Considering the number of reports of the Killer software making WiFi unreliable, I'm not sure how much you are really missing there.

Good news. Temps are under control. Current ambient temp is around 90 farhenheit and idle temps are around 30-35 celsius and no more than 65 celsius under full load. Maybe the other cooler had just seen too much use. Hoping the temps can keep low. When the time comes, I plan on upgrading my motherboard in the future.

AFAIK Bluetooth adapters always use USB regardless of how they plug in.  The only real benefit of an M.2 card is if it comes with WiFi (the only ones I have seen do) it will use the same antennas so be a stronger signal.  Lag I wouldn't expect to be any different.

On the other hand, a USB card can be plugged in the front of your PC so have direct line of sight to your headphones.  That in itself could still result in better performance than a WiFi adapter with antennas on the back of your PC where the signal is obstructed by the PC case.

write speed up to 5mbps faster ?
are you talking about a IDE disk ? or a SATA disk ?
as on SSD and NVME those 5 mbps of my 500mbps disk does not mather

    anyway
to fix that you just need to do a Defrag once in a while and clean temp folder
or use a program like CC cleaner ( but watch out what you select to clean , not everything is good )
same for startup programs and Virtual Ram
also files you acces regual times will be placed differend , so they boot up faster ( windows .. and there improvements  ) but makes other things slower ( reserved space .. love it )

    and now to OP ( @PapaP )

the best way for me to clean up my messy pc is doing a clean install on a other empty drive
or just a re install and keep old folder

my last clean install was when i installed my new NVME drive , i now use it as my boot drive ( and some trash on it )
i moved all my other files to my 4TB disk ( 4 differend drives , 2TB in total ) and now i got a clean install with out losing a single file
and i can use again 4 disks if needed ( but they are old , over 4 years of online time )

i do that once in a while if my pc get really slow ( because of cluttering and not maintaining ) and i got no problems with it as long i do not lose my files

eather way, if you want easy mainenance , just use a boot drive for windows only .. and other drives for your files
then you can reinstall when ever you like with out losing anything ( not talking about games and there save files in %userdata% map )

I believe I have without a doubt found the issue. Originally, the pump fan was connected to CPUFAN1 port on my motherboard. Upon testing that port with three different 120mm fans, none of them spun. The port must be dead. Temps are back to normal now. Maybe in the process of moving it around, the port stopped working.

Not sure about freenas ( is it a stripped down Linux aka bear metal or a full Linux ? )

With turnkey you can as it is a full Debian install
like on all Linux. You can run java from command line ( if you install it  )
and as long your ports you need are open and available

What you mean with stuck ?
    just a black screen ?
    loading screen keeps loading ?
    pc shuts down suddenly ?

in my case I was getting a blue screen. Because of wrong drivers

my friend was having this issue because bad software version on his ssd

try the following to debug the driver issue ( or maybe bios settings )

    install linux on it
if that works. Do a fresh windows Install

if that windows fails again the. Check your bios to see if you got some is setting ( other os or Linux. Need to be other os )

it also could be the mode he mode the disk is in ( asci ? )

Or you could try to use a other sata port ( worked in my case )

Try to boot in safe mode
disable everything including network ( press f8 at boot until you can select safe mode  )

if that boots then reboot in safe mode with network and manual install the correct drivers

You could use 2 ap systems or 2 repeaters
there are some cheap repeaters but I prefer asus
On other side if it is only 20 Meyer you could do the following

    use a powerlan adapter
and a extension cable ( those of 20 meter )
plug 1 adapter in your home and the second one on the end of the extension cable in your backyard

the powerlan picks up the signal and will work

or if you got already power there. Then just use powerlan and it should also work

Do you created a ramdisk ? Or use cach optimalisation ?

also do a memtest or run a live Linux to see ram usage

if in Linux the ram is also high then the ramtest will probably find errors

also disable page file in windows or manual assign 4gb pagefile
as I see that you got 20gb of pagefile And that slows down the PC a lot

If you do not have HDMI then is there No way for telling for sure

If you have HDMI and still No sound. Then iT could be your Windows settings ( mute button ? Disabled device in sound menu ? Wrong device selected ? Wrong drivers.. HDMI use video card drivers so you got No video installed ? ... )

if everything else works then putting in a soundcard solves your sound problem
and then is your onboard sound broken

but be sure to check in hardware manager first If your sound card is found. If not then iT is broken

then your tv should provide sound

if not. Check your drivers first ( probably that ..97 company )

As long you use the same ram slot color will it be fine
yoir ram will be clocked down to the lowest MHz

so so if you use 3ghz and 1.6 ghz then everything will run at 1.6 ghz

you can even use differend size of ram in each slot but you lose the dual or quad function ( p4 atleast could do that  ) so not recommend
not sure about kit ram ( dual or quad ) if they can work serperated

you need to love windows for that

use that program to move it to a other location so you can get back acces to it

probaly a hidden atribute flag is set by windows someway
i know i could hide it with MSdos ( by using ~ before the name )

you could  try the following to override the error you get now

    open CMD as admin
    type the following
    cd d:/recovery
    dir
( it should show your files )
then use the copy command ( dont know it out of my head )

other solution , if the program found the file then it exist
so you could try to boot from a linux live ... and copy the folder to a other location and remove that folder

Also this methode can be used
    https://winaero.com/blog/how-to-take-ownership-and-get-full-access-to-files-and-folders-in-windows-10/
please ignore all links in there  its just for the turorial and screenshots of how to claim rights back

do this on the D:/ drive , and check to apply also for sub folders ( do not mess the rights up .. else you can not even acces it anymore )

    use a program called Everything
its  a search program that works fast , and if it still exist then it will find that file back for you

else use a undelete program , to restore the sector that contains the file ( if it isnt overwritten)

it is strange that a txt file suddenly dissapear , i only got that once , and it was moved to my desktop under other icons ... i love windows that way

    Hi,
A 980Ti is still a very good performing GPU. I believe that getting a 7700K or just a 7700 (if you don't think about OC) would result in a nice performance jump and I would definitely go for it if possible.
