  1. Hello all, I have a quick question for people, who have the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless. Is it possible to use it with "Dolby Atmos for Headphones" that is available on Windows 10? I just wrote a Youtuber a comment in one of his videos and he said the option appers grayed-out for him, i.e. not working. I want to confirm it. I want a new audio set-up and I decided that going with Atmos is the priority. Now I'm searching for a very good headphone to pair with it and was (until now) very interestred on the Arctis Pro Wireless.... I though Atmos work with ALL headphones and don't understand why it woudn't work with this Arctis Pro Wireless... Thanks!
  2. Hello everybody, I would like to ask for some advice concerning my current audio setup and possible improvements. Requirements: 1- Quality regardless of cost 2- Wireless Intended use: 1- Gaming 2- Music (I'm a electric guitarrist) What I current have: 1- SoundBlaster Z 2- Sony MDR-DS6500 3- Computer on description Now a little bit of explanation (if you don't want/need this information, just skip all the gray text below): My current desktop is very new, which I built around September/October last year and it's definitely very high-end (judding processor, VGA and the components itself). The SoundBlasterZ and the MDR-DS6500 are actually very old piece of equip that I had from my previous rig. Why I bought them and when? First in 2012 I bougth the MDR-DS6500 because I had the blind idea (and nowadays I know, definitely wrong idea) that "good audio MUST mean digital 5.1 (at least) audio" and "even better would be to use a digital output S/PDIF than the regular 3,5 mm jacks". I saw this MDR-DS6500 in the shop and I really appreciated how it looks. And "if it's Sony, it's 5.1 and costs 170 bucks, it must be good", I thought. I started using it with my old rig via the S/PDIF output of my motherboard (an old Rampage Formula). As I noticed it was "crackling" (due to the motherboard itself), I read that a possible solution would be to get a dedicated sound card. Then I took one or two years later the SoundBlasterZ. The crackling was gone. I also get this card because it has DTS Connect and Dolby Digital Live and again due to my previous mindset I thought "if it has S/PDIF and is 5.1, so having DOLBY SURROUND can only make it more amazing". Duh. Years after I built my current rig. My first intention was to not use the SoundBlasterZ at all, but keep my Sony Headphones using the S/PDIF output of my Z370-F motherboard. First disappointment: I noticed then that 1- the maximum volume I could get without crancking the headphone to maximum (i.e. via Windows audio panel) was pretty low. And 2- I had absolutely no way to change settings/customize (for example, equalizer) via Windows and the motherboard audio driver. Because of this, I installed the SoundBlasterZ on the new rig. First I used the S/PDIF output of the SoundBlasterZ. Second disappointment: Again, the audio driver from Creative totally lacks customization for the digital output. Then I decided to activate the DTS Connect that the SBZ performs on-the-fly, but I had the third disappointed: now I could clearly notice a delay (high latency) in the sound very likely due to the on-the-fly software of the SoundBlasterZ (and when gaming it is UNBELIEAVLY annoying). Nowadays I am using this audio rig like so: SoundBlasterZ is configured for SBX Pro Studio, speakers in 5.1 surround. But as I'm still using the S/PDIF, I set in "Advanced features" the option "Play stereo mix to digital output". The reason I created this topic is because although I am not disappointed with the current config, I strong believe that it MUST have a lot of room for improvement. It's definitely not in the same level as my current rig. Because in a sense, what the SBZ is doing now (if I understand it right) is emulating 5.1 surround through the SBX Pro Studio, and then transfering it STEREO through a digital (surround capable) output to a headphone that is supposed to support SURROUND natively. So, what suggestion (including buying another headphones) you would have for me? I am currently considering selling the SBZ and the Sony MDR-DS6500 because nowadays I know this Sony is intened for TV (what doesn't automatically means it is the best solution for Windows Gaming) and 7.1 Headphones are not necessarily the best way to go (it's no true 7.1 and nowadaysd Object-Based Surround like Atmos are said to be far superior). The only requirements that I have are: it must be a headphone and it must be wireless. Thank you in advance!
  3. Me too, I just had this problem today!! Thanks for the fix!
  4. Hello forum, Today I noticed that sometimes, when I turn my PC off, I got this annoying message “This App is Preventing Shutdown or Restart”. The message appears and disappears so quickly that I can't even see what program is causing it. Then I decided to take a look in the Event Manager to see if I find something out. I don't know if what I saw there is related to this problem, but it's not the point now. I saw that Razer Chroma SDK always generates Warnings whenever I turn my PC on or shut it down. I took a Screenshot. It's in my mother language but in English it translates as: The description for Event ID 1 from source "Razer Chroma SDK Server" cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. **The following information was included with the event: ** Razer Chroma SDK Server Service was paused (sometimes it shows as "Service was resummed" --> see below) As you can see, when I turn my PC down some hours ago (around 18:50:15 or 18:50:20), the Razer Chroma SDK Server registered in the same second (!!!) four events and one more event had been generated 5 seconds earlier. From bottom to top, the events showed in the last line (see above) the following: 18:50:20 Service was resummed 18:50:20 Service was paused 18:50:20 Service was paused 18:50:20 Service was paused 18:50:15 Service was resummed So I do have some evidence to think the Razer Chroma SDK Server is acting weird and delaying start-up and shut-down. What makes me angry is that I don't even know why I do need this software (I installed Razer Chroma Synapse because of my mouse Razer DeathAdder Elite - and then the SDK Core components come with it). Does anyone have any clue to solve this issue? Thanks very much in advance!
  5. Hello Radium_Angel, hello guys that are possibly reading it, he ordered his new pc parts one month ago, but somehow one distributor (the one that had to deliver the processor) lost his packet and he refunded it. Now we were looking today for another i7-8700 but they are now somehow extrem more expansive than one month ago. Do you (and do you guys) think it would be a good idea to take a i5-8600? It also seems to be a very solid processor. 6 cores, good speed...
  6. He uses a Canon 5D Mark 4. Yes, he shoots in RAW. And he said it shoots "30 million pixels" when I asked about the resolution (so, 30 Megapixels I assume). Let's maybe simplify it and say that he will be at least a little bit future proofed by getting a GTX 1060?
  7. Thank you very much Radium Angel. I picked also a HD besides the NVMe (see above). I could go with a WD Gold, for even more security. About "core over threads", do you have a suggestion besides the i7-8700 ? A Core i9 ? I found this: https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended/Recommended-Systems-for-Adobe-Lightroom-Classic-CC-141/Hardware-Recommendations " While it is likely that Adobe will increase GPU acceleration support in Lightroom in the future, the current demand on the video card is actually relatively light. We recommend either a GeForce GTX 1060 or GeForce GTX 1070 unless you also use other applications that can make heavier use of the GPU (like Premiere Pro). " So, instead of GTX 1050 should I take a GTX 1060?
  8. Hello guys, I'm searching for my father-in-law for his new computer. It's intended to be used for professional photo editing and of course, some internet surfing (banking, youtube etc.). It's a ZERO PERCENT gaming build! Software: Adobe Lightroom Current situation: He has actually an old but still relative fast PC. His complains are about the time it takes to load in Adobe Lightroom his huge photos that he makes with his professional camera. I will ask him tomorrow more details about it, but the idea with this new build is to see a clear evolution in comparison to the current state (obvious). So, I think he needs power in form of CPU and NVMe, but maybe I'm wrong. I've picked up the following parts (see link above). PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor (€309.90 @ Alza) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (€33.94 @ Amazon Deutschland) Motherboard: Gigabyte - B360M DS3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€74.99 @ Amazon Deutschland) Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (€155.15 @ Mindfactory) Storage: Western Digital - Black NVMe 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (€162.99 @ Amazon Deutschland) Storage: Western Digital - BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (€126.68 @ Mindfactory) Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1050 2GB OC Video Card (€134.99 @ Amazon Deutschland) Power Supply: be quiet! - Pure Power 10 CM 400W 80+ Silver Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (€56.89 @ Amazon Deutschland) Optical Drive: Asus - DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer (€18.48 @ Amazon Deutschland) Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit (€103.94 @ Mindfactory) Total: €1177.95 https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/LeoBR1989/saved/szMFt6 He does not need a new monitor, because he already has a very fancy and huge IPS monitor. 1- Are these both good choises? 2- Considering the whole built, do you see any weak points or exaggerations? 2a- Is a GTX 1050 ok? 2b- Is the old Hyper 212 Evo still good? 2c- Any other considerations? Thank you VERY much in advance!!!!
  9. Hey Mark, Thanks for the quick support. When I removed the shield again, the thermal pad just slipped off it. Then I reapplied it to the shield. Do you how precise should the position of it be? I'm now afraid that it's a little bit offset... Thanks for the support Jurrunio. Does every thermal pad leaks fluid over the time?
  10. Hello all, I'm just building my new PC right now (motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z370-F) and when installing the NVMe in the slot M.2_1 I realised that there's a thermal pad in the 3D-Printed-Shield (supposed to be for the M2 slot). Picture below. Is this thing safe at all? I saw it is touching some eletrical components just in this gap between the label of the WD Black and the connector (see in the second picture, the red circle). Then I removed the shield again and cut off 1 mm of the thermal pad to avoid this touch. But I am still feeling unease. Can this thing stick on my NVMe in the long term? Can it expand and "leak" to the motherboard? Thank you in advance!
  11. So, the problem persists? I really would renounce of changing the Memory's RGB colors if it give me 100% security about SPD problems. Is it the case?
  12. If you think I should send it back, are these good alternatives? 13. Hi LinusTechForum, I'm building my new computer and have already ordered all its parts. For instance: - i7-8700k - rog strix z370-f - 16 GB G-Skill Trident Z 3200 MHz (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR) - And a lot of Corsair's RGB products or products that have some kind of control... five RGB fans, Watercooler H100i Pro, a PSU HX750i and a Commander Pro. So, I'm really into lightning my PC with Corsair's material. My question is: yesterday I just saw by accident (or not) some posts in the G-Skill Forum relating to problems with the Trident Z when someone tried to control the RGB lightning. People talked about SPD corruption for example. Does anyone know the current status of this issue? I've already asked the G-Skill support, but I want a parallel answer. Should I maybe send the TridentZ back? I'm really confused now. It seems the issue happen when trying to change the RGB lightning of the TridentZ using Aura or the G-Skill Software. But some people said that any problem that access the SPD of the memories could cause the problem (citation needed). I accept making a trade-off and NOT touching the RGB lights of the memory as well as NOT installing the AURA software. But I cannot relinquish on the Corsair Link or the usual softwares to monitor the system ( CPU-Z, HWiNFO64 etc.). So, will I be good? Or maybe should I send it back and take Corsair memories? Thanks in advance!
  14. Thank you very very much for the answers! So, I'll just get a regular Key. The ISO I can download from the Brazilian Website.
