  1. Hey all! I've recently finished building my pc and got a set of (supposedly) ARGB fans, but I found out that my motherboard is missing the ARGB pins, even tho it was advertised as them being there. Now I don't want to change the motherboard, but I do want to get my rgb working. Motherboard: Gigabyte B360M HD3 https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B360-HD3-rev-10#kf Fans: Silentium Stella 120mm ARGB https://www.silentiumpc.com/en/product/stella-hp-argb-120-pwm/ The fans have 2 separate cables, one which goes into the power slot and one into the rgb slot. Both cables have extensions, so you can connect your fans speed and/or rgb together. The PWM is a standard 4 pin cable The RGB one is a split end cable that turns into a 3 pin cable using a convertor Question is, what rgb controller do I need to get them to work, or can I diy the ARGB pins onto my motherboard?
  2. My Specs CPU: Intel i7 8700 3.2ghz Motherboard: Gigabyte B360M D3H RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Red 2x8gb Ddr4 2666Mhz PSU: nJoy Woden 80+ Gold, 750W Case: Silentium RG1W Storage: Samsung Evo 860 500gb M.2 SSD and Samsung Evo 860 1Tb SSD Main purpose is gaming, already have this built and I'm using a 1050ti leftover from my old system, I'm looking for something that would match the power level of the build in general to minimize bottlenecks As of now I'm only using 2x 1080p monitors. What I'm planning on doing is to get another 2 monitors to extend my screens left and right, so that would be 1x 2080p for discord and such and 3x 1080p for wide-screen gaming but I'd mostly use it for teamspeak and twitch while gaming in the middle one. I'm most likely going to upgrade the main screen (currently 32 inch plasma TV) to a 1440p screen Suggest a GPU that would fit the system, price is not really an issue
  3. This is a recording of me watching a YT video in 1080p This is a recording of me playing a game when using 8 gigs of ram, now that i have 16 i have no more of this I fixed the above game issue by doubling my ram, but it still freezes for 1 second every now and then My Specs CPU: Intel i7 8700 3.2ghz Motherboard: Gigabyte B360M D3H RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Red 2x8gb Ddr4 2666Mhz GPU: Asus STRIX Rog OC 1050TI 4gb PSU: nJoy Woden 80+ Gold, 750W Win 10 64 bit, latest bios and video driver Windows is on a WD Green 120gb M.2 SSD and everything else on a 2tb barracuda 7200rpm hdd Any idea why my YT is glitching like that, and any idea why my game is dropping to 1fps every now and then?
  4. Bit of an update, i took my 7 year old 500gb barracuda 7200rpm 8mb hdd and mounted it, moved some software and games onto that, no more freezes or stutters and twice as fast loading times on those now, so i guess my hdd is faulty
  5. I'm upgrading my current 120gb ssd to a 500gb anyway for some games and shadowplay, so that's out of the picture for now
  6. So long story short, I had enough of the bad loading times and general performance and stuttering cause of the game being unable to load textures and such, and lets say when I ran a game for my hdd and saved down the last 5 minutes with shadowplay to that same hdd the loading times were insane! so I decided to hook up my old hdd into this new rig and after running some tests this is what I got: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CrystalDiskMark 6.0.1 x64 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2TB BarraCuda 7200rpm 64mb ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Sequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 156.328 MB/s Sequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 115.499 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 8,T= ? : 0.981 MB/s [ 239.5 IOPS] Random Write 4KiB (Q= 8,T= ? : 0.689 MB/s [ 168.2 IOPS] Random Read 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 1.043 MB/s [ 254.6 IOPS] Random Write 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 0.643 MB/s [ 157.0 IOPS] Random Read 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 0.405 MB/s [ 98.9 IOPS] Random Write 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 0.541 MB/s [ 132.1 IOPS] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 500GB BarraCuda 7200rpm 16mb ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Sequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 122.121 MB/s Sequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 120.805 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 8,T= ? : 1.711 MB/s [ 417.7 IOPS] Random Write 4KiB (Q= 8,T= ? : 1.591 MB/s [ 388.4 IOPS] Random Read 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 1.747 MB/s [ 426.5 IOPS] Random Write 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 1.604 MB/s [ 391.6 IOPS] Random Read 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 0.616 MB/s [ 150.4 IOPS] Random Write 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 1.564 MB/s [ 381.8 IOPS] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- OS : Windows 10 Professional [10.0 Build 17134] (x64) My SpecsCPU: Intel i7 8700 3.2ghzMotherboard: Gigabyte B360M D3HRAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Red 1x8gb Ddr4 2666Mhz (soon making it 2x8gb)GPU: Asus STRIX 1050TI OC 4gb (soon 1080TI)PSU: nJoy Woden 80+ Gold, 750WCase: Silentium RG1W Storage: Wd green mini ssd 120gb Storage: BarraCuda 2tb 7200rpm 64mb Storage: 500gb BarraCuda 7200rpm 16mb The only thing I see the old one being worse in is the Sequential Read but performing better in everything else? Should I get a different 2tb hdd, since this 500gb isn't enough and I don't want to keep both in the system cause this might not last long, if so do you guys have any recommendations?
  7. No idea how to check that mate, maybe you can find it somewhere? here are the drives Mini SSD Western Digital NEW Green 120GB, SATA3, M.2 WDS120G2G0B and Hard disk Seagate BarraCuda 2TB, SATA3, 256MB, 3.5inch ST2000DM005
  8. Well, silly me... I forgot that I can adjust the position of the cooler fan... everything is solved
  9. Unless I can change the fan rotation speed, I can't mount it the other way since the back side is different from the front Pretty sure it blocks
  10. So long story short, in order to fit in a 2nd ram stick, I either change the whole cooler, get a new fan and attach it to the back of the cooler (instead of pushing the air through, it pulls it through) or I change the airflow from front-to-back to back-to-front. Currently I have 3 case fans (1 in the back and 2 in the front) 1 fan in the psu and one in the cooler + the 2 on the gpu which almost never turn on So, will it cause any big issues if I invert the airflow? Cooler fan blocking the ram slot Airflow now Inverting airflow by rotating all fans and changing the cpu cooler fan location
  11. I have 2 pieces of 6gb/s cables connected into 6gb/s sata 3 slots
  12. Wd green mini ssd 120gb for system files and programs like unity and blender and a 4tb 7200rpm barracuda hdd for games movies etc (from what I heard there are 2 variants, one with 2 disks and one with 3, 3 being much worse in performance, I have 3 so I have to change it) didn't monitor the speeds yet, so far was only checking temps and those are stable
  13. Yeah, definitely a good idea, before this pc I never used ssd, now I see why I should. Atm can't spare any money otherwise I won't have money for driving courses and exam
  14. What I meant by that is that I load all the stuff than the game freezes for a bit before fully loading
