Not condescending.  I wanted to point out that the word choice you used was incorrect as to what was going on, so you know how others are taking your explanntion of events so they can try to fix the correct issue. If quoting you was bad, I apologize.

That's all, no harm.  I'll add a smiley next time 🙂

    Hope you get it fixed.

Sounds rather condecending tbh, but that's the least of my problems right now.

I guess i'll keep waiting for someone who can help me with my issue / has a way to somehow magically make it so that the gpu doesnt boost itself to infinity, when it's overriding msi afterburner settings.

SooWhat reacted to Haro in Confused about R3 3100 compatability with b450 boards
Most b450 boards if they were manufactured recently will most likely have the new bios
The max boards from msi guarantee zen 2 support like what @Mateyyy
Or look for the sticker on the box that says ryzen 3000 ready
If you got a board that shipped with the old bios just ask the vendor / computer store to update for you.

SooWhat reacted to Mateyyy in Confused about R3 3100 compatability with b450 boards
The latest batches of some B450 boards will come with a recent enough BIOS revision preinstalled to run Ryzen 3000, though this is not guaranteed. You'll have to ask the retailer or check the box for a "Ryzen 3000 Ready" sticker.

That being said, MSI's "Max" B450 boards are guaranteed to work with Ryzen 3000 right out of the box (B450-A Pro Max, B450 Gaming Plus Max, B450M Mortar Max, B450 Tomahawk Max, and some cheaper, lesser boards).

SooWhat reacted to minibois in compatibility of different switches/keycaps
These are both for Cherry MX-style keycaps, which the Kailh keyswitches are (technically not all Kailh.. But most, including yours will be compatible).

Whether it will fully work with your board depends on the bottom row of your keyboard. Take a look at Ctrl, Windows, Alt, Space, etc.
Are Ctrl, Windows, Alt and function keycaps the same size as each other? Are they slightly wider than a normal (letter) keycaps? Most keycaps are '1u', 1 unit wide. The Ctrl, alt, etc. should be 1.25u wide, meaning a keycap + a quarter keycap wide.

If all those are 1.25u, your spacebar will be 6.25u wide. That is the default and will be compatible with both these sets.

It will likely work, just double check the keycap widths on the bottom row.

SooWhat got a reaction from 191x7 in How big of an fps improvement would an upgrade give me
It would enable me to buy more games because I would then "complete" my setup. So, I'd still enjoy high fps on my 144hz. And it would still give me a better experience in the future.

SooWhat reacted to Vishera in How big of an fps improvement would an upgrade give me
I own both CPUs and already did an extensive testing with different GPUs,
In those specific games the FX CPU is enough for more than 60 FPS,
The Ryzen CPU will give you a nice increase in FPS but is not worth the money if those are the only games you play.

SooWhat reacted to SnowyMus in How big of an fps improvement would an upgrade give me
Depends on the graphics card and resolution. I'm assuming you're using the same system on your profile - an RX 580 - and that you're running the game at 1080p.

If so, here's the video someone made of the Ryzen 5 2600 + RX 580 running Rocket League. Go ahead and compare it to whatever performance you get with your current setup.

I saw a video of Rocket League being played on an FX 8320 + RX 480 and a Ryzen 5 2600 + RX 580, and the difference was definitely not trivial, but it looked fairly smooth on both systems.

    I don't know if it's even relevant since it's a 3600x and both using a 2080Ti but I'd say you'll have at least a 25% increase FPS.

SooWhat reacted to 191x7 in How big of an fps improvement would an upgrade give me
It depends on how much of an bottleneck the FX is in those games.
What I can say is it would eliminate the huge framedrops and microstutters. But I have no experience with the exact games you mentioned.

8 is still fine for most games the main prob is ur cpu  but ram is kinda cheap right now adding another 8 would not hurt but if u upgrade to a newer cpu u will need ddr4 anyway ^^

SooWhat reacted to chckovsky in RX570 sapphire pulse vs nitro
The cooler is better and a bit bigger on the Nitro +, but the Pulse is sufficient in most cases (pun intended). The VRM is also a bit different but for air cooling, either would be more than sufficient.Stock frequency is likely also a bit higher on the Nitro+.

Certain vendors bin their chips (MSI had the same PCB for certain Armor and GamingX 10-series models and put the better cooler on the higher clocking chips), but I haven't seen anything that suggests that Sapphire does this. You might still achieve a higher max frequency (both OC and stock) with the Nitro+ because of voltage-frequency and power limit settings on the Nitro+, but the actual differences should be minimal.

These things  _can_ also be customized with a BIOS mod, but you really shouldn't do that unless you have Dual BIOS on your card (if your custom BIOS doesn't work, you can switch to the other BIOS, if BIOS fails on a single BIOS card the card is bricked until you can reload a working BIOS). This is the only truly useful advantage of the nitro+ over the Pulse; the dual BIOS capabilities.

But... While Dual BIOS capabilities are cool, most of us will only ever touch the frequency slider or possibly the power limit slider... Which are both available through OC software like MSI Afterburner, or Radeon settings. Radeon settings even have voltage-frequency settings available, with no BIOS modding required.

TLDR; Either are fine if your airflow is fine and you don't care about BIOS modding and absolute max OC, Pulse is fine. It's a question of // Æ S T H E T I C S // , and if your case/room/country is hot, cooling capabilites.

SooWhat reacted to ch3w2oy in Should I get a new RX570 or a used RX580?
I would go used. I've bought quite a few things used with zero issues (RX 580, 1080 Ti, 2080 and my Radeon VII). It all depends on the price and the brand of the card.

Used products in my current rig with zero issues:
    X470 Crosshair VII
    Ryzen 2600
    Radeon VII
    3600c16 Trident ZRGB
    1000w Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium

    No regrets.

    Good luck!

    I agree.
My Pulse RX 580 8gb is pretty quiet even after overclocking it over the Nitro+ model. I'm glad I chose this over the Gigabyte card.
Fans are also easily replaceable and Sapphire has a good reputation for a reason

    Sapphire hands down.

They've got some of the best coolers and quality for AMD cards.

I'm personally a big fan of their Nitro+ cards, but the Pulse cards are pretty solid too.
