  1. back in 2007/2008 I built my first gaming pc which consisted of MSI K9N4 SLI (MS-7325) motherboard AMD Athlon X2 6000+ Processor 4GB of DDR2 800 Memory EVGA 6800GT Graphics card 256 SSD Hard drive that I upgraded to 5 years ago Thermaltake Tsunami Case needless to say I have not done any PC gaming in years and have mainly done console gaming but for my bday this year my wife surprised me by telling me she had saved up the money for a new gaming pc so my new system is going to consist of ASUS TUF X570 Wifi Motherboard AMD Ryzen 3600 G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (For AMD Ryzen) Series 16GB DDR4 3600 CAS Latency 16 Gigabyte Geforce RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC Graphics Card Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition CPU Cooler Samsung Evo 970 500GB NVMe Hard drive Phantek P400A Case EVGA 650 Watt Gold+ Rated Power Supply Everything came in this week, building it this weekend pictures coming soon
  2. Yeah I was actually looking at getting the ASUS TUF x570 board and the reason i switched is the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus Motherboard has way better reviews, not saying the TUF board is a bad board but looking at the reviews the MSI X570 Gaming seems to be a better/safer bet.
  3. what I am thinking is in a few years when Nvidia releases there next Gen cards, I am willing to bet they will use Gen 4 PCIE which means all I will have to do is maybe a BIOS update and I can buy a new card and use it without having to purchase a whole new board. I realize this is all wishful thinking but still if spending an extra $50 now may save more from buying a differnet/new board later then I think it would be worth it.
  4. But x570 does come with gen 4 pcie which I realize is brand new and there are not many products for it yet but still down the road if I want to upgrade (insert part here) I can
  5. No Arguments on the monitor, but The Tomahawk max is sold out on both newegg and Amazon, but surprisingly best buy has it, my question is why would I switch for that other than a $55 price difference?
  6. Shout out to my amazing wife who sneakily stashed money away for months to surprise me on my bday with the money needed to buy a new Gaming Rig, My last rig I built 10 years ago and have not done any pc gaming for years as it was just to old to do any real gaming. My New Rig consist of Phanteks P400A Case MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus Motherboard AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL16 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 Super GAMING Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - NVMe EVGA 650 GQ, 80+ GOLD 650W OC C27G1 27" Curved Frameless Gaming Monitor FHD 1080p, 1800R VA Panel, 1ms 144Hz, FreeSync Haven't bought it yet, going to this weekend, if you guys have any suggestions I am always opened, have changed hardware 2 or 3 times already.
  7. @RelativeMonoI think I'm going to go with the 2070 super, I can afford so might as well. May not be the best price to performance but at least I know going in what to expect. But you guys did help me a lot I decided to go with a 3600 instead of a 2700x and get cas 16 memory at 3600 speed and a different case
  8. thats great info, definitely will check out a difference case and thanks for the suggestion on the timings
  9. @Streetguruthanks for the input, definitely am considering going with the 3000 series, question is i had already found a set of Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3600 memory on amazon or $74 so is there any specific reason why I would go with 3200 instead of 3600? and I was thinking of going with the Phanteks PH-EC416PTG_BK Eclipse P400 Steel ATX Case
  10. Thanks so much for all the feedback you guys, definitely gives me food for thought, @Princess Luna I have not bought the parts yet, I am basically basing my list on this video while not getting those exact parts but sticking to similar. I am have always been a AMD fan as far as CPU's goes and since Ryzen is still good price to performance I see no real reason to switch to Intel right now. If it was building a balls to the wall rig going all out no expense spared, I would def spring Intel, but for just a mid tier build such as this I figure AMD will suite me just fine, and I do know the the 3600 right now is almost exactly priced the same as the 2700x, my reasoning for going with the 2700x is because it has more cores, not necessarily because it has the best performance, but I still go back and forth between the two quite a bit and probably wont make my final decision until I order, still not sure which GPU to go on, seems a lot of people are saying they are having drivers issues while others are saying they are great. sooo not sure
  11. Hey All, working on building a new rig and I am seriously considering the 5700XT as it is obviously better value for money against Nvidia's 2070 Super, I am going with just a mid tier system for around $1000-1500 doing 1080p 144hz gaming. Ryzen 2700X CPU, B450 Motherboard, 16 GB 3600 speed Memory, 650 Watt Gold Power Supply and then either the 2070 Super or the 5700 XT, I can afford both just trying to decide which I should get and obviously if I can save a buck I am all for it. now I am a longtime Nvidia User, not necessarily a fanboy, just have always used Nvidia's GPU's and one thing that worries me is the driver stability for the AMD cards, so help me out guys, would you say AMD Drivers are just as good as Nvidia's are is it also, they are almost there but not quite. Should I make the jump to Team Red or Stick To Team Green?
