  1. Yesterday when I was playing my PC just shut off, since then I have been able to start it twice, I noticed I received an error code 41 but nothing more. Today I booted it up and it was on and working for about 5 minutes, then it shut off and hasn't turned on since. Aside from the occasional POSTs that quickly end, it first showed yellow, then red, and yellow again and now it only shows yellow. So I thought my RAM was the problem, it most likely isn't, I've reseated, switched places and tested them individually. Maybe something was causing a short? I disassembled the PC and it doesn't seem to have been the problem. Now I've decided to test the PSU. I used Corsair's own guide and used a paper clip, well not really but a conductive bridge between the 16th and 17th pins on the 24-pin connector. I am not sure but I'm guessing it's the power supply that's bad, I've tried two sockets, and three computer cables. And they all yield the same result: short fan movement and then nothing. If I understand it correctly, some Corsair power supplies have something called zero-rpm mode where the fans don't spin under low load. However, it doesn't seem like this PSU has that. Does anyone have any idea? The obvious answer seems to be the power supply but I don't want to spend a 100 bucks just for it to still not work. I'm open to troubleshoot further to the best of my abilities.
  2. My specs are: Ryzen 5 3600 Corsair 16gb 3000mhz (I think) Asus Strix B450-F gaming Corsair 550W psu Asus dual oc (I think) RTX 2060 6gb Kingston 120gb ssd Samsung 500gb ssd WD 1TB HDD First of all, sorry for vague specs, I have forgotten the exact parts I used when I built this PC in late 2019. The problem occurred yesterday night, I was playing red dead online with, I admit, way too many unnecessary tabs open. My thinking was that it had overheated because it just shut off and was hot in the back of the case. Ok I thought, no biggie maybe? But I'm impatient, I think it's ADHD, soon to be evaluated. Anyway, I tried turning it on and nothing happened. The fans didn't spin or anything at all, the only indication of something still working was that my motherboard's RGB was still glowing. So I did what any sensible person would've done, I shut the PSU off and let it cool, next thing you know, I powered it on half an hour later and it booted up. This morning I did the same because I had to study, but then it shut off again. It didn't turn on and showed no signs of anything getting power except for the RGB still glowing. I would turn off and then on the PSU and the fans would spin a little but nothing else. I forgot to mention that my GPU also shone a white light, which to my understanding means it's fine and is receiving power. Anyways, I thought there was a lot of dust build-up, and there was some dust but not enough to warrant that sort of drama. So I removed it, tried again, fans moved a bit, nothing else. So what I've tried as of now is: Incessantly pressing the power button. Moved the GPU to another slot. Tried starting the PC without the GPU. Changed case- and CPU fan pins. Removed and then reseated the CMOS battery Cleared the CMOS using CLRTI or whatever the jumper pins are called. This actually gave results as the computer actually began POSTing, I believe, but the MOBO lights blinked yellow, red, yellow, so I thought it was some code. I haven't figured out if it was only that yellow means RAM and red means CPU. Then it shut off, and after trying to turn it on again it decided not to, so back att square one. This is when I put the RAM in other slots. Since then I haven't been able to replicate the POST. I'm gonna switch out the CMOS battery to rule it out, but I'm not sure what the problem is. Has anyone had this problem?
  3. As the title suggests, I would like to know what the PC equivalent of the (original) Xbox one's wifi board would be. How can I find out?
  4. Hello, I'm planning on building a PC (once I get sufficient funds) that's going to use a Ryzen 2600. Is it possible to use a B350 mothrrboard instead of a B450 ir an X470 motherboard? I've heard that you'd need a regular Zen CPU to install the BIOS for the Zen+ to work. Is this true? How would I flash the BIOS? Is it possible to contact AMD and get a low-end AM4 CPU to do it? Please help. Tell me if you need me to clarify.
  5. Not really extend but to let an old PC get access to the internet through an AP.
  6. Okay so the title sounds dumb and so am I but hear me out. I wonder if it would be possible to connect a device that has a wifi card in it (an xbox for example) and use that as an access point for a device without a wifi card by connecting the two with an ethernet cable. This is dumb but is a question I have, would this be possible? Please, I am very dumb, you do not have to rub it in, thank you in advance.
  7. Thank you so much! I did not even know my monitor had that setting!
  8. The GPU I have does not support HDMI and I don't own a display or dvi cable. Is it still possible to solve this without buying stuff?
  9. I don't know how to and it's swedish.
  10. Ask me to elaborate or send more pivtures if needed.
  11. Hello, I salvaged a gt 405 from another PC and installed it in this PC as a video adapter because plugging a VGA cable into the onboard VGA port didn't work. I tried it this time with the gt 405 but it still didn't work. When the gt 405 was in the other PC that I salvaged it from it worked perfectly, could anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Ask me for pictures or elaboration if you need them, thanks.
