BottleneckHunter got a reaction from DarkBlade2117 in 150$ Headset recommendations
http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR86/ref=pd_sim_267_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=41wBiTJhS8L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1J909ZWWYEP5BQ2XAK3N
would these work as well?

BottleneckHunter reacted to sobe in 150$ Headset recommendations
If you are worried about directional audio then you do NOT want fake surround sound. If you want surround sound buy a 7.1 speaker setup and spend money redoing the room to reflect sound properly.
Btw, if you insist on fake 7.1, which is horrible for positioning btw, Razer Surround is free to use with ANY headphones. USB is worthless and only worthwhile if you have broken audio jacks.

BottleneckHunter reacted to MadManMarsBar in Battlefield 4 problems with SLI
1. make sure both cards work on their separately
2 re-install drivers ,
3 if its still laggy there is a BF4 SLi 'fix floating about here : http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2955065670145885303/ , when i went from 1x 660 too 2x 660's i saw really bad stuttering but since i did this fix i only stutter for about 15 seconds at the start of a match and than after that its a solid 60 FPS on ultra settings
Hope this helped
EDIT : this link should help too : https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/618930/battlefield-4-sli-fix/

BottleneckHunter got a reaction from Danielaustin1234 in Huge problem with my computer
GingerbreadPK, on 27 Apr 2014 - 3:24 PM, said:
Most Mobo's only have one 16x slot and the rest are 8x. Most likely he just has one 16x and one 8x.
well most mobos have all of there slots x16 in 3.0 with (1) card if you add a second then the other slots go down to 8x or 4x depending upon how old/cheap they are are currently my MB runs both cards at 3.0 x16 because i spent alot of moolah but it works haha. honestly that part doesnt really matter its just raising the cealing to hit a bottleneck it may not even help with performance unless you are throwing crazy scenarios at it like 4k gaming with 3 or 4 titans or something dumb. check each stick individually in each DIMM and see what happens. you said your temps were good so thats ok,. make sure everything is running at stock.
next try wiping the operating system and reinstalling ONLY the geforce experience drivers /regular drivers of course. on Win 8.1! with direct x11.1 it helps alot with performance of gtx 7xx series cards so do it ! if you dont like the look you can make it look like Win 7 with Classic shell its free and i use it on my win 8.1
try reseating the CPU or try with another PSU if thats an option for you
also try disabling onboard video if you can
next need a new motherboard man =[ get ready to RMA =[ sorry.
look for blown capacitors or poofing ones thats a bad sign also

oh also check out your CPU temps, make sure that you have a stable OC or none whatsoever also make sure the cpu has the cooler properly seated and the thermal compound you chose is sufficient, if your cpu starts to overheat it could possibly throttle itself , also same with your GFX cards make sure they are at a stable OC or none , make sure you have the latest video/motherboard drivers /bios updates/ etc / make sure your using geforce experience with the Nvidia card. could be a driver conflict with the amd card do a clean wipe of windows 8.1 it will help with direct x 11.1 which i believe is supported on the nvidia 760 , i know it is on the 780's. if all else fails replace the motherboard sadly

BottleneckHunter reacted to TopplesS in Pc problems - games are choppy and windows 7 acting strangely
A fresh load of Windows is always recommended when building a new PC (or majority new parts), so I'd suggest that being your first step. Backup all your data of course.
As for the issues, I'd suggest taking out all your RAM modules bar one and test. Do the same for the rest of them. Let us know how it goes!

BottleneckHunter reacted to creatip123 in Want better sound with my Razer Tiamat 7.1
Emorarity answered, and yes, the specs alone can't be the point of reference of how good they are. Specs talk about quantity, not quality. My AD700 have frequency range of 5hz-30khz, while the audeze LCD2 'only' have 5hz-20khz. It's 10khz missing there, right? Well, the LCD2 is MILES better than my AD700. I know, I've tried the LCD2 myself.
I think this also refers to what @ShearMe said. While quantity can be bottlenecked, I don't think quality can be bottlenecked. Of course 90% of people talking about audio would refer to quality instead of quantity. While there are people with golden ears, who are looking for quantity (like sound engineers/recording company, looking for a wide range of true frequency headphone), usually they don't want to compromise the quality in exchange to the quantity. That's why those recording companies headphones cost an arm and a leg....

BottleneckHunter reacted to Wiflare in need help with custom built pc
If you didn't already have the 760 I would just suggest a 780.
You don't need more than 650 watts for dual 760s either.
You might want to get an fx-8150/8320/8350 and a cheaper motherboard for more more budget room.
Pcpartpicker is your friend, usually.

Or tag with

This looks alright yes.
I think a 750W PSU would be overkill unless you want to SLI that 760 later.

BottleneckHunter reacted to Cwazywazy in Should I put my pc on the ground?
I have mine on a hardwood floor. I just clean the front intake filter every week or two and I've only had to clean the side intake filters once since I've gotten the case 4 months ago.
If it's a hardwood floor then you can just put it on the ground as-is (Mine faces down.) but if it's a carpet then flip your PSU up to intake from inside the case because a carpet can restrict airflow and cause your PSU to overheat which is no fun. With a hardwood floor it really makes no difference if it's on your desk or on the floor. (It's still a flat surface..) And don't worry about your GPU temps. It'd have little, if any, effect on them. (Don't worry about overclocking performance either. That will be fine.)
EDIT: Just read that it's a carpeted floor. Just flip the PSU and you'll be just fine.

BottleneckHunter reacted to Shack Tastic in The end of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in sight?
I have no clue why you feel like that but I have a STRONG feeling you highly misinformed about bitcoin and its beneficial use-cases. Currently, when you buy something online, you give the site not only your name, but also your house address, email address, credit card info, and whatever other info they want to have. Bitcoin allows you to purchase something online without giving up your information to sites, and the hackers who hack those sites...Also, in order for money to be sent quickly around your country and even the world requires massive fees placed by money transfer companies(who do need to profit). Bitcoin allows you to send money to anyone in the world for free, or an extremely small miner's fee. I don't know what your gripe with crypto-currency is, but information is key in making an informed decision on a subject.
