You can use Xbox 360 controllers with USB ports using an adapter of some kind (I think, that or no adapter) and a macro program for that. Can't remember the name off of the top of my head but my friend was using it for TES:Online and it was so awesome.

Also heard there'll end up being support for the very overdue and best controller in existence thus far to many: Xbox One controller. PS4 support already exists in some form but I have no idea how.

So yes, there are ways to use very modern console controllers on your pc for gaming or just general control. The problem is that if you're used to a gaming mouse, I highly doubt the DPI/CPI/sensitivity can be changed much for the controllers unless you were using under a 1600x900 display resolution. This mostly applies to the 360 controller but yeah. I've casually used 4400-5000+ DPI settings on panels sometimes 1920x1080 or smaller so I may be an exception .

With windows 8.1 it'll definitely work.  Ya you just need to download and install the correct drivers from I_Got_Lost's link and plug into your controller to the usb port on your computer.  Also there are wireless adapters you can buy for xbox controllers so you can use them all wireless and such.

Thanks for all the feedback. I appreciate it.

One thing I really want people who long for the good 'ol days to consider is this: Have I really changed, or have you changed?

The timing of this post is particularly interesting since it comes RIGHT AFTER I uploaded not one, but two motherboard videos in just a few days... What is more "classic LTT" than a motherboard overview video? Yes, it's better shot, and I have a chance to gather my thoughts BEFORE the video rather than during it (scripting), but is it POSSIBLE that you just don't need to hear about every motherboard anymore since there just isn't really that much to say about them?

The reasons you see me branching out are not due to a focus on money, but because I believe in the longer term it will be better for the audience. #1 is that I try not to say or do the same thing twice if I can avoid it. If that means that I don't unbox all three capacities of the same power supply the way that I used to, then so be it. #2 is that I let my own personal interests and projects guide the direction of the content because if I'm not actually passionate about it, you guys will clue in for sure and then this is all just pointless.

I'm sorry to those folks that aren't as interested in headphones as I am, but the content will continue to be about the things I think are interesting, not just PC tech.

Also some of the complaints here seem to be pure bandwagoning... The folks that are saying that *I* have sold out to ASUS because *Logan* made however many ASUS videos with JJ... Are you for real? CES coverage aside, I've made 5 ASUS product videos this calendar year. FIVE. If anything you guys should be hounding me about not adequately covering them given what a MASSIVE player they are in the PC space...

And frankly many of the other criticisms are like that... Calling what we do a commercial compared to the older-style unboxings is laughable. GO WATCH THE OLD STUFF. I'M LITERALLY READING THE BOX ON CAMERA. I have no prior experience with the product. It is PURE commercial. Now go watch one of our recent reviews (bear in mind not everything we do is something I'd consider a review) like this one:

Not a commercial. Contains many comparisons to other products. Ends with a recommendation against the product in the video.

As for us not going to Computex, quite frankly it's the viewer-base that spoke on this one. Last time I checked our Computex coverage last year got 1/2 as many views as our CES coverage, and cost our sponsors well over twice as much. You guys didn't care, so we aren't going this year.

    CES 2013 coverage: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8mG-RkN2uTxynknFjCZ2YVM_RiBgde7-
    Computex 2013 coverage: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8mG-RkN2uTyJKThbEAxoGGi8uXxNqnbb

edit: one more thing. Don't take the fact that I'm presenting my arguments here as a dismissal or to mean that I don't care about the viewpoints of my viewers. I truly do. If I didn't care, I would just be like every other YouTuber and ignore your message. I want our videos to make every one of our viewers happy. It's just not always possible

ManBehrPig got a reaction from DarrenP in First Client Build Project!
I'm not even going to bother with the folks flaming you right now. No sense talking to a brick wall. But after doing as you "asked" (should probably try to collect yourself, you're understandably upset.) I made sure I fully read your post and tend to agree with DarrenP, you gave him a bit of a deal in comparison to most repair shops. That being said I'm not sure I'm completely on board with those standard industry prices. I also want to make clear I don't think the industry grossly overcharges, just slightly exorbitant in a very general sense. That all being said, you DO NOT deserve all of this vitriol being thrown your way. Even if one was to glaze over whatever effort was required to get rid of the old computer or set up software, there were definitely elements that needed to be accounted for. The build itself being one but perhaps more importantly the drive over to the client. California is a big ass state, not to mention one of the most expensive for gas. If you are traveling half way up and down the state you could be talking hundreds of miles round trip. Before you know it you could be looking at a gas bill of 60 bucks or more. Then some of you may say the remainder is still too much because places like ncix will build it for 50 bucks and send it to me. Well there is a reason why they can do that. One being that they are a very large company that can afford to take smaller profit margins that a small business can't do because things like overhead are a bigger issue for them. Second is because you are buying the parts directly from them and the prices you are paying on certain components are set to make sure to offset whatever costs are incurred to subsidize the actual building of the computer. And as far as less than optimal part selection, well that can be a subjective subject and what one person sees as more important in a build another may see as less of a priority. At worst you might reasonably chalk it up to inexperience but not necessarily outright deceit.
Ok so maybe some of my post is directed at some of the flamers. Despite the brick wall. :-) I can't say I completely agree with standard I dusty prices but this guy is definitely not a crook.

When you put the CPU in the socket then press down on the mechanism, I'm always scared that the CPU pins will get destroyed or something.

I know it's meant to work like that and I've never had any issues, but you have to press so hard! The 24 pin connector is scary too because you feel like you're going to bend and snap your motherboard in half.

Just wanted to say that I've landed an IT assistant position at a local business and I have linus and his crew at LTT and ncix to thank for it. I used to be an avid console gamer, you know the annoying generic ones that are on youtube that are like. OMG PC GAMIN SO EXPENSIVE AND COSOLES LOOK JUST AS GOOD!! yeah that was me. But after I happened across some tech videos specifically, linus with that old dorky camo cap he wore it convinced me to atleast try PC gaming. I bought my first PCs parts and with linus videos to guide built my first PC when i was purely console about a month before hand. Now a few years later from the departure of camera guy to the arrival of tarren (think thats how you spell it ) I have watched and learned from all your videos and now have put those skills into landing a nice job in a field that I am currently attending college for.
So linus if you read this I thank you so much for showing me and helping discover one of my true passions in life. Keep on making the videos with luke and the gang because you have yourself a life long viewer and admirer.
    -ted block
Side note after making this just for discussions sake. How have linus and them helped you guys? Either directly or indirectly.

Read post #25 in this thread Also, I have been around really high end audio equipment all 31 years of my life. My father is a big audio junkie and understands it more then i will ever know. And yes now a days Bose has concentrated more on movie listening then anything else, but it's still not up to par when you want your ass to rattle when an explosion happens or gunfire is going off. The Bose speakers back in the day were and still are better then the Bose products of today. Bass though is a preference, it depends on the type of person and what they like, like I said before, some people choose more clarity over bass, some choose bass over clarity, and some, myself included, like an array of well balanced between, ass rumbling bass and clarity that you can hear way over the bass at the same time.

I hope you guys enjoy this video because I feel like now, one year into doing phone reviews, this is about as good as we can make them... It's a lot of work, but if you guys enjoy it, then it's all worthwhile....
