Okay, so I purchased a new monitor so I had to move my computer so I had room for the second monitor. Come to find out after doing some research It appears to be a motherboard short. Or a short somewhere but it only happens if the computer is moved a little which explains it doing it when I first set it up as It had just had a decent car ride.
-
Been days and it still hasnt done it. Its done it previously when I had it set up at a friends house when I bought it. Ill update if it happens again, but I dont see it happening.
-
Still hasn't done it. It might be only a few times on early startup. I'll keep posted.
-
So this is weird, but It hasnt done it since I've posted this. I'll update if it does it again. Temps still seem alright too.
-
I'll try that, I do have my old graphics card to try if it's not fried. My old PC's power supply went pop for context.
-
It's done it when just on the home screen. I'm checking thermals more frequently now and they seem to top at 75.
-
mobo- gigabyte z97-d3h-cf ram-32 gigs ddr3 1600 mhz. and I have a 500gb 860 evo and a 1tb toshiba hdd. Like I said it is used I paid a cheap price for it because my old system broke and I needed something for the meantime, which this is actually better than my old one. and the psu is a raidmax thunder v2.
-
And I've checked thermals they are fine. edit- they have maxxed on 78 but are floating in the mid 60's mostly.
-
Im guessing is the graphics card but it might be the PSU. I'm doubting it because what happens is the pc output to the monitor stops working, yet I can still hear audio and the fans ramp up a noticeable amount. Any help works, I just got this PC used and got an SSD for it. It has a 290x and a i7 4790. I've looked around and updated, turned off fast boot and other things to no help.
-
Yeah I was planning on red/black color scheme for close to 800-1000$ (USD), and I've always heard to never cheap out on a power supply, but I could of looked a little more for one. Admittingly, I could have done better the list.
-
I'm liking this one the most so far for the price and performance, yet should I be worried about the BIOS update thing?

Hello, I've recently decided to get a new PC as my current one is 5 years old and cannot play many games I enjoy/want to play anymore. I've updated drivers, and its because its specs are 1050 (not Ti) and an fx 4350 with 8gb ram. The parts list I threw together is linked here. I want to see if this is any good. The reason i'm running it by this forum is because I've been out of the limbo up until about 2 weeks ago and there are some new parts that I don't have much knowledge on. I currently am just looking for a PC because I'll save up and get new peripherals on my own in the future. I have my 1tb hdd in my current PC that i'll likely place into this build if I complete it. Also why I'm at it, how could I move my copy of windows to my ssd in the parts list? I'm assuming something to do with raid but I don't think you can just move it over from the file explorer. If this list gets tweaked by anyone, just know that I prefer the case listed, and if possible the cooler, yet if another is better/cheaper then it just comes too it, and if possible liquid cooling because large radiators blocking rgb is a little infuriating. Oh and rgb if possible. I plan to do alot of gaming and general use. Anyways thanks, -Logan. EDIT: I was messing around and also made this list too see if it was any better and its a good bit cheaper using AMD, link.

Hi I was in the market for some stupid reason to buy Linus troll face key caps to replace my macro keys for my keyboard I plan to buy in the upcoming weeks. My question is how many does it come with? Because I'm not paying 8$ for a piece of plastic.

Hi, I'm planning on building my first pc in a few weeks or 1-2 months. I was looking at my parts list and realized I don't need a 1 terabyte SSD when for cheaper I could get another m.2 500gb drive and run them in raid. I was looking up on how to run raid and was curious if I needed to use one of those PCIe expansion cards. My motherboard says it has 3 m.2 slots, but I'm not sure if I can use those to run raid or not.
