  1. https://www.tek-tips.com lol I just found this and was wondering if Linus knew or even anyone else for that matter
  2. HELP!!! I changed my GPU out and now the folding client won't connect at all. I've tried allowing it through firewall, disableing firewall entirely, restarting, reinstalling, clearing data, removing slots and remaking them... I don't know what else to try... over at the folding@home forums it wouldn't allow me to register in order to post so I couldn't get help over there and the little bit I got from reading other problems similar to mine over there I tried to no avail. If anyone can help me please do... I'm really frustrated at being knocked out at the beginning of folding month. I'll leave the log below I trimmed it to be just the warning and errors and the full log is just more of it for hours. Originally my CPU was still folding but then that stopped as well... *********************** Log Started 2019-10-06T20:11:19Z *********************** 20:11:40:WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get assignment from '65.254.110.245:8080': Failed to connect to 65.254.110.245:8080: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. 20:11:40:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '65.254.110.245:8080': Failed to connect to 65.254.110.245:8080: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. 20:12:01:WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get assignment from '18.218.241.186:80': Failed to connect to 18.218.241.186:80: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. 20:12:01:ERROR:WU01:FS01:Exception: Could not get an assignment 20:12:02:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '18.218.241.186:80': Failed to connect to 18.218.241.186:80: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. 20:12:02:ERROR:WU00:FS00:Exception: Could not get an assignment
  3. Then where do I post it? because now it won't fold at all...
  4. I have pulled it out and put it back in multiple times trying different mounting pressures with no change...
  5. Its out of the case until I get it working and tested so there is no standoffs involved. I had no graphics card connected because I wanted to see it work without one first then I added a graphics card with no change. Both 24 and 8 pin connectors are in with PSU tested.
  6. So I posted a while back about buying a mystery CPU and did a ton of research on that but ended up just buying a known good CPU from superbiz and I put it in my Asrock X299 Fatality Gaming Pro motherboard connected all the power and installed the AIO for cooling but when I go to start it the dr debug just gives me code 00 then flickers once and goes back to code 00 before restarting (the flicker is not even like a second just a quick flash) and it just keeps doing that I tried reseating it and clearing the CMOS then I tried only one stick of ram then I tried connecting a boot drive to it in case maybe it just has a glitchy dr debug and is posting (btw I don't have onboard speaker so idk if its making sound) and so I really don't know what else to troubleshoot the processor is a I7 7800x the ram stick i have switched to different known good sticks that work in other systems to no avail. If you have any advice that would be dope I contacted Asrock support they just told me to do everything I already tried so... I'm waiting to see their next response.
  7. I never even thought about that..... you're probably right... oh well I'll use it as decoration now
  8. or if anyone has a i7 9800x I would gladly buy it from them... I'm just trying to upgrade from my 4th gen i5 so I can do a little heavier lifting
  9. So I bought a blank ihs cpu (guessing it was sanded) just for fun to see if it worked and all I get is code 00 on the dr debug is there any other way to test the cpu because I don't have any known good parts to test it in for socket lga 2066... I'm just curious to see if it works or just is completely dead... like it was only 40 bucks on ebay so I didn't expect much but yeah so if anyone has any ideas to test it or test the motherboard without just buying a whole other one that would be great :)
  10. lol I know I got it all for free though so... I may just sell it
  11. I know what you are saying but I already have the DDR4 for my upgrade to modern tech lol
  12. Ok will do awesome Thanks everyone I am very glad I thought about asking here
  13. Well it is better than the core 2 duo I had before this... but yeah... I cant run a lot of newer titles...
