Does anyone have any sources on Nvidia limiting manufacturers binning chips? I can't imaging them actually doing that. It would affect their image so poorly like this video.

Hey again LTT community, back with another tech support question. I recently got an HP Elitebook 2760p from the IT department at my college as surplus, but they forgot to remove the BIOS password, so I can't even really do anything with it since they have the boot drive disabled since it does not recognise there is a drive or operating system (I can boot from USB into Linux, but the SSD that is in the laptop does not appear). I've tried a few things, and resorted to removing the RTC battery for 45 minutes, but the laptop has security against this and restores the BIOS settings and password. My instructor for my A+ class recommended that I try to short the BIOS chip or something, but I cannot seem to find it's location. Any help in this matter is much appreciated! Solved

nikon d3300 D3300 Digicamcontrol Live View extremely laggy
Bowzaa replied to Bowzaa's topic in Photography and Videography
Mmm nope. I've seen people recommending the standard A/V Out -> USB cord, so I went ahead and just did it. Even so, I'm not even getting 30fps. I'm getting like 2-3fps. -
So recently I figured out I could use my Nikon D3300 tethered to my PC with DigiCamControl (DCC). I've been toying with it for roughly an hour now and cannot for the life of my figure out how to get a half decent framerate. I'm looking to use it for streaming with OBS Studio and since it offers 60FPS it seems like a great idea, but honestly I'm still really new to actual cameras (picked this up ~2 months ago). Any help would be appreciated, and I'll provide any info needed. Thanks in advance!

PCI -> M.2 Adapter worth it? / Move everything to new drive
Bowzaa replied to Bowzaa's topic in Storage Devices
All right, thanks. My biggest problem was using a tool I've never heard of and the whole cloning operation. Thanks for the tips. -

Okay, good to know. I hope you don't mind if I ask you more questions. I got the SSD in, now I need to format it. Should I do MBR or GPT? Also, once that's done, what do I even do with Partition Wizard? I've never done this before and I really don't want to screw up  -

Huh. Never saw this SSD when I was looking. I'll probably get this and look at M.2 in the future if I do another build, thanks mate! -
PCI -> M.2 Adapter worth it? / Move everything to new drive
Bowzaa posted a topic in Storage Devices
Hey guys, so I've been looking at getting a new storage solution to replace my old 60GB Kingston. Frankly, I'm tired of running out of space due to numerous programs not providing an option to install elsewhere, and it doesn't help that Windows takes up a fair bit of it as well. I've been looking at things like M.2 and PCI for storage, but I have absolutely no idea what I'm looking at, and with a budget of $250 or so (preferably less) I'm fairly lost. Combine this with the fact that I don't really know how to move all my files off my current SSD. Anyone think they could help? -
So we just bought a 4K TV yesterday, and hooked it up and everything. Today, my parents came home with 2 HDMI Cables: 1 8ft rocketfish ($30) and 1 5ft Monster ($90). I am fine with the rocketfish, since it doesn't have any stupid claims written all over the box, but the Monster cable is a pure rip-off with "27.0Gbps connections", "Premium platinum", "Clearer audio" etc. I already explained to them it's a rip-off but now they want to know what other cable to use, and all I can think of is another rocketfish cable. Should I worry about anything or is this a better choice?

Was dumb, ended a svchost.exe or two, audio fails to work

Got 3.5mm earphones, plugged them in, and it seems Windows does not detect them. -

I'll search for some and give it a try, will probably take around 10 minutes. -

USB. Currently using Logitech G633's. I unplugged/replugged and the problem did not fix. I feel like this is more of a windows issue, as uninstalling/reinstalling my headset drivers did not resolve the issue either. -

Can't think of anything I could have possibly have done, because as I said, audio cut out after I ended a svchost process. I went to bed afterwards, was out the entire day today, got home at 7PM EST, turned pc on, no audio. Have been attempting to fix since.
