krisulinus reacted to Darkseth in Poco VS Mi9 or other
It is sad.
But it could be just an exception, and it gets better in the future.
On the birght sight: Does not matter if it's oneplus or Samsung.New update will NOT chance how the Device works.
People exeggerate WAY too fucking hard when it comes to updates.
They don't change anything.
When my S7 Edge got it's last Major update (Android 8), guess what did change?
... Some icons looked different.
The phone worked EXACTLY as it did with Android 7.
You can see it in 2 different ways... first updates, or... What does that even change?
Last AUgust/September, the first "Android One" Device got Android 9 Update 3 months after it launched (which is a Joke), while Oneplus 6 got the Update like 3 weeks after.
Oneplus was faster than EVERY single "Android one" Manufacturer.

If you can sell it for $100 less, that's very good, in my country used f1 is selling half the price.
In terms of performance difference, newer phones are more powerfull and more efficient.
More performance, less battery consumption.
Not only the horse power, the camera are getting at least 30% better for the addition of another lens.
Not saying that more lens the better, but Xiaomi really put a good effort in the camera sensors.
Phone price will decrease 30% each new gen comes out. The longer you hold on, the worst it get.
Look at the beautiful, perfectly useable, samsung s8, $1000 phone now only $300.
Personally i liked the F1 specs, but i hate the plastic body, but hey, won't matter if you put the case on.
The cheapest "flagship spec" phone to date, really tough choice, but if loosing $100 is no big deal to you, i say get the mi9.
Snapdragon 845 is only 1 gen away from the latest, i usually get a new phone when i'm outdated 2 gen away, or 2 years top.
The lagging might be software issue, or OS issue, try to flash it with the factory rom or try different custom roms.
It could be that xiaomi "deliberately" slowed down your phone so you buy newer one.
That's what happened to Iphone users.

Yeah Mi9 looks great, finally Xiaomi following the rest of the pack in terms of design.
It has been stuck with aluminium design, while everyone else move to all glass and now rainbow colors.
But if you buy Xiaomi, prepare your phone to be outdated less than a year.

So short before the new oneplus 7, 6t isn't really worth. Except, you really HATE a Pop up Camera, and it HAS to be Oneplus with OxygenOS.
As a Oneplus 6T Owner: At this point, i would probably buy a Xiaomi Mi 9 128gb over a Oneplus 6T 128gb/8gb. Just because it's cheaper, AND offers the new Snapdragon 855.
Still, Oneplus 6T is a very decent phone, if you like what Oneplus does.
@ Xiaomi and outdated: Wtf are you guys talking about? Xiaomi has pretty good update support. More/better/faster than most others.
Sounds stupid but: My Oneplus 6T is still on January Security Patch (late february update still wasn't february patch).
Many samsung phones, even older ones, are already on march patch.
Don't give too much on Updates.

As long as you don't need any of the more "advanced" capabilities of Windows, I agree here. Chromebooks are cheap, and Chrome OS has gotten a lot better. You can get Android apps now, so you'll be able to use MS Word and OneNote or whatever else you'd prefer to use. I've seen plenty of convertible Chromebooks that have touch screens, and I think a couple have come with a stylus

It's different..... But overall not bad, at the very least you don't have to rely on web apps anymore. You can crouton your way to Ubuntu or otherwise if ChromeOS doesn't work for you; but at the same time you could just get a Windows convertible, like a Yogabook or Surface.
Not really, it looks like pricing is dependent on what CPU you get. Celeron equipped Chromebooks are sub $300, while i3 and above only go up from there. Most Chromebooks only have 4GB of RAM (plenty for how light the OS is) and 32GB of flash storage (you'll probably want an SD card or USB drive/external drive if you need more storage).

krisulinus reacted to Gedgn in Pick of full-ATX Case
I vote the top 2 cases. Meshify C and Phanteks Pro M (look at the special edition.)
The rest:
LianLi = poorly designed
FD R6 = you don't need unless space/hdd is a requirement
Corsair 460x = horrible airflow

krisulinus got a reaction from TVwazhere in Pick of full-ATX Case
I've bought Asus strix GTX 1070Ti, 2,5slot, pretty powerful card.
I'm gonna check those cases, thanks for the tips.

krisulinus reacted to TVwazhere in Pick of full-ATX Case
Judging that your card is 298mm, you're probably not using a weak card, meaning you probably need decent airflow for everything.
Meshify C (Top mount rad) <-Recommended
Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG <-Front mount rad Recommended
Lian Li PC-O11D
Fractal Design Define R6
Corsair 460x

krisulinus reacted to Dedayog in Gigabyte Aorus memory
Absolutely not. It's nothing more than memory with lights on it, exactly like the other memory with lights on it.
-
krisulinus reacted to Skiiwee29 in Gigabyte Aorus memory
The extra is likely for the cost of RGB plus the 2 extra sticks of RGB you get as dummies to put in there as well to make it look full.

+ It's Samsung B-die
+ It looks cool
- It's either low quality B-die or just badly set timings. 3200MHz B-die should easily hit 14-14-14-34.
- Likely not worth it performance wise.
I guess it depends. What are the other options?
How much does this bin cost in your country? G.SKill Trident Z RGB F4-3200C14D-16GTZR
If the Gigabyte ones are more expensive than these, I wouldn't buy the Gigabyte set.

krisulinus reacted to Agonizel in CoolerMaster MasterLiquid ML240R RGB
There surely is. But to me it does not matter because you like this one and it's lighting features while it's totally up to the task of cooling your 8600K
Good luck!
