  1. 04/27 I tested out my 405w Enermax Tomahawk, same thing happened, I now assume its a MoBo issue
  2. I don't think I'm comfortable doing that, I'm just gonna try with my current PSU but no periphirals plugged in apart from my mouse, thanks for the help though man!
  3. But how come I can put a 100% load on my CPU which supposedly has a TDP of 65w, but as soon as I use my GPU which has a TDP of 35w, it crashes?
  4. Even if it's a brand new PSU? (Cooler Master MWE BRONZE 450W 80Plus Bronze PSU MEPS Approved 86/88/85 , Low Noise, 3 Year warranty) I do have an old dusty 425w Enermax Tomahawk PSU, but I do not know if its safe to use because it is so dusty..
  5. Ok, I just tried both configs of the 2x4gb, no matter what, the crashes are happening and it was at the same time (whenever I click start search in CS:GO - So i'm assuming its whenever it tries to put even a small load on my GPU, how would I go about assessing if this is a busted PCIe slot if I only have one slot?)
  6. I previously had them in that configuration and the crashes were happening and isn't Channel A for the 2x4gb, then Channel B for the 1x8gb?
  7. Consulted User Manual, sticks were in the right slots, removed the single 8gb stick and crashes still happened. Here's a video of it >
  8. Hey all, so on the 31st of March, I decided it was time to build a new PC, as I was getting tired of the performance of my old PC, so I went out bought new parts to build said PC (Specs: Ryzen 5 2600, ASUS PRIME B450M-A mATX, Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb (1x8gb) DDR4-2666MHz, Cooler Master MWE Bronze 450w 80+ Bronze, Nvidia Geforce GT 1030, WD Green 240gb SSD) Now every component was brand new, except for the GPU which I purchased on August 5th 2018 and the SSD which I purchased on the 16th of November 2018 and only ran in my old system (with no issues) What's the issue then? Well you see, from the time I bought it, I would get random restarts (no blue screen, just display dying then PC rebooting, no event log reports etc) whenever I put more than like a 25% load on my GPU. "Alright the issue is the GPU then, correct?" Well that's the thing, I then switched the GT 1030 for my old GTX 560 (switched drivers etc) and the issues still occurred What steps have you taken to Troubleshoot it? - Quadruple checked all connectors are in correctly and firmly - DDU'd old GPU drivers - Updated all drivers - Updated BIOS - Changed GPUs (from a GT 1030 to my old GTX 560) - Bought 8 more gigs of new RAM - Replaced Thermal Paste on CPU - My Motherboard only has one PCIe 16x slot, so I cannot test if that is the issue. - I doubt it is a PSU power issue as the GT 1030 has a 35w TDP and the Ryzen 5 2600 has a 65w, leaving more than enough headroom for power - Ran Windows 10 admin tool to check if RAM had any issues (it didn't) - I can put a load on the CPU without any issues (rendered multiple video in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018) Now I'm sitting here with a PC I've spent over $1,000 NZD on that crashes whenever I want to game or render videos. I just need advice for further troubleshooting, how would I go about this? Literal list of every component and price for those wondering (NZD) Case - $10 CPU (Ryzen 5 2600) - $279 Mobo (ASUS PRIME B450M-A) - $141.50 RAM (HyperX Fury 1x8gb 2666Mhz) - $109 RAM (HyperX Fury 2x4gb 2666Mhz) - $98.99 PSU (Cooler Master 450w PSU) - $80 GPU (Nvidia GT 1030) - $152.92 SSD (WD Green 240gb SSD) - $63.80 MIC (Blue Snowball iCE) - $75 WEBCAM (Microsoft HD-3000) - $29 (+$6 Shipping) SPEAKERS(Logitech Z213 Black) - $39 $1,084.22 NZD
  9. While trying to troubleshoot some issues with my new PC, I noticed 2 things were off - Speccy believes I have 1333MHz RAM while Windows knows I have 2666MHz (minor) But Speccy was displaying my CPU temp as 73c (idle) while MSI was 24c, I'm assuming the MSI report is more accurate but why is this happening?
  10. 16/4/2019 Still happening with both the GT 1030 & GTX 560Ti after uninstalling display drivers... must be a faulty PCIe? sadly I don't have the money to chuck into a new MoBo and my MoBo only has 1 PCIe slot, this only happens under GPU load, as I can render videos in premiere when not using the GPU accelerated rendering
  11. Temps do not pass 45c Only have 1 PCIe 16x slot I just tried DDU, had 3 graphics drivers installed (Intel HD Graphics 2000, GT 1030 & GTX 560, unistalled all and did a fresh install of GTX 560 and am yet to have any crashes (2 hours in) Will keep you updated!
  12. Hey all, So in August of 2018, I purchased a GT 1030 as it was the only decent half-height low-profile card that would fit in my dell optiplex 790 (i5 2400, 8gb DDR3, 240gb SSD) Now I never intended to heavily game on that card, and never had any issues with it (played CS:GO & Minecraft, Vsync on) This card served me quite well up until recently where I bought a brand new system and actually pushed it beyond 50% usage. (Ryzen 5 2600, 8gb HyperX Fury DDR4 2666Mhz RAM, ASUS PRIME B450M-A, 450w Cooler Master PSU, Used old SSD & GPU) So anytime I put it under more than ~60% load, my display first crashes "no signal" then my whole system reboots. At first I thought it may be a power issue, but the GT 1030 supposedly only takes 30w when under full-load, and PCIe can provide up to 75w. Next I thought it was temperature issues, but nope, this happened while my card still sat at around 45c. Now I can guarantee that this is a GPU issue, as when I put my old GTX 560 Ti in, I could push it to 100% usage. I'm just wondering, did I get a crap card? Am I eligible for warranty? How could I troubleshoot further?
  13. Hey all, So I recently purchased a dell optiplex 790 SFF for pretty cheap The specs are: - i5 2400 - 8gb DDR3 1333Mhz RAM - 500gb HDD 7200 RPM - 240w Power Supply Say I was to have a budget of around $100 USD - Would a GT 1030 be the best option considering I'm limited by the PSU & Case? (This motherboard won't fit in your typical ATX or mATX case)
