1, Make sure the gain isn't all the way up, giving it too much volume can create a squealing sound, as can feedback between a microphone and speaker.

2, Try connecting over the RCA connectors instead of 3.5mm to avoid the possibility of bad cable

3, Failing that could you record the sound so we can hear it, different failures can have different sounds so it may help.

  2. Hey there, solderben

From what I understand this happens with all USB mass storage devices connected to the USB 3.0 ports, is that correct?
Well it could be an issue with the OS as well, besides everything you've suggested. I'd recommend that you check if you have any available OS updates and install them if you do. You could also try resetting/updating your BIOS/UEFI, to see if the same thing happens. Check if the cables of the front panel are properly connected. Other than that you could try reinstalling or updating your chipset drivers, to see if that fixes things up.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.

I did the same mistake on the RAM DIMM slot, I cleaned it by dipping a tooth brush into 80% alcohol then brushed the mess, let it dry and install all the components, and I got no problems till now.

I had other problem and it was an unexpecting miss-suspected issue. It was a Displayport cable affecting the motherboard to turn the CPU debug LED on, and unable to boot with intermittent power blinks.

I suspected that my PSU or the CPU are the ones which might fail, but after the long tries and never give up curiousity to search the real suspect, I ended up found that my Displayport cable is the root cause of my PC problem, you might see this as nonsense, because why on earth a DP cable can caused a system not to boot? But it was real and happened to me.

After I ditched that crappy DP cable and use my previous slightly damaged DP cable and also tried to use the DVI cable instead the problem is gone and I never see it come back again till now.. This is one of a strange PC problem. I was about to RMA my PSU though, but luckily I sorted it out before it happen..

    Ill try it!

  4. Hi, i upgraded my old build and i realised i dripped thermal paste on the pcie slot , when i first built my system. I went to change my 1060 with a 1080 but it keeps on reseting, when playing games. Not the cpu over heating, 50degrees while playing, and not the psu, since its a new one, and not the graphics card, since it is new. Could the themal paste on the slot be causing resets?

  5. Im planning to upgrade my system, but my ICT teacher told me that both of the gpu's use the same architecture and the 1070ti can be overclocked to mach the 1080. do you think i should save some money, and go for the 1070ti?

    (Btw im buying used)
