8600k. Not planning a CPU upload soon will just OC it for now, I've never really ran into CPU issues. 32GB RAM. Case is a MASTERBOX LITE 5 with no front pannel (Zero relevance but helped cool my system.) Clearance - GFX 400mm/16.14", 400mm/16.14" (w/o 3.5" HDD cage) I should be good for length. (Only Time I've said that in my life) GPU Bit: I'm stuck on an upgrade since the new 7000 Series has dropped. I was pretty set on the RX 6700 XT for £319 Great value and around the price I wanted (New not used) but with the RX 7*00 launch anything for the RX7800 XT says to get the RX 6800 XT well for the UK and what I've seen is that the RX 7800 XT is cheaper by about £50. So doesn't make sense to jump last-gen. So it's RX7800 XT over RX 6800 XT but also RX 7800 XT over RX 7700 XT. So guess my 3 options now are: RX6700 XT - £319 Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT PULSE RX 7700 XT - £429 PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT FIGHTER RX 7800 XT - £479 Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT PULSE Reference: RX 6800 XT - £ 539 PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Sapphire is best for AMD? Vs Powercool and XFX? PSU Bit: PSU will be Corsair RM750e (2023) Fully Modular Low-Noise ATX Power Supply (£100 - £115) This looks good too: Seasonic G12-GM-650 650W (£79) I'd probably pick this due to £20 savings plus Seasonic = good? The Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT PULSE says 700W recommended I'd be looking at a 650W with an undervolt so would that be good? I only have a 500W PSU so maybe need a new one for RX 7000 which bumps cost. So In my head, it's got an RX 6700 XT for £319 (Maybe an extra £80 for PSU so £400) or go RX7800 XT £479 ( + PSU at £80 so £559) since going RX 7700 XT doesn't make much sense for £50 less. Any PSU works right no connectors needed? Back to GPU Bit Help me?! Will the extra £210 to go RX 7800 XT really be a good shoot vs a RX 6700 XT. Half me says just do it long term may get longer and support will be better and drivers and whatnot Plus AMD newer features like that hypr rx. But I also managed to do 1440p for 2 years on a 1660 Super when I was told I was stupid. I'm not trying to run blazing fast FPS and ultra settings having a 1050 TI and then 1660 super I've always been a Low - med type guy. I think I needed to rant this out and you guys always have some awesome help. So rant back? The more I add lines the more I think new things! RX 7800 XT + PSU is £559 RX6700 XT + PSU is £398 £160 difference - £50 for GPU so £110 Seems the 7800 XT is a fat good deal I can sell my 1660 for maybe £50 to a friend still rocking a 1050 Ti Or use it in my PLEX server when I finally build it. But that's another story. I thank anyone who suffers to read my ranting but also thank you for suffering! The RX7800 XT would be end of September so I have a little time to find deals/stock bits. (And get paid if I sell anything this month!) ~Gurky
  23. Legend I will order an SSD now then and now "Bulky spare" will become my good one!
  24. Yeah, I was a young man when I got a Seagate! Just messing yeah I usually use Samsung or WD. I've had a feel around Pc and feels like my bay where I have the HDD, pump and AIO seems absolutely fine and GPU. Here is the SMART: Seems good to me, nothing major standing out.
