  1. I prefer upgradable ram and storage because I’d like to upgrade in the future... 8 hours of battery isn’t as bad... I don’t really have any specific weight in mind the lighter the better but again if it’s on the heavy side, it wouldn’t be a problem. I won’t be doing and photo/video editing so I don’t really care about color accuracy.
  2. I know it's out of topic, but any thoughts on a certified refurbished Alienware m15, 9th gen core i7, 16 gb ran and 256 SSD with RTX 2060 for $1400? my friend recommended it for me...
  3. Yeah yeah a low end dGPU is fine... I study machine learning so having a dGPU even a low end one makes all the difference...
  4. Any thoughts on the HP ENVY - 13-aq0077nr with mx250?
  5. Sorry for the late reply! I live in the US, and my budget is around $1300... I'm going to be out for about 10 hours per day so battery life kinda matters to me... as for weight, the lighter the better (I posted asking about another the MSI PS14 which you also replied to)
  6. yeah I'm checking the zenbook and a couple other laptops
  7. MSI PS42 Prestige 14" - 8th gen Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 - 256GB SSD. Any thoughts? Looking to possibly buy it, cost around $1200. should I go for it? Some people recommended a few models from HP and ASUS with similar configurations. main use would be for college work (which includes some coding), light gaming, and general media streaming... I really need the long battery (9 hrs or higher), I have days where I'll be out for 10-12 hours... other recommendations are appreciated.
  8. The main use will be mostly college work some gaming on the side, I think I might end up going with an XPS 13” and just forget about the graphics card... thank you all
  9. Hello, I'm looking to possibly buy a Razer Blade 15 (2018) with 16gb memory, 256 SSD, 2Tb HHD, and a gtz 1060 max-Q. It's going to cost me around $1450... Should I go for it (considering all the problems I've been hearing like swollen batteries and other complaints)?
  10. Yeah, but I don't think they're going to make it.
  11. True, That's why I was considering something like Lenovo ThinkPad T480. Not a workstation, but it sure can handle some serious work. and It has a great battery life.
  12. The weight doesn't really matter as long as it's under 2.5 kg. I'm looking for something with a 7 hours or more battery life. I never heard about any cooling problems with workstation laptops.
  13. Lenovo ThinkPad T580. According to Lenovo, you can get up to 27 hours battery life. Product link: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-t-series/ThinkPad-T580/p/22TP2TT5800
  14. I'm looking to buy a mobile workstation. My current budget is $1500. Is there any good any good mobile workstations under this budget? I need a good processing power and a decent graphics card, but I also need a really good battery life (preferably 7 hours or more). Any Ideas? I thought about getting a gaming laptop and use it for light work while I do the heavy work on my desktop PC, but gaming laptops have some serious battery problems. most of them won't last more than 3.5 hours.
