If it only has one stick you want a second stick anyway, dual channel makes a pretty significant difference to performance especially for anything using the iGPU.

IDK if your laptop bios supported this, but some models you can change the vram allocation. Maybe try to changing it to a lower value. Or if you have the money just another ram stick.

Simply install another stick of 8GB...

i believe that switches betwen a high power BIOS and a low power BIOS. so switching it to the lower, or higher state depending on how it was firts probably stabalized the card again.
you could try flashing the entire bios again, tough that could brick the card if it goes wrong.

Are you using Display Port ? I have the same issue with that.
    It's a known DP "issue".

Sometimes the BIOS/post only comes on one specific display connector.

You could throw it in the bin and buy another one, that would work.

Seriously though just wiping the drive is the best thing to do, maybe you could clean it up, but as soon as you connect your backup drive, the executable you missed that starts with Windows encrypts that too.

Format the drive(s) in your system. Then once it is formatted, reinstall your backup.

We can't know what drivers were installed on your laptop, it's not like having your model or SN would give us the exact driver version that was installed on it.

    Try to DDU and then get the drivers from Acer directly ;

Unless you have something else wrong with the PC, it should be. Borked drivers could keep it from outputting video, that's why you DDU to make sure there isn't a scrap of the messed up drivers on your PC, then you download a fresh copy and give it another try.

Same with any other device, if the drivers get borked it shows up as generic (whatever it is) device in Device Manager and doesn't work properly.

Run DDU as suggested, and while installing the new drivers make sure that the factory defaults checkbox is checked as that seems to resolve a lot of people's issues.

Think of a heatpipe that has the dimension of a trackpad on a laptop with fins on one side, thing to cool on the other. Vapor chamber is just used for spreading heat out to the fins.

Yes, those particular sectors in that partition are dying. I'd back up your data post haste...

CRC errors are signs the drive is dying or already dead. You can't fix that short of buying a new one (well, that's the short version. The long version is you can get around a CRC error, but it's a sign you need to replace the drive)

I've used TestDisk before to recover a RAW partition, but I'm not sure if it's effective at recovering data from an overwritten partition.

(as some back up, formatting the drive doesn't erase the data, it just rewrites the partition information and the partition information claims the HDD is blank)

i've done it once a long time ago, i don't even remember the name. Try googling it and find out what is the best and that you can afford or go for a free one.

Just don't do nothing in that drive until you figure out what to do as writing over the data will then make recovery much harder if not impossible.
