  1. The form factor is the exact same, both are M.2 SSDs. The stock SSD had a thermal pad on it, which I removed and placed on the 2TB one, but when I put the stock one back in (and placed that same thermal pad on it), oddly enough the issue vanished.
  2. Hey everyone, I've been having problems with my Blade 15 2018 (1070MQ, 8750H, 16GB). I swapped out the stock (probably Samsung) M.2 256GB SSD for an Intel 660p 2TB SSD, around March 2019. A couple months ago, the PC started overheating a LOT. We're talking 50-80C idle with fans on max. The load temps were 100C according to OpenHardwareMonitor (though I found it weird that it never went a degree above 100). After Razer told me to return it, I swapped out the 2TB SSD for the stock 256GB one, but after checking to see if the problem still was there, the problem was gone. Reduced to atoms. The weird thing is that I also did a factory reset of the 2TB drive, but the problem persisted. Does anybody have any idea what I'm dealing with here? Because I have no clue.
  3. I'm not that familiar with computer science, but if it requires a lot of graphical horsepower I'd say go with the 15. If not, go with the 13. The form factor is way better imo.
  4. Hi everyone! I was contemplating getting one of those new mbp15s mid-spec refurbished, but after watching a couple of reviews I concluded that it was laughable compared to the XPS 15, and at the same price even though the XPS is specced out. I would however like to try MacOS of several reasons, one of them being Logic Pro X. I have seen loads of showcase videos of Hackintosh working perfectly on XPS 9550s but not 9560 (though I presume it's the same, more or less). In short, I'd like to know how to put Hackintosh on a specced out Dell XPS 15 9560. Thanks in advance.
  5. Seriously though, AMD has yet to bring a top tier card that could ever hope to compete with nvidias top tier card. Why is that? Why can't AMD make better cards?
  6. Thing is, the reason intel's such a shitty company nowadays is because of lack of competition. Sure, AMD makes CPUs too, but frankly they're just shit compared to intel. An intel quad core is better than like an amd 8 core, really says a lot.
  7. For future reference, I used a needle to crush the silica ball and it worked! Though my jack is a bit fucked now
  8. I actually screamed when I found out why my headphone jack didn't fit into the connector. Long story short, there's a silica ball stuck in my headphone jack and I have no idea how to get it out. I've tried using superglue on a toothpick, that didn't work. Any ideas? Please?
  9. To be clear, I'm not gonna ship it, I'm planning to buy one next time I visit the US. And also, as you can see in the images below, you can't just place some stickers because they have different keyholes.
  10. Hey everyone, I'm from Norway and shit's like 2x more expensive here. And since I don't wanna blow all of my money on a laptop, I wanna buy one from the US. Thing is, they don't sell it with the nordic layout. I've heard that you can change the keyboard manually, but i'm not sure about how easily that's done and where to buy the parts. But I wanna know if it is possible in theory, to buy one with american layout and then buy a new keyboard and replace it, and possibly if anyone knew where i could get my hands on it. Thanks in advance
  11. Hi everyone, I'm planning to buy the new XPS 15, and though I don't wanna buy it because of gaming, I'd like to do a little bit of gaming on the side. However, it's quite obvious that a 1050 can't run modern games in 4k. I'm wondering if anyone has had some experience with playing on 1080p on a 4k laptop. Thanks in advance
  12. There really isn't much to it, for 1080p gaming a 1060 is more than enough, and when it comes to processors, just get one that has 4 cores and above 3GHz clockspeed. I think that that's more than enough. Some say 8GB of RAM is enough, and they might be right, but I'd recommend 16GB. RAM frequency doesn't mean shit. Get an SSD as a boot drive, and a larger HDD as a storage drive. The rest doesn't really matter that much
  13. Hi, I'm from Norway and as some of you might have heard, shit's fucking expensive up here. A nintendo switch costs more than 120 USD more here than in the US. So my plan is to buy a switch next time I'm in the US. I've heard that it doesn't have region locking, but I wasn't sure if there were any other problems I could encounter that I should have in mind. Can you guys tell me the pros and cons of doing this? Thanks in advance
  14. It's on the PC, and please say that there are other solutions than reinstalling drivers, last time I did that I went days without audio on my computer.
