Sadly it's American. My budget will likely stretch to around two thousand USD if needed, but I don't believe I can go beyond that.

I'm mainly looking at games like satisfactory as a benchmark of how hard I have to push a laptop. So a windows system, 64 bit which is almost always the case now. An i5-3570, 3.4 ghz 4 core processor. 8gigs of memory, and a graphics card equivalent to a Nvidia GTX 1650 or 1050-ti, or an AMD EX 470 or 570.

How much is your budget, what you'd like to spend, and how much could you stretch it to if it was absolutely worth it?

I just bought a PC, that was $2.2k Canadian, when my budget was originally $1.5k Canadian, but it was worth stretching my budget for me because of the specs I got, on sale, that would've been much more expensive not on sale.

So, first tell us your budget, then we could help you better with whether you should take it or leave it.

I will say though, this looks pretty good, and if this was in Canadian Dollars it'd be a steal, but I suspect it's American.

I literally have to go to sleep right now, so I can't take my system down and open it right now, but maybe after the grind at work tomorrow I will remember, that is if I am not too "influenced" by the Jack Daniel's Whiskey and Cola mix I am gonna buy on the way home.

I will think about it for sure.

Twiggy1995 got a reaction from kirashi in Can an upgraded Dell XPS 8700 from 2015 Game?
A little over a month ago, I bought a used Dell XPS 8700 from a guy, only $375 Canadian, and it was a big upgrade over my mid 2011 mac mini I had previously.

    Specs:

    3.2ghz 64bit quad core i5-4460
    16GB DDR3 ram
    1tb hard drive
    gtx 745
    460w dell PSU

before I did any upgrades GTA V did run smooth but on quite low settings.

my first upgrade was a 600w bronze evga power supply, and just a few days ago I got a GTX1060.

Playing GTA V it now automatically sets itself to pretty high and good looking settings, and it barely drops below 60fps according to steams fps counter, and when it does, it is still 57fps or higher.

3 days ago, I bought Fallout 4, it automatically set itself to "ultra" and it looks amazing. 95% of the time, even during combat it remains at 60fps, sometimes it goes up to 63fps, and very rarely it drops between 55 and 59fps. It only dropped to 42fps once right after getting out of a loading screen.

So to answer the question, can it game? I'd say yes it can game. It does indeed seem to be able to hold it's own.

I am looking at getting a 2tb hard drive, and later on an i7-4770 as high of a clock speed as I can find at a reasonable price.

I'm glad that the GTX1060 greatly improved performance, after I spent what came to be $485 Canadian once taxes were counted.
