  1. It could be, since that spot is not normal definitely, none of the laptops i've repaired have this problem, and to make things worse, i don't have a working compatible laptop to test the screen. Thanks for your reply! I'll try to get my money back and get another screen
  2. Hey guys, i have this Lenovo G580, which i tried to repair to no avail. I bought a "new" LCD screen, that turns on, but displays nothing. one of the corners also has a little spot, that looks pale green (really weird). If i connect the laptop via VGA, it works. I have also replaced the LCD cable to no avail, and i fear the laptop LCD port is dead. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Thanks! The camera light also turns on, and i supect it works, does that means something?
  4. Hello guys, yesterday a client of mine brought me his Lenovo G580 because, when connected it was making a popping noise, and the display would flash in a faint black, just like when you turn the laptop on, but, this one wasn't turning on. After solving that popping noise (a screw was shorting the motherboard) and assuring everything was working, the screen was no longer working. When i first tried to turn it on, it indeed turned on, screen worked and all. But after closing the lid, and removing said screw (located below the HDD), the screen was not working. I ordered the LCD cable, but i fear that the screen might have gone bad, and i don't know how to test it. I am now connected through VGA and the laptop works as expected. Is the screen dead if every other thing works perfectly fine?
  5. That sucks, i have it connected on my rig (R7 1700 @ 3.8GHz, 620w Seasonic PSU, 16GB of DDR4 3200, B450 Aorus Elite) And it still wont work. That is why i think maybe when he updated the BIOS he killed the fans, even though the card still works. I could not find any visible damage on the card.
  6. Thanks! I know about them, but i wanted to know if the fans are definitely toast, or if maybe a BIOS reflash with nvflahs would help. The card works as expected, aside from the fans issue.
  7. Hi, a friend of mine brought me his RTX 2080ti Aorus Xtreme because, as he said to me, after a Windows update, the fans stopped working, then he updated the BIOS with the Aorus engine app, and now the LEDs from the fans and the fans are not working anymore, not even when manually set to any % by Aorus engine or MSI aftertburner. Connecting it to my PC didn't help, as the fans/leds still wont work. The card shuts down because it reaches 90c and the fans would not give a damn. The card is 1 month old and was never tore apart until this day, and, since it was a gift from his uncle that lives in USA, and the warranty does not cover it here, i tought i could give it a look. I took it apart, unplugged and plugged back all conectors to no avail. BIOS version is F10.
  8. Thanks! I'll try to get a new adapter since i tested two more cables that i know they work and it keeps doing the same thing. Weird, maybe the adapter is not meant for heavy usage? I've never stumbled upon such a weird problem
  9. You complain about your GPU but you did not run all the troubleshoot steps, yes, that also means a clean install.
  10. Hmm, i'll try with another cable, since this is the only adapter i had.
  11. Hello everyone! I had an old BenQ monitor lying around, working, and since i had to return the other monitor i was using (i borrowed from a friend and he needed it back) i connected this BenQ with an "active DVI-D to VGA adapater" since my RX 480 has no VGA ports, and this monitor only accepts VGA. It was all working well, until i played some games in fullscreen mode. Games would make the monitor lose connection for a second (black screen and the image comes back), if there is too much going on screen (i was playing SAO: Fatal Bullet and when that happened, i was with 3 teammates doing a boss). I watched a video in 720p on youtube and the connection issues are more noticiable, i get one every 3 seconds the video is playing in fullscreen. THis did not happen on the HDMI monitor i used earlier, and not even on my 42' HDMI TV. So, it don't think this is a driver issue (i am using Arch Linux). I never used the DVI port, so i can't tell if its faulty or not. I think it could be that adapter, but, since my replacement monitor's shipping is delayed (and i don't know when it will arrive) i am stuck with either having a monitor or not. I tried with the TV, but it quickly turned out to be a pain in my eyes. So, any help would be really appreciated. EDIT: i forgot to mention this seems to not happen on windowed mode.
  12. Thank you very much! Will have those in mind when i receive my payment
  13. Id thought the same, the quartz looks very nice, and i heard that the cm ones have a problem with airflow. thanks for your response! its highly appreciated
  14. Hello everyone, i am re-building my pc, which was a budget build at the time but now its improving quite nicely. I got myself a raidmax exo case, which is good for the price but lacks airflow and cable management options. This is important because i have a core i7 6700 (non k) with the stock cooler (my 212 evo got squashed while i was moving to my new house), an msi b150m gaming pro, a gigabyte gtx 1060 windforce, 12GB (8+4) of ddr4 2400mhz crucial ballistix sport RAM, and a EVGA 500B psu. Im searching for a new case for up to 60 usd because the airflow in this one is quite bad, im getting 60c at 30% cpu load and 65c at 20% gpu load (and because this case isnt really good-looking). So, i picked some cases, and i need to choose of them. -Coolermaster masterbox 5 pro MSI edition -Aerocool Quartz RGB (with 3 rgb fans in the front and one standard fan in the rear) -Phanteks P300 -Deepcool Earlkase RGB What im looking for in a case is (from most important to less important): -Cable management -Airflow -Build quality -Included fans -I/O options -RGB options (i have ordered a z170 pro gaming aura)
