the 3800x is likely of a higher bin, so it may overclock better. But overall $20 is probably the most I'd spend on that.

You're comparing a consumer gaming laptop to an enterprise productivity one, two different ballgames.
 
Lenovo costs more because they're built better, and built to last. They markup basically boils down to the fact that a Thinkpad will more likely still be working in a decade, where an HP will not.
 
For gaming, which I imagine is your goal(?), the HP is objectively better in literally every way other than battery life. For literally anything other than gaming? Thinkpad all the way.
 
Also, spend some money on the CPU on the X1 Extreme. It is NOT socketed like most older laptops. What you get is what you get, unless you plan to buy a whole new motherboard when your 4 core CPU feels sluggish.

G903 is the best ambi mouse I have ever used, and I've been through nearly all of the ones currently for sale. I am a claw gripper myself.
 
Though, palm grip with a Deathadder lefty is easily the best I have ever had in terms of lefty mice, the 2013 Deathadder is an old mouse and had some bad batches with design failures. Sadly, mine was one of them. They're also incredibly expensive now, which just makes it not worth it anymore. Should have bought 20 of em when they went on sale in my local walmart in ~2015. Stupid things were $20 a pop.
 
Be aware, logi double click issue is not fixed. Though, it seems old stock of double clicking mice may be winding down and tolerances are better. I have seen/heard FAR less issues of logitech mice double clicking.

I am unfamiliar with canadian law, but I would imagine you need to go through something if you haven't had ties to canada for X number of years. She lives in Phoenix, AZ.

It's not becasue frequency is higher that the GPU is better. And it's not, since there would not be an option of having a discrete one if it was.
 
And unless the laptop specifically has hardware to switch between both and has that as an advertised feature which basically didn't exist back then once you get the discrete graphics option the internal graphics are permanently disabled and inaccessible.
 

DifferentSLIAuto will allow this to work, but then you will be running it as (theoretically) x2 the slowest card. If you get really lucky, it's more 1.5x.

I made a post on the Apple forums highlighting the manufacturing flaw with 11 Pro phone's glass being soft to scratches. The post contained several sources and was aimed only to make Apple aware of the issue. It was removed within ~20 minutes.

Avast is very good if you want something above Windows Defender, but it has been known to have bugs with certain games and cause massive framerate drops/stutter (A similar thing recently happened with Overwatch)

Madison was responsible for what I would officially title 'my favourite ever LTT video', f*ck the diversity card, she is just totally great based on merit alone!

Great on-screen chemistry indeed. Would it make sense long term? Hard to tell, you need to think about how she'll integrate in a constant stream of videos outside of building a PC together. But it's true that the back and forth between them did not get old in just one video.

Citizens of a country never need visa to work, or anything else, in the country their citizens of, as by definition visas deal with non-citizens.
While she mentioned growing up in Calgary, I don't remember whether she said she's Canadian - it could have been an American (or anything else) citizen living in Canada as a child.
Citizens losing the right to work because they spent X time living abroad (while retaining citizenship all along) would be against all constitutions I know of (granted, it's just a handful). Equality before the law implies you cannot selectively remove rights from some citizen unless as a punishment for break a law.
