  1. Hello everyone! I just built a new computer system and I am not extremely knowledgeable with computer hardware. I know the basics and stuff I have learned from YouTube but that is essentially it. I have a couple of questions about my EVGA 1080ti sc2 hybrid card. Precision X does not seem to control radiator fan speed or my gpu fan speed. The pump can change speeds but I would really like to be able to upgrade the fan on the radiator and attach it to my corsair fan controller to be able to control the speeds. Is there any reason to not do this? Also, when I crank up the "G" speed on the precision software there is no difference between 0% and 100%, where when I crank up the "P", I can hear the and feel the pump working harder - is there anyway to control the fan on the gpu itself so my pump doesn't have to work so hard? I don't think I am having trouble with temps I just want to be sure I know about the hardware in my system. Right now I am gaming on BDO on an acer predator x34 4k monitor on max remastered settings. The game is running at 70-75 fps. The precision OSD in BDO says the gpu is at 42c but the actual software says the gpu is at 50-54c. Those temps are very well within the limit, yes? I just want to be sure I am doing everything I possibly can to take care of my system and keep the heat down as much as possible. Thanks for your time!
  2. Oh my that brings back memories... In my opinion the first Yugioh cards were the best. I had more fun with them than Pokemon cards! Nostalgia man... I recognize them all but there is no way I would remember the names. I was.. let's see.. ten when I started collecting them. Good luck man!
  3. Alright I will try that right now. I have an Acer Predator x34 and I have never done any sort of firmware updates on it.
  4. I am on the latest driver from GeForce Experience, maybe I should uninstall and manually download it? Not yet but I could try that. Uh... I am using... these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005H3Q59U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  5. I just finished building a higher end gaming pc but I am getting some odd things happening with this evga 1080ti sc2 hybrid. When gsync is on, I get really bad screen tearing in games. When it is off, it happens now and then but nothing crazy like when it is on. I have tried turning vsync on to help with this but in every single game I try the game crashes and I get "cannot start 3d acceleration". I have tried turning it on with gsync both off and on it doesn't make a difference. Here's a picture of a basic benchmark - does it look like it is healthy? I know nothing about how it should be acting or if this is normal or not.
  6. For my new pc build I have had 3 corsair parts be defective. My ram had two bad sticks, my h115i had a defective pump, and my keyboard came damaged while the box was not. I have a bad taste in my mouth for Corsair right now haha.
  7. Wow thanks! Maybe I just got unlucky, so far I have had 4 bad parts in my new pc build and had to replace them. What's your experience and preference?
  8. Hello! I am building a new system currently and just found out that my power supply has problems. I am debating on refunding instead of replacing my Corsair hx10000i and going with a different brand. In your opinions, what are the best and most reliable power supplies?
  9. Thanks guys I will post again if the new motherboard does not solve my problem and hope that someone can help me figure out what is wrong.
  10. Hello! I am building a new computer but it is stuck in a boot cycle. I am not very knowledgeable with computers so I was hoping one of you fine gentlemen could help me troubleshoot. Here is my build - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/seandwil1/saved/8zXyXL Now I will do my best to describe what is happening. I start the computer, the front rgb case fans light up and spin for about two seconds, the corsair h115i pros fans spin for about two seconds, the corsair h115i logo comes on the pump but the pump does not turn on, (called Corsair to be sure it was plugged into the right spot and it was, possibly bad pump unless the motherboard has multiple issues?) the 1080ti's fan both gpu and on the radiator spin, the pump on the 1080ti turns on (I can feel the water moving and hear it), the logos on the 1080ti all light up, the power supply fan starts, all of my ram lights up, then it all shuts off for about 3 seconds. Then, the power supply makes a clicking noise, and it all starts over again until I switch off the power supply. This all happens before the motherboard posts and my computer screen remains black like there is no input. I have tried just booting the pc with the cpu, motherboard, and power supply and the same thing happens. I spent about 45 minutes trying every possible ram combination I could think of but the same thing happens. A friend who knows more than I but still is not an expert has a hunch that its a bad motherboard. The Amazon tech guy who I could barely understand also thinks it is the motherboard and overnight mailed another one which I will receive today. What do you guys think? If the new motherboard does not fix the issue do you have a hunch on what the culprit is and what I should try replacing or doing next? Thanks for your time and input I look forward to the responses!
  11. I appreciate the advice thank you! I figured it was overkill but I wanted to do my own custom water-cooling setup in the future and I had no idea how much power that would take so I figured better safe than sorry.
  12. It would be a huge problem if Amazon no longer accepted returns of unopened packages!
  13. Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone can see any potential problems with this build. Here are my parts - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/r7HPQZ. I am newish to pc building so I have a few questions if you find yourself bored with some spare time to help me out. This is my second computer build and I am upgrading from a system that a friend helped me build 9 years ago. That system is still functioning... sort of. It's slowing down and I am having trouble keeping the GPU temps within a comfortable range. I have been wanting a new build for a long time so I bit the bullet and bought the components. If you see anything that does not make sense or that would work better please let me know and give me your recommendation. This system is something I have been extremely excited for and I have all of the parts purchased as of last night and they will be here in two days (thank you Amazon prime). I will eventually want more storage. I am not sure if I want to spend $350 USD on another Samsung evo 970 m.2 1tb though. Anyone have a recommendation for another form of storage? I was thinking some sort of high quality mechanical hard drive, preferably 3tb and up. *EDIT* I am also curious about SLI. As long as I use any 1080 card, will SLI work? Would I get any noticeable performance boost from this or is it mostly bragging rights and enthusiast driven? I do not know how the corsair controller that is included with the case works but I am sure I can find videos on how to get everything synced up. I was also curious about any safe building tips you can give me. I ordered a handy dandy Ifixit pro kit to help me with the build, as well as an anti static work mat and a wrist band that goes with it. I noticed that on the back of my PSU there is a switch that changes it between multi and single rail - why and what should I use? I know that in the past wireless headsets sacrificed some sound quality for the wireless aspect. I also know this is not as much the case with the technology of headsets in the past couple of years. I know my motherboard has decent sound but since I am using a USB headset it essentially bypasses all of that, correct? Is there any sort of sound-card that I can get that will help with headphones, wired or wireless, and what would you recommend? I also have some nice speakers from my last PC build that I will be using, so if you can recommend a sound card that will make a noticeable difference I would appreciate it. My case doesn't have a spot for an optical drive. I know most people don't use them anymore but I wouldn't mind having one, call me old school. Are there external optical drives? If so, which one would you recommend that can play blue-ray? Sorry for the novel folks, I appreciate it if you stuck around this long. I finished a beer while writing this and I am sure you will need one after reading it. Cheers!
  14. Ah I see thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it.
