I just upgraded my graphics card and I noticed when using ear buds or headphones, a faint whirring/whining sound comes through and in more graphically intense loads such as games, it manifests into a more clicky-buzzing sound that's much more noticeable.
The noise also seems to vary by what you're doing. Going back on a webpage or clicking a link will pause the noise until the page fully loads again and at least in Skyrim, the menu halts the noise. Its not my headphones/earbuds issue since turning the volume to zero still emits that noise and connecting to another device such as my phone yields nothing.
I believe its coil whine from the GPU since it persists in multiple applications and it didn't occur in my old GPU, although I can't really hear it from my GPU and its a lot less "screechy" and loud then what I've heard from other examples.
Its not bad enough for me to return it but its rather annoying. I've heard that GPU coil whine goes away after a while. Or is this something different and there is a solution for it?
