@Gat Pelsinger Will look at the i5 but definitely will look at the generation. My original laptop CPU is a 10 year celeron dual core 2 threads so i5 will be a step up

200-250 pounds for a laptop need it for light video editing and general use.

Hi looking at a new laptop does having more threads mean better performance or having more cores. Seen a laptop with 2 core and 4 threads does this me it can handle to task at once just confused does core and threads need to be symmetrical. Thanks for any replies.

Thanks for replying you are correct it's a Intel Celeron N2840 I have Cache 1 MB L2 Cache is this low for cache?. Also it's a 10 year old CPU and struggling with YouTube it lags going to buy another laptop. Got any tips on buying a new laptop to look for in specs I have a budget of 200 pound? Only use it for light video editing and web browsing.

Hi current laptop is a aspire es1-512 have having trouble with it I load chrome browser and watch YouTube it's laggy it does eventually stop sometimes. I have updated all my drivers I have noticed my temperatures reach around 45 and maximum 50 Celsius. The processor is a Intel Celeron Processor N2840 upgraded it to 8 gigs of ram and upgraded it to a SSD. My processor speed is 2.58 GHz Was told that it was a old laptop so now looking for a new laptop for web browsing and YouTubing and light video editing. Budget is about 200 quid

Sounds like a daft question but I don't play games on my laptop so when I buy a new laptop. What's the minimum and maximum spec I should look out for in CPU speed and intel generation , Ram , graphics cards and anything else I missed out. Thanks
