  1. Just some extra information that was left out in regards to twitters layoffs. These where the two emails sent to employees, the email on the left serves as a pretty clear notice of termination giving employees their 90 days notice. over this 90 days, they will still recieve severance pay and benifits until the 2nd of Febuary while they look for a new job. The lawsuit will likely go nowhere. Employees where only walked out the the office and had their access to twitters systems removed yesterday, they where not terminated yesterday.
  2. Hey guys, got a quick question in regards to the UDM-pro setup requiring a UI account and remote access being forcefully enabled with no way to disable it. I would imagine some of you here are running this router and might be able to answer these questions. I have been thinking about getting this router, but this problem is the only thing holding me back. I do not understand why any router would require something like this, it is a nice option to have I guess for those whom want to access their router remotely (i prefer to just VPN into my network and access it remotely like that) but to have it always on and no way to disable it, and requiring it on set up to me is a bit ridiculous However all the posts that i see complaining about this design flaw are all from about 7-10 months, I am wondering if they have added in the option to use local admin accounts only, and to skip the UI account creation during setup. Or at the very least being able to disable remote access or even decouple the account from the router after setup, so that only a local client with a local admin account can see and do anything on the router. I gotta ask, what do people who buy this device for use on an intranet do to set it up? or if you do set it up with a UI account, what do you do if your WAN connection is dead and you need to get into the router to fix it, how do you do that if the only access to the router is through the online portal, you would essentially have an absolutely useless router. or what if you do not even have an internet connection at the time of setup? to me this seems like an incredibly smooth brained oversight that has absolutely no good reason for it to exist. A side question: does the WAN SFP ports support sync rate of 2.5g? I cannot find any recent posts online about it, but some post indicate that there was a firmware update in the works to enable 2.5g sync rates on the WAN SFP ports, I just want to confirm this is indeed the case. It is not a super big deal breaker, I just really want to yeet my ISP's garbage modem/router combo out the window for its terribly buggy "advanced DMZ" mode and no proper bridge mode, so I am stuck with a double NAT. HH3000 users may know my pain. If there is no solution to the first question, Is there any other good alternatives the a router like the UDM pro? Not being able to disable or skip the UI account creation should be a massive deal breaker for any network admin cause stuff like this happens all the time:
  3. malone tuning tunes car ECUs (pretty much the computer brain of the car) and they area literally across the street from LTT, I know LTT wants to get into cars, at least linus said he did when he bought that disgusting volt, I recommend they hit up malone considering they are literally right there, and they do a collab. Also a deep dive into the biggest hack in history that just occurred would be awesome. how they did not cover it in today's wan show is beyond me, the repercussions of this can be astronomical... like WW3 level bad.
  4. how did they not talk about the biggest hack ever in todays wan show... like this is the big news the world should be concerned about, it does not only effect the US. there is no understating how big of an issue this is, it blows my mind they did not cover it. I really hope they do an in depth deep dive into this on a separate dedicated video.
  5. this is a major happening if i ever did see it https://www.solarwinds.com/company/customers that is a very concerning list. is it war now? also kind of related... load this up on mobile and check out what powers the dominion voting companies site https://dvsfileshare.dominionvoting.com/
  6. nah, i wish the gains where that good. I have seen VW TDIs get way way more but at that point you are pretty much rebuilding the engine. I am also trying to keep it street legal and retain all the emission stuff. I do not track, just street driving. what im looking to upgrade to is this https://malonetuning.com/products/item/2-0l-cr-16v-tdi-round-port-stage-4-kit but with a cp3 fuel pump
  7. i do, my car is a 2012 TDI jetta does BMW have a TDI as well? XD I know they have diesel but i figured it would have a different badge
  8. i believe you are correct, the clutch pressure is slightly increased, but the torque limit is raised also to match the VW TDI cup cars, which from what i have been able to tell have the same transmission as the normal cars. before i got the stage 2 tune, I did a little bit of research about the transmission tune because I was worried about increased wear and tear, and although it probably is increased, i think consensus is its negligible. as for a clutch upgrade, i do not think thats necessary for my car, even at a stage 4 tune, its only gonna be about 350 lb of torque, it is no BMW . I think most DSGs are wet clutch, i think only the newer 7 speed DSG coming out in the past couple of years are dry. I know my clutch for sure is wet.
  9. this is correct however it just happens to be that the DSG transmission VW uses are far more sturdy then what the limits allow. I know in my car at least, it increases torque limit, changes shift points so your car shifts up earlier and down shifts later so it makes more efficient use of the RPM power band in the TDI. also allows for smoother shifting over all when you have the ECU tuned, and as a bonus, it adds what gear you are in to the display while in drive or sport mode, without the tune, for some reason this is only shown while in manual mode. this is not applicable to any standard transmission however, only for automatic. https://www.tunemyeuro.com/malone-tuning-dsg-tune-golf-jetta-new-beetle-passat/ if you scroll down on this page and see the quote from malones site (before they changed it all up (i can find it on their site anymore)) it explains in better detail then what i can. I am at a stage 2 which is fine with stock parts but i do plan to move to a stage 4 at some point, it will require a bigger turbo, and it will push stock fuel pump to the limits, so ill get a better fuel pump as well, might do that first when my timing belt is due, which will be soon.
  10. hey guys, i noticed that malone tuning is in the same road as LTT... they specialise in turning/modding firmware of your cars ECU (specifically euro cars) i have a stage 2 tune from these guys. they can also probably get into all the neat things you can do with an ODB2 port. i know in my car, i have an ODB2 to USB cable, and i have been able to turn on features reserved for higher trim levels and even fancier brands such as an Audi. An example of this is in my car (a 2012 tdi jetta (comfort trim level)) i was able to enable hill assist braking, torque steer compensation, rolling up and down windows with my key fob while the car is off or on, tear drop mode for the wipers. I also have my transmission it's self firmware flashed to allow for higher torque. this is in a 2012 car, imagine the tech inside a more modern car. It is both tech related and car related, which I know linus has said in a few videos he wanted to get into more. I have tried suggesting this in the youtube comments and on twitter but i think it just gets drowned out in all the other noise comments, is their a proper channel to recommend something like this? The particular thing that lead to this post with this segment here in tech linked, a video done on this will show exactly how BMWs microtransaction garbage is absolute BS. It is more BS then even the computing industry as car manufactures do not want to make extra parts, which is why you can enable so many extra things in cars if you know what you are doing and the hardware is there. I know in my car at least, the computer for it, and the transmission, is the same computer in higher trim levels and what not, its just features are turned off for higher trim levels and its literally a check in the box and a cable for you to turn them on. if you have a euro car and want to over clock it, i suggest checking out malone https://malonetuning.com/ thats kind of an ad but the tune they did for my car is amazing, i get better fuel economy to.
  11. Hello guys, I have an issue with a new driver that was supposed to fix an audio issue among other things with GC573 capture card but only made things worse. There are people who have this driver working without issues so I'm wondering if maybe some of you guys might be able to shed some light on whats happening. The specifics of what is happening are as follows: The drivers that worked in the past is version 2.2.64.70 However I am not sure what my old firmware on the capture card was. The new driver is version 2.2.64.82 and it updated the firmware on the capture card to 2019.12.05. After this driver update, I began having audio issues, just lots of crackling, popping, and stuttering coming from the capture card. I thought I would just try rolling back the drivers to 2.2.64.70, however the driver install hangs at around 75%. When I end the task, the computer runs fine, however the capture card blinks red and refuses to do anything. I cant even uninstall the device via device manager. When rebooting or shutting down the PC, it hangs on the shut down screen forcing me to force shutdown the computer. And then the computer will not boot up, it gets stuck on the OEM loading screen with the white dots that move in a circle. To get the computer to work correctly again, I need to do a system restore. Once I have done a system restore, everything is all back to normal, I tried uninstalling the new broken driver and installing an even older driver, I did this several times with the same result on every driver I tried, However if I reinstall the broken 2.2.64.82 driver, it installs seemingly without an issue, capture card stops blinking red and works, however I still have the audio problem. I think what is happening with the old drivers hanging on install, is that there might be some sort of conflict between the old drivers and the new firmware, either the old driver installer gets stuck trying to install and older firmware onto the card or something else, i'm not sure, I don't expect anyone to be able to help with that as only avermedia knows how their capture card and drivers work I am sure, I have contacted them about it but reading their subreddit, their is a few people with this problem in the past few weeks. Because their is people running the new drivers and firmware just fine. I am hoping you guys might be able to help me out with getting the new drivers working correctly to fix the audio. Hopefully it's just some sort of conflict with windows that can be fixed by changing something in windows. All I have to go on is an error in the event viewer when I install the new drivers, I found the moment when installed the original drivers when the PC was a fresh install and this error was not here, It only occurred when installing or reinstalling the new driver. - System - Provider [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP [ Guid] {9c205a39-1250-487d-abd7-e831c6290539} EventID 411 Version 0 Level 2 Task 0 Opcode 0 Keywords 0x4000000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2020-04-29T03:57:51.820054200Z EventRecordID 625 Correlation - Execution [ ProcessID] 4 [ ThreadID] 1624 Channel Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP/Configuration Computer StreamPC - Security [ UserID] S-1-5-18 - EventData DeviceInstanceId PCI\VEN_1461&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_57301461&REV_00\4&30466ac5&0&00E8 DriverName oem3.inf ClassGuid {4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} ServiceName AVXGC573Cap LowerFilters UpperFilters Problem 0x15 Status 0x0 Anyone have any recommendations?

  13. Hey guys, I'm looking for a simple mixer with at least 3 XLR mic inputs, phantom power, and have two outputs as either RCA , 3.5mm, or quarter inch. i really dont care about sampling or any of those stream deck sort of things, although i do intend to use it for streaming, i just want the most straight up simple mixer. you guys have any suggestions? this seems to be the closest thing that i have found they are only missing the XLR outpute which is not too big of a deal, i can use adapters i guess: https://www.amazon.ca/Neewer-2-Channel-Condenser-Microphone-Indicator/dp/B071X94VBY/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1547001280&sr=8-10&keywords=mic%2Bmixer&th=1 this one seems to be a cheaper rebrand of this one: https://www.amazon.ca/Monoprice-615808-8-Channel-Audio-Mixer/dp/B00DIGCE5C/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1547001992&sr=8-30&keywords=mic+mixer
